This retro T-Wolves jersey is one ugly uniform :) Very good win, balanced scoring, decent play from the youth. You're team is A+ offensively, I envy you for that. Keep it up!

Yep, as I said to Lamrock, I'm actually thinking in trading Blake.

Yeah I don't like those Wolves retros either. Must download some from the Patches section! Thanks a lot man!

Thanks bro, Bayless, future starter... I'm also adjusting the minutes to give more playing time to Webster, he has been awesome.

Uprise [9-1] :: Hornets held to franchise-low

Thierry's Blog: Hornets held to franchise-low
TrailBlazers.com | November 13th, 2009

Welcome back to the blog, Blazers followers. Topic today: In his young six-year career, Emeka Okafor has played five with Charlotte, and this is his first in New Orleans. But he's also a man with great dignity. Well, I don't know what that fan said to him tonight, but I do know that this is what Louisiana News reports Okafor saying about the situation after the game: “If they didn't kick him out of this arena, he would have seen me off the court. I will not accept that. For him to call a black man like me, 'a monkey', in the middle of the game, he was in the second row, for him to stand up and call, 'Meka the monkey,' is an insult. It insulted my integrity, my body, my family, my race.” Holding his thumb and forefinger a quarter-inch apart, Ike said he was “this close” to going in the stands. Hornets owner George Shinn said he personally contacted a security official who brought in police to escort the fan from the arena. The incident was turned over to NBA Security. Right now we are aboard the plane to Charlotte to play the Bobcats... and this was fast, a Hornets fan, whose name was not written, but this guy made a letter to Okafor. It reads, in part: “I would like to take a moment of your time to offer a complete and unconditional apology for my poor behavior, and in particular, my poor choice of words. I am by no means a racist, and if you only knew me better you would never begin to have those thoughts. What I am guilty of is poor judgment in the use of words.” This fan also said that he'll pay $5,000 to the charity of Okafor's choice and won't attend another NBA game until Emeka gives the OK. At least it didn't end up with punch trading in the stands.

By halftime, the New Orleans Hornets were done. Brandon scored 15 points - mostly with James Posey trying to guard him - in the first half and finished with 21 for Portland, to coast to a 87-55 triumph, holding the Hornets to a franchise-low in scoring on Friday night. New Orleans' loss was compounded by an incident in the second quarter involving Emeka Okafor, as I said in the beginning. “These games are difficult. If you don't have everybody with a laser-like focus on one task, which is playing like a team and competing hard, it gets even more difficult,” Hornets coach Jeff Bower said. Okafor had 15 rebounds but was nowhere to be found on offense, finishing with only 2 points. “I expect this is an incident that's isolated and will be dealt with as such. I love the way Emeka has played so far for us. He was a leader and he was focused, forming a great duo with Chris (Paul). He had a great demeanor and he's one of our better players and that's what we expect from him every night. But when something like this happens, you just can't concentrate,” Bower added. Brandon also had six rebounds, and I let him spend the entire fourth quarter relaxing on the bench. We built a 21-point lead entering the third quarter. Greg, who was able to maneuver inside at will, had 14 points and six rebounds. Paul had 15 points and Peja Stojakovic 10 for the Hornets.

I replaced Brandon, who went 7-of-8 from the floor in the first half, with 20 seconds to go in the third. “I'm not very good at sitting, but it was good,” Brandon said. “We did a good job jumping on a team and not letting up. It was great to finally get a blowout.” With the Hornets tired, or, I don't know what, to block or impede their way, we drove to the basket at will in the first half for layups, and of course, a few dunks by Brandon. We led by 13 in the first quarter and extended the lead to 18 when Brandon blasted down the left side for a layup with 3:20 to go before halftime. New Orleans, though, cut 10 points off our lead Paul scored 10 points in the third, starting a 14-4 run. In his first game back since his 1-game suspension, Steve scored 10 points with six assists over 32 easy minutes. “It's great we could rest our bodies,” said LaMarcus, who only had 6 points, but 2 key blocks in the 14-4 Hornets run I mentioned earlier; he also sat out, half of the fourth quarter. “The more rest, the better. That means we're playing well, especially the starters.”

