Part I
[12-3] Houston Rockets 105-98 Oklahoma City Thunder [11-5]
With the scoring load lightened for him, K-Mart was able to dish the ball more | Yao's best game in just 24 minutes.
Third in the league in scoring, 33 points is no surprise from KD | Jeff Green had a dunk fest this game.
Bucket-fest is a good enough phrase to describe the first half of this game for the Rockets. They were shooting over 50% from the field. Kevin Martin led the way with a team-high 27 points, on a decent 9/19 shooting from the field. Yao Ming had his best game yet. In just 24 minutes, he scored 24 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and blocked three shots. He came up huge in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 of his points there.
In the third quarter, the Thunder came out playing excellent defense on the Rockets, holding them to under 40% shooting for the quarter. The Rockets weren't getting to the foul line, and Luis Scola's meager eight points on 3/11 shooting didn't help matters either. Kevin Durant's game-high 33 points contributed to this third quarter run, and Jeff Green chipped in 22 points. All would get exciting in the fourth quarter.
Despite allowing a lot of scoring from the Thunder's starters, the Rockets had 11 blocked shots compared to the Thunder's two. Yao Ming came up big in the last six minutes of play; he helped the Rockets pull away by going aggresively to the hoop, getting to the foul line, and knocking down his free throws. Yao's clutch play helped seal the game, as the Rockets avenge their overtime loss from back in Oklahoma City. "I'm proud of what Yao has done to this point in the season. He has avoided injuries, he's playing aggressively, and comes up big in the 24 minutes he's playing. If this keeps up, we'll let him play on back-to-back games," said Rockets' GM Daryl Morey who had bottom-row seats watching the game.Player of the Game-

[13-3] Houston Rockets 103-108 Dallas Mavericks [9-7]
Dirk's clutch plays in overtime sealed the deal | Aaron Brooks' erratic shooting (3/13) was a real killer in this game.
After being down for most of the game, the Mavericks made a huge fourth quarter push to tie the game. The Rockets shot miserably all game. By halftime, they were shooting 30% from the field, but their ability to get to the foul line compensated for that. They went 30/35 from there, and that's how they were able to stay competitive all game. Also, Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd spent a lot of the game in foul trouble, Dirk picking up his fifth foul mid-fourth quarter.
The Rockets started the second half on a 10-0 run, but would relinquish the lead early in the fourth quarter. After many defensive stops late in the fourth, Kevin Martin had a chance to win the game. Tied at 92 apiece, he pulled up at the elbow, but his shot rolled off the rim.
In overtime, both teams started by trading buckets. A three by Aaron Brooks put the Rockets up 101-100. Dirk Nowitzki scored what felt like a bunch of buckets in this overtime period, in fact he scored eight points here. A three-point play by Caron Butler helped the Mavericks ice the game, to put them up 106-101. Without Yao Ming, it's amazing that the Rockets came to Dallas, played no defense in overtime, shot a miserable 36% compared to 49% from the Mavs, and still made this game competitive.Player of the Game-

Aaron Brooks' Contract Extension (Or Lack Thereof)
Posted by Axel Gomez, December 1, 2010 at 1:00 PM
Yes, get used to the banner. We bleed Rocket red here, literally and figuratively, and in my first blog post, let's discuss Aaron Brooks's situation about his contract.
Houston Rockets point guard Aaron Brooks has stated that he's not happy in Houston. The fact that he didn't get a contract extension has a lot to do with it. The first of November was the deadline for him to get one, but Rockets GM Daryl Morey thought against it. "We're doing what's best for the Rockets. There were many other players that could've had a contract extension as well, including Yao Ming, but we want to be able to stay flexible for the offseason," Morey said.
Brooks said, "I'm not getting enough credit for what I do here. I pass the rock, score the ball, and make three-pointers. People still give their attention to Yao and K-Mart, and that's just not right. I'm the floor general, the one who initiates the possessions. Not getting a contract extension just makes me more unsatisfied, especially after a breakout season last season. With a potential lockout looming next season, I wanted to make sure my place on a team and my contract were secure."
When asked about the situation, he said, "I understand. The franchise wants to do what's best for themselves, and this is just the cold business side of basketball. But I mean, when you only have one other point guard on the team, you would think they at least would've considered negotiating a new contract."
Aaron Brooks averaged 19.6 points and 5.3 assists per game last season, and won the Most Improved Player award, the first player to win the award as a Rocket. Brooks thought that he'd get an extension after what he did last season, but not even that was enough to land one. The fact that a month has gone by and it still bothers him must mean that he was really looking forward to that extension.
He hasn't been shooting well his past four games. 3/12, 9/18, 6/21, and 5/13 are his numbers from the field. That's a combined 23/64 from the field, good for 36%. It's easy to tell his frustrations are carrying over to his performance on the floor. Despite that, he's averaging 20 ppg, 6.5 apg, and shooting 47% from the field for the season. That field goal percentage can plummet, however, if he doesn't get his act together.
Some of AB's teammates have begun to feel some sympathy towards him. "Aaron's a great player. He is always an excellent option on offense, and this season he's begun to pass the ball more. I hope all turns out okay for him," said backup point guard Kyle Lowry.
Aaron Brooks will be a restricted free agent next season, and unless he gets his act together in the court, his future in Houston is foggy.

This is a smart move by the Rockets. It's smart to not continue paying a shot-chucking black guy who shits all over your team. Too bad Sterling couldn't do the same with a certain Clipper. At least it's better than paying a gay player.Posted by The Real K-Mart (Kenyon sucks!), December 1, 2010 at 3:50 pm:
Man, that's racist. Stop bitching about Baron and worry about building a team that doesn't fail at basketball, Sterling.
Aaron, stop whining about not getting a contract extension, at least be a professional about it and play well. You do realize your contract year is when you have to play at your best to make sure a team signs you next season? But no, you just continue your shot-chucking ways and it's real frustrating to watch you play. I'll be happy once you're off the team.Posted by AB, December 1, 2010 at 4:34 pm:
@ Definitely not Donald Sterling, Baron's beard is worth more money than your fucking Clippers!
@ The Real K-Mart (Kenyon sucks!), who's the one who jacks up 20 shots a game?Posted by The Real K-Mart (Kenyon sucks!), December 2, 2010 at 3:35 am:
