My 06 Dynasty is still on hiatus while I work on the new rosters and a couple of other projects but the plan is still pick it up again at some point. :)

It was amazing - my entire starting five was in the All-Star game!!
Simmed to 2015, none of them are all-stars.

A One-Post Franchise

Postby rise on Mon Jan 24, 2011 3:29 am

So I'm going to do a quick franchise in one post. I'll keep editing this post (sporadically, usually when I'm bored  )
It's a fantasy draft using the Bobcats. I have the third pick in each of the 12 rounds.

CANCELED

I'm doing a chicago bulls dynasty, and i made several trades in order to get draft picks, because this year's draft is strong. I traded Carlos Bozzer for a 1st round draft pick and some scrub players. I also made two more draft picks for 2 more 1st round draft picks, so now i have 3 1st round draft picks and a 2nd round pick.

I've been scouting a small forward who can do much, a 7'1 power forward who's an average 3 point shooter and he's a good inside scorer. I've scouted two centers, one 7'0 who can shoot free throws, and a 7'3 center, he's a good midrange shooter with a b grade in field goal shooting.

If they're available, i don't know who i'm going to pick first, i'd really like to have that power forward, but if i get him, then the center who's a good field goal shooter might not be around. But i basically know what i want in terms of positions. I want a good back up center, a power forward, and a shooting gaurd.

I have Nick Young to back up Ronnie Brewer, but Young is a free agent, i may or may not resign him, though i'm thinking i should. I'm planning on either signing a power forward, or getting one with my 2nd round pick.

You've got to do whatever works best for you, but I would have to agree that too many trades can rapidly bring about a halt to a Dynasty.

That's true, i was just trading to get extra 1st round picks in a strong draft. But even though we have a much improved record, i regret trading Carlos Boozer.

We had a game against the hawks in which Al Horford scored 42 points: Here's the proof.

Image

This is draft is weak or very weak i forgot, but we're planning on drafting a wing man first which we desperately need. Hopefully it'll be a shooting gaurd, which we have scouted. This is a celtics dynasty, in our first year, Glen Davis, Troy Murphy and Kristic didn't want to resign.

They didn't have stars next to their names and we couldn't even afford to resign those players, we really miss Glen Davis and Kristic. They can both still develop. I simulate all my games, unless i want to have fun, then i'll play, and to see how well my players play after skill improvements.

So, what i had to do is trade for a younger power forward first, so, as you can see in the hawks box score, Shaq was traded to the hawks for Marvin Williams. Plus I think Kevin garnett is a free agent this year along with Ray Allen i think, i want to resign Allen no matter how much it costs me.

But i don't want to resign Garnett because his salary is 20 million. We would be in debt until Garnett's retirement, which should be soon. Though i'm thinking i should not resign either Ray or Kevin, and see if i can afford to either sign a younger gaurd, or sign a gaurd to the mid-level exception.

I'll probably wait until after i sign another gaurd before i re-sign Ray Allen, he does want to come back to the team. In my 1st year as head coach we won the nba championship, i forgot against who though. This is year 2 of the dynasty, Jeff Green is a free agent in about another year or two and he doesn't have a star next to his name so, i won't be able to resisgn him, unless he wants a mid-level deal.

So I made a franchise with only players under the rating of 70 in Live 2003. Simmed till the the All-Star game (Matt Carroll - All-Star MVP) and then put LeBron on the Bobcats.

Holy. Shit.

His averages in the last 33 games were 49.3 ppg, 14.6 rpg, and 10.9 apg, 3.3 spg, and 3.5 bpg on 67% shooting from the field and 46% shooting from outside. Because he hadn't played enough games, he didn't win any end of season awards. Instead, Corey Brewer took home MVP. He, Darko, Ammo, and two other guys made All-NBA first team, Darko made the All-Defensive team and Christian Eyenga won ROTY.

Fun.

Matt Freakin' Carroll?! ALL-STAR MVP?! Heck, in real life he can't even make the All-Star bench...

I remember when I played the Sixers in 2K11...in just two years I completely transformed the team. Got Amare, Danny Granger, Marc Gasol, Ron Artest, John Wall. Nobody was left from the current Sixers squad but Louis Williams.

As I said, these are guys with ratings UNDER 70. Carroll has a 68 rating.

So I started a franchise using the original 2003 rosters and simulated a season, went 50-32, then overhauled the roster with like 20 trades.

My roster (DALLAS):
-Tyson Chandler [79]
-Dirk Nowtizki [91]
-Shawn Marion [92]
-Jason Richardson [84]
-Steve Nash [87]
-BENCH-
-Lamar Odom [88]
-Grant Hill [87]
-Tony Parker [81]
-Brian Grant [80]
-Gerald Wallace [78]
-Stephen Jackson [74]
-Antonis Fotsis [73]

I also had Latrell Sprewell, Pau Gasol, and Michael Dickerson (a beast in Live 2003), but it got boring.

The hardest part is actually giving time to my starters. I also keep forgetting Gerald Wallace has no three-point shot in the game and Steve Nash's 3-point rating is grossly low considering he's Steve Fucking Nash.

I don't have boxscores this time, but my character Zee Otoo now got 129 points in a 131-100 win over the Lakers. :D He went 50-81 from the field and hit 17 3's. The other two points were scored by The Greatness when I accidentally pressed the dunk button. Andrew, you should get Ben Gordon to beat that.

129? 92 was hard enough and took a fair amount of FSS spamming. With only a few games left in the regular season and 73 wins for a new record already in the books, I might go after a few more records to make things interesting though.

111 was in four-minute quarters. 129 was in six-minute quarters in Live 2003. :D I think I can reach 200 with twelve-minute quarters. I don't think that's possible in a different game. Only Live 2003 is that crazy.

I'm doing a miami heat dynasty with nba live 07, and i tweeted my roster before i started the dynasty, before hiring staff and such. We made the playoffs with this lineup, you'll laugh at this.

Image

The main player that i wanted to add to the heat was Steve Nash, it would be nice if Nash played for the heat in real life. I'm developing mainly my bench players, Jeff Teague's the leader off the bench with the most assists per game off the bench, he's a playmaker, or will be after the offseason.

I just wanted to have fun and see what it's like to have allstars as my starting five players. Thought i'd do this instead of a fantasy draft, i'd never let my roster get stacked in a fantasy draft, and i only do those to have certain players player with other players.

Because i wanted a star veteran at the point, and i just love seeing Nash playing with Lebron so much.

Lol, yeah about the salaries, i haven't looked at them though, just thought i'd do something silly with the heat.

I might do another dynasty with the favorite rookies, not only the top ones, but the lower rated ones as well, guys like Paul George and Luke Babbitt may be one a team, its going to be a warm wheather team.
