Sure. LeBron winning it all the time makes you want to puke from all the fun doesn't it?
Radioman wrote:Everyone says LeBron always wins the trophy in 2k11, but however he is putting up high stats though, so i guess he deserves it.

Kevin Martin is a true scorer for your Game but he need to step up a little more in rebounding assists and maybe steals. Maybe next year ? :D

His numbers do define MVP, but the Heat would still be a dominant team without LeBron. Looking at Durant, Rose, and Martin and how much they really carried their team and that is the TRUE definition of MVP.

Yeah, he single-handedly led OKC to a good record and a second round appearance (Westbrook didn't do so well in the playoffs).

Chapter 18 - Lights Out

karlsanada10, injuring him would be for the better of the league.

So apparently, Games 3 & 4 recap will be up tomorrow, still working on it. Here's the next installment of the plotline to keep you busy. :cheeky:

Chapter 18 - Lights Out

"Well it was a much more lively effort this game by the Dallas Mavericks in Game Two, but unfortunately, the Rockets were just better. Time is running out as Aaron Brooks will dribble out the last of the game clock," Mike Breen said as ESPN's broadcast was about to end. "As the series shifts to Dallas, I expect Houston will have a much tougher time getting a win, but this is a nice 2-0 head start for the Rockets," Jeff Van Gundy said. "Kevin Martin has just been too much to handle for Dallas. They were expectin' him to score so they brought the double-team on him early on. He showed off his underrated passing skills gettin' 10 assists. But as coach said, it will be tougher in Dallas," Mark Jackson said.

"Not much sign of any referee bias. Do you think their backup plan also failed?" Axel asked Jerome. They were sitting in the middle tier section of the Toyota Center, along with Luigi who had bombarded them with questions about basketball the entire game, not being used to the sport.

"Why is that Brooks guy just standing there with the ball, try to score dammit!" he yelled out, also adding in some swearing in Italian. "The Rockets have enough points for the victory, it would be an insult to the Mavericks if he attempted a shot," Axel told him.

"To be honest Axel, when Luigi and I were in the mafia, we never had a backup plan, not that we were aware of anyway. You did read the news on the internet about Joey Crawford being found with the weapons, right?" Jerome said in response to Axel's first question. "No, I was too caught up in the game to bother checking my phone, much less who texted me." Axel took his phone out and did in fact get a few messages.

"Morey, Adriana, Les Alexander, and from some unknown number," Axel said. "Read that one, see who it is," Jerome told him. "It says: You've received a false alarm. You can have Houston, but the battle will be won in Dallas. Former Commish will rise! Odd," Axel read the message, "I wonder how someone got a hold of my number. It's suggesting that there will be action in Dallas."

"Let me get to dat. Crawford was let go by authorities in New York," Jerome said. "What!? How?" Axel asked. "Bribing, obviously, didn't mention it in the article I read. We did it all the time when we were in the mafia, bribing. I reckon they'll also bribe all of those select few who are aware of this to not tell anyone, or at least threaten them with death, and sell it as someone putting weapons in his briefcase, like we did. Trust me, when the mafia threatens you, they mean business. Luigi and I have seen too much of their punishment, things I've seen them do still haunts me in my dreams. Now going back to the text you received, we will need to make our way to Dallas to make sure the officiating is nice and clean," Jerome said.

"I'm getting a headache talking about all thees bribing and basketball and black people. Why don't we go out and get some women?" Luigi blurted out, as all three were headed for the exits. "We on a spy mission Luigi! We can't lose our focus or else we'll fail this mission! Corruption must be put to an end!" Jerome snapped at him.

--------------------------

A mafia henchman was making his way towards his boss' office in the secret warehouse. "Boss! It's done! Crawford and Bavetta are on their way to Dallas, and they have everything ready for Game Three. They've also got Mike Callahan and Steve Javie bribed and threatened to officiate and fix Game Four, sir," the henchman explained.

Tim Donaghy laughed. "Excellent. Five million dollars are on the line here. We can't let Houston take any of the games in Dallas. Make sure, that Joey comes back to Houston for Game Five. That will be when we attack. Things will go according to plan, or else," Donaghy said.