LaMarcus slipped on the floor late in the third quarter and appeared to be slow getting up. But he dismissed concerns of an injury, saying he relaxed because he saw his teammates were back to protect against the fast break. “It was just a slide into second base,” he said. “The umpire said I was safe.” Lamar was the only Blazer starter to play in the fourth, scoring 8 points in all, but ending the night with 10 rebounds. Jerryd scored 7 with three rebounds, and I also gave Jeff Pendergraph his first minutes of the season with the win already on the books; he came off the bench to help with 4 points in only 3 minutes. Peja took the microphone before the opening tip, alluding to last season's disappointment and promising something better in this 2009-10 season. We scored the first eight points of the game, but the worst part is that we couldn't score a 3. Not even one 3-pointer! We must work on that... just the presence of Blazers legend Clyde Drexler seemed to energize us and leave the Hornets in awe. “His presence helped us out a great deal,” Martell said. “Just knowing that he was in the stands, that ignited us. He intimidated the Hornets, for sure!” Paul said: “This was the worst game of the year for us. We just didn’t compete. I got a good game, so did Peja, but nobody else stepped up. No one was intimidated by Drexler, come on... but maybe he provided inspiration to Portland. It's looked like mysticism.” When Paul says that nobody else stepped up, he's acting like a true leader. I can say, that if we come in now with the same intensity that the guys have been playing this first ten games -- other than the L to Denver -- we definitely can make a run for the title.

Music: John Legend (Ft. Andre 3000) - “Green Light”

Next game: As I said, we are aboard the plane to play against the Charlotte Bobcats (3-5, 4th Southeast, 10th East) at Time Warner Cable Arena. Don't forget, all our 82 games will be broadcast on the Trail Blazers Broadcasting flagship station, 95.5 FM The Game. Brian Wheeler, in his 12th season calling the play-by-play, and analyst Antonio Harvey, in his fifth season, will call the games, home and away. On television, KGW-TV and Comcast SportsNet will air a total of 75 Trail Blazers games with veteran analyst Mike Rice, in his fifth full season on television after spending the previous 15 years on the radio, and Mike Barrett, in his seventh, calling the action. Between KGW, Comcast SportsNet, TNT, ESPN and ABC, all 82 games will be televised for the third year in a row, and the third time in franchise history. In addition, all games will be available in High-Definition. Some interesting facts about the Bobcats:

• We are 6-4 all-time against them, 3-2 at Rose Garden and also 3-2 on the road;
• We have defeated Charlotte by an average of 13.7 points in its six wins in the series. The Bobcats have never defeated us by double digits;
• LaMarcus led the team with 23.0 points (66.7% FG) and 2.00 steals to go with 7.5 rebounds in two games against Charlotte last season, while Greg added 11.0 points and team bests of 8.5 boards (5.0 offensive) and 1.50 blocks in two contests;
• Charlotte knocked off the Blazers in overtime, 102-97, on January 17, 2009, behind Gerald Wallace’s 31 points, the most scored in a game by a Bobcat in series history;
Raymond Felton led all current Bobcats who appeared in both series game last season with 7.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds (tied) to go with 11.5 points. Raja Bell averaged 13.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in two contests... Bobcats head coach Larry Brown has posted a 30-36 (.455) career record in 66 games against the Trail Blazers;
• Coincidences: Juwan Howard signed with the Trail Blazers after playing 39 games for Charlotte in 2008-09, totaling averages of 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 11.5 minutes... he got waived before the game against Minnesota; Nicolas Batum and Bobcats forward Boris Diaw are both members of the French National Team, which finished fifth in the 2009 European Championships; Charlotte forward Stephen Graham played 14 games for the Trail Blazers in 2006-07, averaging 3.2 points and 1.5 rebounds.

Now 9-1 man, first in the league! I played a lot of defense and also Paul and specially West didn't have a good night (West: 2-of-17 :P) The Emeka-monkey part, trying to make the story interesting... don't be surprised if a player gets killed or sent to prison soon :lol:

Uprise [9-2] :: Bobcats snap our 8-game winning streak

Thierry's Blog: Bobcats snap our 8-game winning streak
TrailBlazers.com | November 15th, 2009

Welcome back to my blog... For those of you, Blazer Maniacs out there, with an Apple iPhone or iPod Touch, you are likely as obsessed with applications for them as I am. I decided to see what the world had to offer for Blazers related material... the outcome was pretty grim. I did find a few, but nothing extremely fulfilling aside from this mini-bobblehead of Brandon (which of course is bobble-able just by shaking your little iPhone around). Neat. The Brandon Bobblehead ($0.99)... pretty self explanatory. An application that gives your screen a mini-bobblehead which you can shake around and laugh at the creepiness of it for about 5 minutes. There also LeBron, Kobe, Yao, KG, AI, Dwight, among other players. Luckily it's only $0.99, because another penny more would have made this a ripoff. iFan Portland ($0.99) basically gives you a special application dedicated to the Blazers. It populates a news feed with the latest Blazers news, standings, playoff news, and stats. Probably worth purchasing just to have it all in one place. Then a free Blazers schedule... ummm... this would be the schedule at your fingertips. Sounds like some Blazers-worthy programmer needs to get their little keyboard fingers dirty and whip up something special for us all to download. It’d be a goldmine I would think... oh, and by the way, none of those are affiliate links or anything dirty like that; just direct links to the app if you want them. About me, I almost have a case of food poisoning this morning. I ate pasta and crab meat last night and I felt sick today at training, but luckily nothing happened. Oh! Also, be sure to check LaMarcus' assist mix I found on YouTube, from 2007... some sick passes by Grapevine.

The Charlotte Bobcats quickly discouraged any Portland fans who hoped to see the Blazers get 9 consecutive wins. Portland had barely started booing Gerald Wallace before he and the Bobcats made nine of their first 10 shots of the second quarter and were up by 12 before the end of the third. Charlotte ten held off every Portland rally from there and won 97-88 on Saturday night, ending the Blazers's 8-game winning streak. “The important thing for us is to get off to a good start. We were able to do that and keep the tiny Blazers crowd out of it for the most part,” said Wallace, who scored 16 as the Bobcats now start a three-game East road trip. With this win they pulled slightly ahead of Detroit for the 8th seed in the Western Conference. Raja Bell had 17 points and three key treys, Flip Murray added 14 points from the bench and Raymond Felton scored 13 and ten assists for the Bobcats. Our winning streak ended with a pretty big thud as the we were never able to get closer than 9 until the final few minutes. They went out and buried us right away.

We got within eight points down the stretch, but the Bobcats didn't let us any closer. I even saw one of our fans, mar the already ugly loss, throw a beer on the court after a dunk by Wallace with 44 seconds left. Brandon once again led the team with 19 points and five assists, and Lamar had 16 points and six rebounds; LaMarcus scored 15 points, and Steve and Greg posted 10 apiece. Wallace shouldered the usual boos and by the end the remaining fans were mostly wearing orange, and chanting “G-Force!”. Wallace also had two rebounds (a season-low) and three assists, even with a plantar fasciitis that bothered him and kept him from playing the second quarter. “I think we knew how tough they are, they were in top of the West, and what kind of energy they would come out with,” Felton said. D.J. Augustin and Tyson Chandler scored 9 and 8, respectively, for the Bobcats, with the point guard adding six assists and the former Bull and Hornet center, 18 rebounds. They had us scrambling from the beginning, going 8-for-11 in the first quarter (ended up tied at 18) and shutting down every mini-run we made until it was too late. Every time we made a small dent in the lead, they answered with a 3-pointer. Bell had 3 and Augustin and Murray 2 apiece. We made a few mini-runs to cut into the lead, but Charlotte never let us put together one big push. “We got them in a situation where things weren't working well for them on the offensive end,” Bobcats coach Larry Brown said. “They were a little bit out of sync.”

We got closer than 9 until LaMarcus's turnaround jumper cut the lead to 89-81 with 4:32 remaining. Felton followed that with a 22-foot jumper, but fouled Steve on a 3-pointer at the other end. Steve made the free throw to cut the lead to 93-87, but Bell quickly stopped the momentum with a lay-up over Greg. “We were rolling at that point. We came back, made a little bit of a run, and then Raja and Raymond started hitting some tough shots. They both did what they do best, they had a lot of layups, they pretty much went where they wanted tonight,” Brandon said. “I tried to be aggressive. I was just trying to get in a rhythm, but it wasn't enough.”

Grapevine's passes. Nice vision!

