THE FACTS: Both teams had a lot of momentum from wins in their last games and it clearly showed as the game was close throughout. The Cavs were able to pull away at the end of the 1Q, but Baron Davis lead the Clippers on a n 8-0 run to start the 2Q and retake the lead. Former Clipper Randy Foye had something to prove as he continually hit 3Pointer after 3Pointer to keep the Cavs in the game. Antawn Jamison, who just announced his retirement at seasons end, struggled in the 1st Half, but made up for it by scoring all of his 22 points in the 2nd Half. The Clippers teamwork would help give them the lead late in the game, but strong performances from rookie Kyrie Irving going for 33 and Ramon Session going for 30 off the bench allowed them to keep the game close enough to force overtime. Cavs coach Byron Scott used a 4-Guard lineup down the stretch to force the overtime, that lineup consisted of Beno Udrih, Kyrie Irving, Ramon Session, Randy Foye, and Antawn Jamison. But since the Cavs just played the night before, it was clear that fatigue was setting in as the Clippers would eventually run away with the lead and the win.
THE STAT: Ramon Sessions played off the bench, but was the 2nd leading scorer of the game with 30 points
QUOTABLE: Baron Davis on the last shot of regulation, "The play was originally designed for EJ, but the defense was tight on him..so I had to take the shot if we were going to have a chance. Good thing we worked as a team in overtime or else it would have been on me! Haha!"
HOT: Baron Davis was on fire in the first half scoring 13 points with a perfect 6 for 6 and still dishing off 8 assists
NOT: The Cavs starting small forward, Joey Graham, failed to score a single point...in fact he didn't even attempt a field goal or a free throw
PLAY OF THE GAME: With time winding down in the first half, Blake Griffin stole the ball and dribbled it up the court to make a buzzer beating 3Pointer from at least 30 feet that just made it as time expired
BLUNDER OF THE GAME: Kris Humphries fouled Antawn Jamison at the start of the 4Q at the 3Point line, meaning Jamison had 3 Free Throws, which he made all of them

Streak: 4WMadison Square Garden - New York, NY Nov. 12, 2011 - 7:30 PM (PST) Matchups Chancey Billups PG Baron Davis Kelenna Azubukie SG Eric Gordon Carmelo Anthony SF Andre Igoudala Amar'e Stoudemire PF Blake Griffin Ronny Turiaf C DeAndre Jordan RETRO NIGHT: CLIPPERS END STRONG
THE FACTS: A team that hasn't lost versus a team that hasn't won, the Clippers started off quick and was out in front early. Andre Iguodala got into foul trouble, but it Clippers were able to hold on with a strong play from the rest of their front court Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. The Knicks would go on a big run to take the lead, but steady scoring led by Eric Gordon helped tie the game just before halftime. But with a possession left, Mr. Big Shot, Chancey Billups, hit a 3 to put the Knicks up by 3 going into the locker rooms. The 3Q was very close until the end when Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony went on a scoring binge to take a commanding 14 point lead. But the Clippers never gave up as Blake Griffin willed his team to get the game close, and it got close enough for Eric Gordon to get hot and hit 5 3PTers in a row late in the game to retake the lead. With the Clippers up 4, Eric Gordon hit his final 3PTer with 30 seconds left and basically set the game.
THE STAT: Eric Gordon had another hot night beyond the arc with 10 3PTers, 5 of them coming during the Clippers 4Q rally
QUOTABLE: Vinny Del Negro, "Their game plan is to score...so we just had to score more."