"That damn Houstonian Axel will pay dearly for what he did to me. The Lakers may be out of the playoffs, but remember Donaghy, ultimate plan here now is to have the Heat win it all. Seeing as how that series is tied, everything is going according to plan," David Stern said, in Donaghy's office.

"If you find Axel, make sure you get him back here. There is a score I need to settle with him," Stern said, laughing an evil laugh as the henchman nodded. He had to pause to gag because of the amount of dust piling up at the seldom used warehouse office, and continued with the laugh. "Ah," Stern said coughing, "we need some maintenance and cleaning here, don't ya think?"

"We rarely use this office anyways, our meetings go on in the main hall. I don't wanna pay some scrub to clean for us, especially if he'll find out what were up to," answered Donaghy.

--------------------------

Sitting through Game Four, there began a bit of suspicion for Axel, Jerome and Luigi, especially during the third quarter. "What in the bloody hell, man. They're making that Boobois scrub look like a stud down there by giving him so many free throws. There is obviously some favoritism going on here," Jerome said, standing up from his seat and waving a fist in the air. The fans at the American Airlines Center looked at him in odd ways, but those odd ways were very unfriendly.

"Jerome, calm the fuck down, you're making a scene. Yes, maybe there is some bias going on here and those fouls are being called by Joe Crawford, but at least they're not terribly called fouls. I see some contact in the paint and the Rockets just need to play smarter defense," Axel muttered.

Jerome sat back down, but did not look convinced. In fact, he got up, muttered something about getting his seventh beer, and instead, went down to the bottom row seats to try and do something. Axel and Luigi both got up to chase after him.

Jerome was almost to the court, when a security guard stopped him, blocking his way. "There's some cheating going on in that court and I'll be damned if I don't stop it!" Jerome yelled at the guard's face.

Axel got in front of Jerome and apologized to the guard saying, "Sorry, he's had a little too much to drink tonight."

"We'll have to ask all three of you to get out if he is going to be a hazard to us all," said the guard in a very authoritative tone. He pushed both Axel and Jerome forward to indicate that he was going to escort all three of them out of the arena. "But sir, Luigi and I are perfectly sober, why not just escort Jerome out?" Axel asked the guard in protest, shoving him away.

"Who will take care of him outside?" the guard asked. "I want to watch the game in peace. Please, I'll keep him under control, just let us go back to our seats, and you will be saved from a bloody nose," Axel threatened the guard, irritated by the fact that he sounded so totalitarian.

The guard just insisted on pushing Jerome, whom was close to falling, and suddenly, picked up Jerome and carried him up the stairs. The crowd hardly noticed; they were too busy watching the game as Dallas began to push their lead out to double digits as the third quarter was coming to an end.

"Get your fuckin' filthy ass police hands off me! You're messin' with the mafia here, foo'!" said Jerome, who began to flail around and gave the guard a good blow to the nose. Axel and Luigi began to follow the guard. They insisted on the guard putting him on the ground, but he just kept going, eventually making their way outside the arena. It was then that the guard put Jerome down, but Axel barely saw Jerome's feet hit the floor before feeling a sudden pain on the back of his head, and then.... the lights turned out.

Game Three Recap
Offensive rebounds can be key down the stretch; Dallas got seven offensive boards in the second half, helping to get themselves some extra opportunities for scoring. Dirk Nowitzki was able to pad his rebounding stats (he had a game high 17 boards) by missing often, going 9/28 from the field and scoring a sub-par 18 points. He was a non-factor in the clutch, however.

Caron Butler was the man for Dallas. He had a game high 31 points along with four boards, as he along with Jason Terry helped Dallas get back into it in the final period. Terry had 16 points, four assists, and three boards.

The fourth quarter was the key factor this game. Houston had a six-point lead before the fourth quarter began, but Dallas began the quarter on a 10-2 run, tying the game and then pushing out to regain the lead. However, the Rockets bounced back nicely going up 90-86 before a three-pointer from Terry (2/5 from range) mixed things up. From then on, both teams began to trade baskets, with Dallas finally acquiring a slight 101-99 lead in the dying seconds, with Jason Kidd being sent to the line. He calmly sank both free throws, putting the game out of reach with just five seconds remaining.

