Washington Wizards (8-3) at Los Angeles Lakers (4-3) at 7:30pm est - Away Team Box Score - Home Team Box Score
THE STORYLINE: The Los Angeles Lakers had one of it's worst starts to a new season in it's history under Phil Jackson, the Lakers desperately needed a win against the defending champions, in a big prime-time game that pitted the previous and current champions, the Lakers prevailed and recorded the lopsided blow-out win that showed the world they still have the "it" factor.
WHAT WE SAW:
Wizards accuracy: Allen Iverson didn't come up big for the Wizards tonight, he wasn't the only one though. Iverson started with converting 3 of his 4 field goals, he recorded just 8 points all night and finished up 3 of 17, that's not great numbers missing 13 straight shots. John Wall didn't have a spectacular night, Wall recorded 17 points (8 of 18), recorded 12 assists and did record 5 steals, if he had been more active around the basket they would of had a better shot of winning.
2 big players, in 1 big game: Ron Artest and Kobe Bryant carried the Lakers to the win tonight. It's evident that their work allowed the Lakers to win, if they had not played, they would of not won. Artest was a pain for the Wizards defense recording 33 points and went 14 of 21 on field goals, Kobe Bryant recorded 25 field goals and went 2 of 7 on three pointers, the Wizards defense just couldn't matchup to the Lakers offense, although they did record 9 steals between Bynum and Blake.