HOT: DeAndre Jordan had a perfect night with 24 points on 10 for 10 shooting and 4 for 4 from the Free Throw line
NOT: Andre Iguodala struggled on the big stage tonight by getting into foul trouble and getting off only 4 shot attempts
PLAY OF THE GAME: With the Knicks putting all their focus on Blake Griffin, Baron Davis decided to throw a lob anyways that Blake was still able to grab over the defense and slam down
BLUNDER OF THE GAME: The Clippers took a 2 point lead with 2 minutes left in the game, Carmelo Anthony was fouled on a potentially game tying dunk. So when he went to the free throw line to tie the game....he messed both attempts

THE FACTS: Right away a battle between Eric Gordon and Ben Gordon erupted with high powered scoring from the two opposing shooting guards. The game was close in the first half with the lead going back and forth. Blake Griffin did his best to help Gordon, but the Bulls defense was too focused on him. To start the 3Q the Bulls went on a 12-2 run that would put them up ahead as high as 16 points. The Clippers looked like they were running out of energy going into the 4Q. That was until Blake Griffin went into beast mode in the 4Q playing hard on both the offensive end and the defensive end. With Eric Gordon still scoring at a high pace, Blake Griffin was able to tie the game at 110 with less than a minute remaining on a fast break pull up jumpshot...everyone thought he was going for the dunk. Then with little time left, Ben Gordon hit a shot to put the Bulls ahead by 2 with 20 seconds left. With Blake Griffin inbounding the ball, the defense was glued to the Clippers perimeter players. The ball was inbound, but surprisingly it was kicked back out to Blake Griffin who hit his only 3PTer of the game to give the Clippers a 1 point lead. With 15 seconds left the Bulls had possession, but the Clippers, who had a foul to give, fouled Derrick Rose forcing them to reset their offense with only 5 seconds left. The inbound found its way to Ben Gordon who immediately charged to the basket where Blake Griffin contested the shot enough for Ben Gordon's layup attempt to roll out of the rim! And with that the buzzer sounded and the Clippers pulled off another 4Q rally for the win.
THE STAT: The Clippers dominated the boards grabbing 45 while the Bulls only had 29
QUOTABLE: Bulls GM George Koukoulis was heard in the arena yelling, "A Jordan-esque dunk by Koukoulis on Jordan!!" after this play...
HOT: Gordon vs. Gordon...both Eric Gordon and Ben Gordon put on a scoring show scoring at will against each other going for 30 and 27, respectively
NOT: Rookie Marko Jenjic could not make a basket going 0 for 6 from the field and making only 1 of 2 from the free throw line
PLAY OF THE GAME: Eric Bledsoe was being guarded by both Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson...first Gibson got his ankles broken then Bledsoe took Rose to the hole were he got fouled and still scored the basket
BLUNDER OF THE GAME: Rookie George Koukoulis was over hyped for a wide open dunk and ended up throwing it too hard that the ball bounced out

NLSC WATCH
Tonight the Clippers faced off against TWO rookies that are connected to a select few that are known only as the "NLSCers" and here is how they did...
- G - George Koukoulis
- 8 Min. | 10 PTS | 1 REB | 0 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO| 4-8 FG | 0-3 PT | 2-2 FT
- F - Marko Jenjic
- 11 Min. | 1 PTS | 1 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO| 0-6 FG | 0-2 PT | 1-2 FT
With the shallow depth at SF for the Bulls, it was not a problem for Marko Jenjic to get off the bench, getting in as soon as the 1Q. But his performance was anything but entertaining. Being defended by either Andre Iguodala or the long arms of Al-Farouq Aminu, Jenjic could not make a single shot from the field. George Koukoulis on the other hand did not check in until the 2Q and because of the kind of night Ben Gordon was having, it was unlikely he would get much playing time. But Koukoulis made the most of his limited minutes scoring 10 points in only 8 minutes of play. It seemed as if he had some extra energy in him as he drove to the basket strong almost each time and threw down some hard dunks against the Clippers. Neither NLSC was particularly sharp from beyond the arc however. George Koukoulis had one of his attempts blocked by Eric Gordon and after getting the ball back in deeper position and with the shot clock winding down his next attempt was an airball. Koukoulis also had some jitters on a wide open dunk that he blew. There was a few minutes late in the game when bother players were in the game together, with Koukoulis playing the point and Jenjic the two guard, but it was short lived as Derrick Rose and Ben Gordon needed to return as the Clippers were making a run.Pressbook
CLIPPERS TAKE PART IN 3-TEAM TRADE
Press Conference: The Clippers held a press conference today with owner Donald T. Sterling and GM KidJustin present. Together they announced that they have brought back veteran Marcus Camby as well as acquired two lottery rookies in Trey Thompkins and Travis Leslie. The trade also involved both the Portland Trail Blazers and the Denver Nuggets. The two went on to thank the services of Nick Young, Chuck Hayes, Willie Warren, and JaJuan Johnson on behalf of the organization. While an inter-conference of this magnitude is usually unlikely, what was more unlikely was that this trade put the Clippers over the salary cap, something that has yet to happen under the ownership of Donald T. Sterling.
