First game without Kobe.
Image
Atlanta Hawks @ Los Angeles Lakers Nov. 7th
Shannon Brown had an Unbelievable game, scoring a career high of 29 points helpin the Lakers to their third win of the season. The Lakers managed to win 107-106 at the end of the game with the lay-up from Derek Fisher. Andrew Bynum had a solid game with 24 points, 11 boards, 2 blocks, and shooting 63% from the field. Derek Fisher has been finding his teammates with ease, and dropping many dimes as he had 10 on this night. Jamal Crawford was unstoppable for the Hawks, as he scored 32 points, had 5 3-pointers, and shot 11-13 from the free throw line. Josh Smith had an excellent defensive game with 12 boards, and 5 blocks, and did a nice job on offense as well. The teams stayed even for most of the game, until the last 30 seconds when Derek Fisher made a clutch move. The Hawks did a better job finding every teammate. Lakers were lucky that their turnovers did not affect them heavily. Lakers successfully show they can win at home. The Lakers next 4 games are on the road, as they face the Hornets, Grizzlies, Magic, and Rockets. Can they continue their streak without Kobe?

Nov. 1- Nov. 11 NBA Gametime Report
ImageImageImage

Rick Kamla (Left): Well we have got some interesting news here don't we 3-D, and Barry?
3-D (Middle): Yeah Rick, some new signings for the Bucks, Spurs, and Jazz, and a nice trade going for the Knicks.
Brent Barry (Right): Their wasn't much of a surprise in the reports this time, as most things were paid little to no attention by most NBA fans.
Barry: So, Rick what do you think about the Bucks signing Chris Hunter to that 1-year deal?
Rick: Well, I think they had the right idea looking for somebody to back-up Bogut in case he gets injured again, but they didn't do a good job of it. Chris Hunter is on their Injury Reserve list, and hasn't been able to show what he's capable of.
3-D: Yes, your right Rick, I agree but I think the Bucks should have gone for a trade to get a better back-up center and get rid of one of their bench PF's or SF's.
Rick: So how about the Spurs signing SF rookie Darington Hobson?
Barry: Well, you would think he's not any good since the Bucks disowned him at training camp, but he did a nice job getting 2 points and 4 rebounds in 5 minutes.
3-D: I get what your saying here Brent, I hope that a young player like this can get more minutes and show us some more talent.
3-D: Now the most interesting thing happening this report is that the Magic and Knicks have the first trade of the season.
Barry: I think the Magic got the worse side of the trade here as they gave away a promising young player to the Knicks in return for Mason who has actually ahd his numbers decrease.
Rick: I think this was a bad deal for the Knicks because now they have 4 shooting guards, and to keep them all happy they need to give them playing time. I think the Magic got a better deal here knowing that Reddick would not be happy with Jason Richardson getting a lot of minutes.
Rick: So now we see the Jazz getting in on the signing action as they sign G Larry Hughes, who is a nice veteran from the free agent list.
Barry: Well, I think the team chemistry that was going for the Jazz is now depleted, since Hughes will be taking over the starter position that Bell used to have.
3-D: As you know guys, Hughes is one of my favorite G, that's all I have to say.
Rick: The last thing on our Gametime report is quite interesting, and we'll have to see how it unfolds. Here I'll bring up the NBA.com News feed.
Image

Barry: Wow, I can't believe I missed this, if the Bulls do plan on taking action they better get something good in return for this recently acquired player.
3-D: I think it would actually be interesting to see the Bulls trade him and see what offers they get.
Rick: Well that's your Gametime report, and we're out. We'll see you next time at the end of the month.
Cast: Ok guys we are off.
Rick, 3-D, Barry: I think this is going to be one heck of a season, now lets go get some Taco Bell guys!

