Tositos™ takes a look at the keys to winning game five of the 2011 NBA Finals between the Washington Wizards and Oklahoma City Thunder.
•The first three games of the the series were so close it could of been anybody's win, infact if either team had shot one or two more basket's they could be 3-0 up in the series, Washington in game four had Oklahoma's number from the start and looked like the far better side, if they win this game and take a 3-2 series lead, they then have 2 games back on their court to wrap the title up, the Wizards will need to hustle just as much as they did in the previous game.
•Everybody knows that John Wall is the reason why the Wizards are where they are today. Wall has played like a veteran all season long and has looked like an ever better player in the playoffs, he's already schooled Derrick Rose in the Eastern Conference Finals, now's a chance to win the championship that he has long wanted since wanting to be a professional basketball player, the Thunder have a hard time trying to eliminate the advantages of Wall being on the court, if the Wizards can gameplan and execute properly the Thunder might be in for another John Wall showing.
•Josh Howard is one of those underrated players, he hasn't really been considered as one of the reasons why the Wizards are in the Finals, he's made some nice three pointers and has looked great in this Finals, Howard is one of those guys that let's his play do the talking. Howard needs to have a big game tonight if the Wizards want to take control of the series again. Look for John Wall to be feeding Howard with three pointers and also look for Howard assisting Andray Blatche.
•After winning two straight games they played a pretty poor game in game four, it's their last home game of the finals and will need to come out with the win if they want any chance to win the Finals, nobody want's to go back to the team's home court for games 6 and 7 down in the series, it's a recipe for disaster and the Thunder have the talent to win, they have already beaten Washington in D.C. but will preferably want to end the series in 6 games not 7.
•I was speaking to the Thunder's coach last night, he kept telling me that it's absolutely critical that the Thunder defend well and not allow John Wall to have the type of game he want's, the Thunder can't be allowed to slouch as they did the previous game and although they are favorites to win the game tonight to take the series lead again, it's any given game and there is no such thing as an already booked win. Look for the Thunder to double team John Wall all night and limit the points in the paint which has been a huge problem in the Finals this month.
•If the Thunder will want to win, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant are their go-to-players to get the critical points, Westbrook hasn't had his best games the past two matchups against the Wizards and neither has Durant, however they are still dangerous basketball players and will keep on ballin' even if the team is down by 20 or 30-so points, the Thunder will need to counter-attack the Wizards gameplan it should be easy and is vital since the Thunder has the better roster.
•Tostitos Prediction: Thunder win, 113-102

OKLAHOMA ― For a team that took the lead for just the first time in the game with 7:21 left in the second quarter did quite well not to relinquish the lead again for the entire game.
Behind Kevin Durant's 31 points, Russell Westrbook's 19 assists and Nenad Krstic's 15 rebounds, the Oklahoma City disposed the Washington Wizards, 136-124 in game four of the 2011 NBA finals at the Thunderdome Thursday night to give the Oklahoma City Thunder a 3-2 series lead.
Despite having 48 fewer shots, the Oklahoma City Thunder were far more accurate converting 54% and 45% of their field-goals and three-pointers, the Wizards had one of their most inaccurate performences of the season converting just 42% of their field-goals and 35% of their three-pointers.
"We didn't play too well tonight," said a rejected John Wall who was fouled out of the game with four minutes left to play, Wall recorded 28 points, 12 assists and 7 steals. Wall was held to just five points in the second half but isn't about to make excuses.
"Look we as a team played bad, I didn't play well enough, I could of done a lot better, they shut me down we were'nt able to shut down them, now we have just two opportunities left to get it right, they're a very good team and it's going to be pretty hard."
Even though Russell Westbrook turned the ball over a season high 14 times, the Wizards were not able to take advantage as Josh Howard hit 14 of 30 and Wall 11 of 24, not good numbers, especially for two players, one who's already a superstar and is considered one of the best in the league.
"We obviously didn't gameplan effectively enough for the win, we were beat good by them tonight and now we're going to have to work a lot harder for the win in the next game, the only advantage we have left now is that we have just home games remaining," Washington Wizards head coach Flip Saunders said.
"No Idea what went wrong," said Josh Howard who scored a team high 35 points and played also for a team high 37 minutes, their star player John Wall played for 27 minutes. That effected the Wizards more than they would of thought, Durant, Westbrook and Harden played 35, 36 and 36 minute games, the two former scored over 30 points while the latter recorded 14 points.
"Were going to have to play a lot better now, the season is on-the-line now," said John Wall.