Next game: Monday, at Atlanta (5-5, 2nd Southeast, 6th East) against Joe Johnson, Mike Bibby and company. All our 82 games will be broadcast on the Trail Blazers Broadcasting flagship station, 95.5 FM The Game. History against the Hawks:

• We are 49-45 all-time against Atlanta, 32-15 at home but, down 30-17 at Philips Center;
• Behind 18 points from Greg and 17 by Brandon, we downed the Hawks, 87-76, in Portland on Nov. 3. We end our series with the Hawks before any other team, as two of our first three games vs. Eastern Conference foes are against them;
• Portland and Atlanta split the series in 2008-09, with both teams winning at home for the first time since 2001-02;
• We have won 13 of the last 16 meetings against the Hawks, dating back to 1998;
• Brandon led the team with 28.0 points (56.1% FG) and 5.0 assists in two contests vs. Atlanta a season ago, while LaMarcus added 21.5 points (57.1% FG) and 8.5 rebounds (5.5 offensive) in two games. Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 28.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.50 steals (tied) in two contests against the Trail Blazers a season ago. Mike Bibby contributed 21.0 points (57.1% FG) per game;
• Coincidences: our backup center Joel played 12 games (all starts) for the Hawks in 2003-04, averaging 4.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.42 blocked shots and 26.2 minutes; Greg and Atlanta forward Othello Hunter played together on Ohio State’s NCAA runner-up team in 2006-07, falling to Hawks forward/center Al Horford and the Florida Gators in the national championship; current Hawks GM Rick Sund held the same role in Seattle while our current GM, Nate McMillan, was head coach of the squad.

Bobcats are playing good, fighting for the 8th seed.

Thanks man... yep 8 wins in a row, that's good. A buzzer-beater was needed to decide the winner against the Hawks.

Thierry's Blog: Jerryd's buzzer-beater tames Hawks
TrailBlazers.com | November 16th, 2009

Welcome back to my blog, fellas... First of all, I want to thank all of you for checking this. The number of responses blew me away. I love going through all the comments, and you all made good points. We've got some fans with good basketball IQ, that's for sure. We took the flight to Portland yesterday afternoon after losing to the Bobcats. The team went through an intense practice this morning, and then headed for the airport. It's always great hopping aboard the plane; there was certainly a buzz among the players, as they scattered out in the back of the plane. I always get a kick out of watching the new guys choose their seats, like Jeff Pendergraph, Patrick Mills, Dante Cunningham. The people who have been around for a while have their favorite spots, and their routines, and the newcomers are always sensative not to invade someone else's area, like riding the school bus in your childhood, remember? Me, assistant coaches and management personnel sit in the front of the plane, broadcasters take the middle, and the players take the back. We fly on a 757, with plenty of room... it's nice to have a little room when you've got it. We get awfully spoiled, flying on the nicest plane in sports.

I always arrive very early to our terminal before we take off, and I was surprised to see who beat me to the airport today: the first members of the actual team to show up were GM Nate McMillan, and Martell. Nate is always there early but it's the first time I see Martell be early. We had a couple of different options for lunch, as usual. I was taking a walk up the main aisle and noticed Brandon eating a bowl of Froot Loops. He's already on to that tradition. You'd be shocked at how many players turn down steak for Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes or Cocoa Krispies on our team. We absolutely plow through cereal, and being I'm a cereal guy as well, I totally respect that. We hadn't been at the hotel for 15 minutes, when I saw LaMarcus in the lobby. He had workout clothes on, and was heading for the gym to stretch. He told me he felt a pain in his back, and is not going to push it. He did practice with the team before the flight, and looked very good. The back did get a little stiff, and he sat out the end of practice. I'm gonna take the air tomorrow night, November 17th (KGW-8 in the Portland area, and the Trail Blazers Television Network) at 7:00, before we fly back to Portland to face Detroit, at ESPN Sportscenter. The GM will be on the show with us, who will join me at about 7:15. I will let him know, on behalf of the team, the Kellogg's cereals on the plane are very much appreciated. Check the video I bring to you tonight: the greatest buzzer-beaters in the franchise history. Maybe we can add tonight's to the mix.

Jerryd crossed half of the court with Wally Szczerbiak pressed to him tighter than the clinging hope of a 1.3-second miracle, almost stepping on the 3-point line. The Blazers guard seemed bottled up by the Hawks' swingman, ball bobbling away as odds exponentially increased with every inch of airspace between it and Jerryd's hands. But he bolted forward, snatching the ball out of the air. He transferred the downward momentum into a shooting motion, flinging the sphere with wicked backspin in a low-arcing line drive that swished cleanly through the hoop as the Blazers squad, me included, exploded. The shot was waved off on the floor, causing a tense 2 1/2-minute replay review by the officials, during which Jerryd stood well away from the crowd surrounding the monitors atop the scorer's table. When replays clearly showed the ball had barely escaped from his fingertips, the call was reversed, awarding Portland a 104-103 victory on Monday night, as success shredded improbablity's tightly woven grasp. Now wasn't that fun? Jerryd heated up in a hurry, and Atlanta couldn't stop him when it mattered most.