When asked about the change of heart, Mr. Sterling awkwardly replied, "This boy has shown me the light! I am complete gay for everything he tells me! I love this team to death! That is why I am okay with spending some of my hooker money on the team for a change! Go Spurs...I mean go Clippers!" all the while pinching KidJustin's cheeks and smiling with a big grin.
Trade Analysis: Rumor has had it that Nick Young was upset with the organization for offering him nothing more than the 1 year qualify offer and feels that his services are worth more than that. While he loves playing it his hometown, he needs to move on and think about his career and financial security.
Since the Denver Nuggets lack a starting shooting guard, Young is expected to start right away, something he was not able to do with the Wizards or the Clippers. Also Young's scoring will help alleviate pressure off Ty Lawson who was playing the scoring guard before Raymond Felton got injured. The Nuggets, who have a lot of cap space will more than likely offer him a big pay check by season's end, if not sooner. Elliot Williams has also started to show that he can be a capable scorer and will continue doing that backing up Young.
The Nuggets were also able to rid the glut of power forwards from their line up first by moving the unhappy Jason Maxiell to play backup in Portland for LaMarcus Aldridge. By also replacing rookie Trey Thompkins with fellow rookie JaJuan Johnson, the Nuggets will start Justin Jones and have Johnson serve as an explosive backup off the bench. Johnson never suited up for the Clippers except for preseason, where he did show signs of his potential, but it was clear he needed some more work done. The TrailBlazers have been playing an uneasy front court rotation of Aldridge, Greg Oden, and Marcus Camby. Along with their recent signing of Josh McRoberts, the TrailBlazers front court is stronger with the addition of Maxiell as well as Chuck Hayes.
Since they declined the option on Andre Miller, the TrailBlazers have been lacking at the point guard position. Willie Warren will be inline to play for the starting spot on this time. Warren has yet to suit up for the Clippers this season, but last year proved to be a legit backcourt player and deadly 3PT shooting in his limited playing time with the Clippers and the D-League last season
Chuck Hayes has struggled to find his niche on the team and some of it could be due to his style of play. Hayes is a low to the ground player, lacking athleticism, as well as physical length and height. With Marcus Camby coming back, the organization knows exactly the player they are getting. With his high basketball IQ as well as defensive prowess, he will fit perfectly with the team. In the locker room, the guys are all excited to have Camby back, especially DeAndre Jordan who he still considers Camby a mentor. Rookies Trey Thompkins and Tarvis Leslie were actually on the same Georgia Bulldogs team in college and ended up being drafted together with two of the Nuggets lottery picks. And now they were traded together and are still teammates, but now in Los Angeles as Clippers. Leslie will need to develop his shot, but his athleticism is perfectly identical to the makeup of this team with the likes of Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Eric Bledsoe. Leslie has big shoes to fill as Nick Young's replacement. Trey Thompkins on the other hand is a big body that can shoot, something the Clippers have yet to have on their team. Thompkins, who was starting for the Nuggets, will have to fight for playing time as he will be behind both Blake Griffin and Kris Humphries.