Lakers looking to continue streak
Los Angeles Lakers (3-0) @ New Orleans Hornets (1-0) Nov. 9
David West scored 19 points, and like the rest of his time did a poor job on the boards. Jarret Jack scored 2 more points (12) than CP3. Andrew Bynum had a good game with 20 points, 5 boards, and 1 block. Gasol went crazy; while he grabbed every rebound he could getting 18, and had a nice 15 points. Brown had 14 points, Artest had 12, and Odom put up 10 points. Lakers win advancing their record to a 4-0 start to the season. Lakers shut down the Hornets in the 2nd quarter only allowing 10 points, which led to a huge gap in points in the 2nd half. Steve Blake was hot from down-town shooting 2/3. CP3 had a tough shooting night. He scored 10 points but with 4-19 shooting (21%), and 1-9 3pt shooting. (11%) Shannon Brown has been consistent in the past two games, playing as a starter getting double figures. Lakers hoping to defeat the Grizzles in the upcomin road game.
Box Score- Lakers
Box Score- Hornets

Lakers pull away in the 3rd
Los Angeles Lakers (4-0) @ Memphis Grizzlies (1-2) Nov. 10
Pau Gasol proves that he is the leader of this team for the remainder of this year, as he shot 70% tonight, scored 40 points, and got 8 rebounds. Bynum had an outstanding game with 13 points, 6 boards, and 5 blocks. He seems to be turning into a blocking machine. Shannon Brown contributed with 15 points. Zach Randolph finished with 23 points, 13 boards, and 1 3-pointer; this might be a sign of him being an all-star again. Marc Gasol, Pau’s brother blocked Pau 2 times, and stole the ball in the post from him once. They battled down low in the post, but the Lakers pulled away in the 3rd outscoring their opponents. Gay and Mayo combined for 27 points in 81 minutes, and both shot 30%. If the Grizzlies want to have a playoff season Gay and Mayo will have to step up. Steve Blake only scored 6 points, but he got 7 assists. He has proved that he is a good back-up, shooting 50% from downtown. Lakers win this game on the road, and are off to a 5-0 start. They hope to defeat the tough Magic and shut down Howard.
Box Score- Lakers
Box Score- Grizzlies

Lakers blow out Magic
Los Angeles Lakers (5-0) @ Orlando Magic (1-3) Nov. 12
Image
Andrew Bynum completely dominated the first half with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks, and finished with a double-double and 2 assists away from a triple-double. Gasol had 28 points, 10 boards, and 4 blocks as well. Richardson had an ok game with 20 points. Jameer Nelson shot 3-5 from downtown, and scored 14 points. When Gasol came back in during the third quarter he got 18 out of his 28 points. Artest also helped pull away, getting two threes early in the third quarter. Bynum is in 9th place averaging .613 FG%, but tonight he had .833 FG%. Nelson hit 2 clutch threes late in the second quarter giving them the lead for that quarter. Howard was invisible this game as he played 34 minutes, but only got 7 points, 7 rebounds. Howard took a lot of bad shots giving him a 17% FG (3-18) at the end of the game. Brown, Odom, and Artest combined for 44 points. Lakers take this game outscoring their opponents in the third quarter. Lakers are now 6-0 leading the Western Conference. I am now moving the difficulty up to All-Star now.

Fisher should be back by the end of the month. The Lakers hope he won't have any serious injuries because this year could be his last.
Lakers trainer Gary Vitti notes "He will be out of the team's rotation for about 1-2 weeks."

Yup, thank you and Bynum just didn't play as many minutes in the 2nd half, I wish he could have gotten a triple-double. I changed the Difficulty to All-star so I won't be winning all these games.

Rockets blow-out Lakers in first half
Los Angeles Lakers (6-0) @ Houston Rockets (5-0)
Image
Aaron Brooks had an exciting game with 46 points, and 5 assists. He shot the lights out from downtown, hitting and converting 12 of 13 of his attempts. (92%) He also shot 15-17 from the field. (88%) Yao Ming had a solid all-around game getting 19 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. For the Lakers, Gasol had a comeback in the second half scoring 20 of his 30 points, got 6 rebounds, and had 3 blocks, two of which were on Yao. Artest was the go-to man as he shot 50% from downtown, and had 27 points. Blake came out of nowhere and channeled his inner-Stockton, as he ended with 24 dimes. Brown is consistently getting 10+ points, and Bynum is remaining as a 10-10 guy. Lakers were down 62-39 at halftime. However Artest, Gasol, and Blake were not willing to give up and they contributed to the 65 points scored in the 2nd half. Courtney Lee had a notable performance, since he has been averaging 3.0 PPG, but tonight he came up big and scored ten. Lakers lost this one, due to Brooks crazy shots from downtown going in everytime. Lakers are now 6-1, and the Rockets take the Western Conference Crown, as they are now 6-0. Yao Ming did come down with an injury, but it was a minor one. Lakers now look to have a boost in confidence as they face the Bulls on Nov. 21st.