All Houston were left with was a desperation three, in which Yao Ming grabbed the offensive rebound, and converted the bucket to narrow the gap. There was unfortunately no time left to do anything else as Dallas narrowly scrapes by with a win in Game Three.

"There will be times when the best player is not on his game, but that's where his teammates come in. Jason (Terry) and I (Caron Butler) were able to take the game over in the most important time to secure the win," Butler said, proud of his performance.

Nowitzki doesn't have too many poor shooting games like this, so this was a wasted opportunity for Houston. There is time to make some adjustments for Game Four, though.

Game Four Recap

The Rockets began the game red hot. Shooting above 50% from the field, they raced out to a 29-point first quarter, led by Kevin Martin's game high 31 points. Also one to step up this game was Aaron Brooks who scored 14 points, six rebounds, and six assists to take it to Dallas.

Turnovers began to hurt the Rockets as the game progressed, and that allowed Dallas to get right back in it and tie it by halftime. The Rockets had 14 turnovers compared to just six by the Mavericks, as they ran away with 11 steals. "That's the team defense that gets talked about. We finally saw it back in action after what I thought was a somewhat shaky first three games on that end," said head coach Rick Carlisle. Both teams shot an equal 43% from the field, so fingers point at the turnovers stat as the key factor in the game.

Beginning the third quarter, Dallas began a ferocious run in which they outscored the Rockets 34 to 21. Rodrigue Beabouis led the charge scoring 10 of his 14 in that quarter alone. Beaubois played a key role in this run, as early in the quarter Jason Kidd suffered a Severe Ankle Sprain going up for a rebound, and is likely to miss 2-4 weeks of action, definitely the rest of the series. Kidd left with seven points and seven assists. "Kidd's injury gives someone a chance to step up, and that's what Beaubois did. If he can continue with that kind of play, we should hopefully be able to win the series," said Jason Terry.

Dallas eventually pushed their lead to their biggest of the series, 15, and were leading by 13 to start the fourth. Back came the Rockets, however. They chipped the margin down to single digits, eventually coming within three.

The stars, Kevin Martin and Dirk Nowitzki could not hit a shot in the last period. Nowitzki went 0/9 in the final period, not scoring a single point. Martin went 2/8, which is something we're not used to seeing from both players especially in the final quarter.

Dallas acquired a 101-95 lead eventually, but that was when Martin hit a three-pointer to cut the lead to three. Terry was sent to the line and knocked down both free throws. At the other end, Yao Ming converted on a three-point play, as Houston were still in it by two, 101-103. Caron Butler was sent to the line and split a pair of free throws, but with no timeouts remaining, Houston did not have enough time to create a good opportunity and had to settle with a heave that was way off.

Both Butler and Terry bailed out Nowitzki's terrible fourth quarter performance, as Dallas barely just grasped on to the lead escaping with a narrow victory once again. "It was a good effort from my teammates, but I needed to shoot much better if we were gonna come back to steal a game on the road. Now just on to Houston where playing in front of our fans will help," Martin said.

Both very close losses, that always sucks loosing in the clutch time. Even Dirk didnt shoot that well, his rebounds especially in Game 3 - 17! You should not think to long about both Games, i hope you finally take the series.

THIS IS RIGGED! There's no way they could have won! LOL.

But in my 2k10 association, first year was great, but playoffs, we lost to Spurs in 2nd round, or like WCF.(Using Rockets), T-mac and Jefferson shooting threes all over the floor. I mean seriously.o.O But still lost. 2-4. Suckish. Miss those times.lol. I have a life now, though. Sticking up with my player only.

Dallas nearly choked in Game Four; they let a 15-point lead slip. Game Five will be pivotal, though.

Brooks has been shite in the playoffs apart from a couple of good games. Maybe he needs more shot attempts.

Dallas did have the refs in their favor all thanks to Stern and Donaghy.

Yep, Game Five is crucial to both teams. If Dallas wins, it'll be hard to win Game Six on the road, especially when you're fighting oppression from the mafia.

All-NBA Teams next. Then the next two games/conclusion of the WCF. Oh yeah, and I forgot to post the games of the ECF.