Jerryd, who had 7 of his 10 points in the fourth quarter, converted the winner over Szczerbiak (finished with 6 points in his Hawks debut) from just outside the arc. By the time it went through the net, he and his teammates were already headed to the locker room after handing Atlanta its second straight loss. “Wally was on me pretty tight there,” Jerryd said. “I took a hard dribble at him and got him to step back. That freed me up a little bit. It felt good coming off.” Officials reviewed the basket before confirming the ruling on the floor that the shot came before the horn. “He just made a tough shot,” Miller said. “You've got to give him credit.” The Hawks lost their last game when Chris Paul to give the New Orleans Hornets an 122-115 victory. Given Jerryd's shooting woes in the first three quarters, it would have been hard to forecast him making the winner; he missed his 2 shots before getting untracked in the fourth quarter, when he went 4-for-4 from the field, including the key 3-pointer. Jerryd had a few shots that felt really good, but they just didn't fall. That's the worst, when shots feel good, and they're not going down. You really don't want to change things up. In the last period, the main thing was to get to the basket and get some easy baskets, and then the basket gets a little bigger. Joe Johnson led Atlanta with a game-high 31 points, connecting on 13-of-23 shots.

Mike Bibby scored 20, including a perfect 5-of-5 beyond the arc. Brandon had a team-high of 30 points and six assists for us, including eight points in the final 1:34. His basket inside with 6.7 seconds left tied it at 101, set the stage for Jerryd's jumper. Josh Smith and Jamal Crawford 17 and 13 points, respectively, for the Hawks, with Smith making a lay-up over Greg to put the game 103-101 with 3.4 remaining, despite playing the fourth quarter with a dislocated finger. “I thought the whole game we were on our heels,” Atlanta coach Mike Woodson said. “The latter part of the third quarter we started chipping away and chipping away, and then in the fourth quarter, we got some more.” The Hawks held double-digit leads in both halves and led 79-74 after three but we opened the fourth quarter with 13 straight points. LaMarcus scored six points in the surge. “It just strayed away from us,” Crawford said. “I guess we thought we had the game at the end.” Atlanta led by 9 in the first half before holding on for a 57-52 advantage at the break. Johnson scored 16 points in the half, connecting on 6-of-10 from the field. We finished the night shooting 54 percent compared to 47 percent for the Hawks; they managed 13-of-22 3-pointers against our 8-of-17. We also had 29 bench points against Atlanta's 18, and 33 assists against Hawks' 24. Lamar had a double-double of 14 and 12 rebounds while Steve had another, with 10 and 14 assists.

The Greatest Buzzer-Beaters In Trail Blazers History.

Next game: Against Detroit (5-6, 4th Central, 10th East), this Wednesday at the Rose Garden. All our 82 games will be broadcast on the Trail Blazers Broadcasting flagship station, 95.5 FM The Game. How are we doing against the Pistons?

• We are 52-47 all-time, 32-17 at home but, down 30-20 at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Wednesday's game marks the 100th meeting between the teams in series history;
• We swept the series, 2-0, in 2008-09 for the first time since 2002-03 and the 11th time in series history. Plus, the Pistons have lost three straight games in Portland. The last regular-season meeting against the Pistons was on January 23, 2009, at Detroit, with the Blazers winning 84-83, with a jumper by Trout;
• LaMarcus led all scorers with 26.5 points (55.0% FG) in two games against Detroit last season, his highest scoring average against any team a year ago. Brandon scored 19 points in his only appearance vs. the Pistons, while Steve posted 10.0 points and a series-high 8.5 assists in two contests;
Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince led Detroit with 18.0 points vs. us last season, while Rodney Stuckey notched 14.0 points and a team-best 6.0 assists, but 5.5 turnovers. As a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, new Piston Charlie Villanueva led all players in Portland’s 2008-09 series against Milwaukee with 24.5 points and 9.5 rebounds;
• Coincidences: Steve played college ball alongside Pistons forward Chris Wilcox at the University of Maryland for two seasons, including the Terrapins’ 2002 National Championship team; Greg, in 2007, and Detroit center Kwame Brown, in 2001 by the Washington Wizards, were both selected with the first overall pick in the NBA Draft.
