DeRozan leads Raptors in win over Suns
DeMar DeRozan scored 25 points and added 4 rebounds and 3 blocks as the Toronto Raptors claimed their 35th win of the season, breaking the tie with New Jersey to move up to the 7th spot of the Eastern Conference standings. With just 11 games remaining, the swingman out of USC helped his new coach, Steve Nash, claim his first victory and a fitting one it was, as Nash's first win came at the expense of his former club, the Phoenix Suns. Toronto started out slow early, as Phoenix blitzed to a 13-2 lead in the first two minutes of the game. The Raptors were able to get into rhythm in the second half though, and the Suns' failure to adjust to the Raptors' changing game plan cost them the game. The Suns' free agent acquisitions, Chris Paul and Eric Gordon, were the only ones that showed up down the stretch for Phoenix. Paul finished with 25 points and 9 assists, while Gordon added 15 points, 3 rebounds and 4 steals.

Struggles in Oakland continue for young Raptors
Poor execution coming into the second half hurt the Raptors most in their latest road setback, this time in Golden State. The Warriors hit nearly everything after halftime, while a 4-minute scoring drought for Toronto helped settle the outcome midway into the third quarter. After allowing the Raptors to open the third frame with 5 straight points, the Warriors went on a 11-0 run to blow the game open. Forward Wes Johnson struggled to find his shot from deep, going 1-10.

Raptors Preempt Blake Show With Solid Win Over Clippers
Kyrie Irving turned in one of his finest performances of the season with 23 points and 11 assists to lead the Raptors past the Clippers in LA, 106-99. The Raptors got a comfortable lead heading into the fourth quarter after a pair of three pointers from Wesley Johnson and DeMar DeRozan put Toronto ahead, 90-71. The Clippers made their run in the final frame, outscoring the visitors 25-9 with just under 2 minutes remaining. On the next play, the Raptors went to their crafty big man, Jason Thompson, who drove past Blake Griffin for a reverse layup that pushed the lead to 5. Toronto was able to hold on to the victory, with Clippers rookie Marvin Shaw committing a crucial turnover on the next possession. Shaw led the Clippers with 23 points while Clipper star Blake Griffin was limited to 14 points and 5 rebounds, fouling out with 7 seconds to go.

36-37 :: Touch The Sky | Ep. 4: Foe Tha Love of $$

Mon May 16, 2011 12:38 pm

It was a slow day in the office so I decided to make my own coffee. On my way to the kitchen, I saw dirty, unwashed coffee cups, one of the things I hate the most. I also hate wasting money but that is conversation for another day.

Easy win over Cavs pull Toronto one step closer to playoff berth
Roll out the bandwagon, here come the underdogs. Wesley Johnson flirted with a triple double to help the Raptors move one step closer to the postseason. The Raptors' 99-89 victory over the Cavaliers last night in the Air Canada Centre was one of the more important victories of the season. The young team strengthened their hold on the sixth spot, with just 8 games to go in the tightly contested playoff race. Johnson had a game high 26 points, also hauled in 7 rebounds and dished out 6 assists. Cavaliers rookie Jeffrey Buford had a team high 23 points while Nicolas Batum chipped in 19 points and 8 boards.

Bulls squeeze out close win over Raps
A hot start from DeMar DeRozan kept the Raptors ahead of the Bulls for most of the first three quarters. DeRozan made all 8 of his shots in the opening quarter (including two three pointers) and finished with 18 of the team's 22 points. Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau was forced to put Luol Deng on the young Raptor guard but the adjustment didn't pay off; DeRozan, who already had 27 by the end of the third quarter, had only one missed shot from 11 attempts and the Raptors were still up 71-68.

The Bulls made their move with two minutes left to play. Rose scored on a turnaround jumper to put the Bulls on top, 82-81. After Wesley Johnson canned a pair of free throws to regain the lead, the Bulls answered with Rose finding an open Omer Asik for a short jumper. When DeRozan, who was already being doubled for most of the fourth, got the ball on the next play, Chicago's double team came and forced a turnover, holding on for the win. DeRozan finished the game missing 8 of his last 10 attempts, 12-21 overall from the field.

Raptors clinch playoff spot with 32 from DeRozan
When Chris Bosh left to sign with the Miami Heat two seasons ago, DeMar DeRozan was given the key to the struggling franchise. The last time the Raptors made the playoffs was during the Chris Bosh era, where they were almost swept by Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic. Last night, the young swingman out of USC helped his team reach the postseason, for only the first time in 5 years. DeRozan scored 32 points, added 5 rebounds and 5 assists, while fellow teammate Wes Johnson chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds. After scoring 33 points in the opening frame, the Wizards were held to only 16 in the second thanks to a stifling Raptor defense that turned turnovers into points. The lead went as much as 19 just under three quarters and the Wizards never threatened thereafter. With six games to play, the Raptors are currently sitting in the 6th spot, tied with the New Jersey Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.

Oh I see.. I never really tried using a 2k account.. I just wish the other team's box score can also be uploaded.. that would've been a huge help for us story makers.
