Bulls - Magic notebook
THE FACTS:There was a huge game on the series opening in Chicago. With an amazing performance, which was capped with a buzzer beater at the end of the Extra period, the Bulls took the 1-0 lead in the series. Derrick Rose scored 43 points, and added 12 assists ,5 steals and 4 rebounds on one of the greatest performances in this year's playoffs. Luol Deng played a great part in the game as well, with his 20 points and 7 rebounds. Tracy McGrady added 12 points as well.
For the Orlando Magic,Mickael Pietrus tried hard,as he had 22 points on one of his best appearances in the postseason. Gilbert Arenas had 20 points and 7 assists, while Vince Carter added 19 points and 4 rebounds including the game tying basket at the last seconds of the Overtime, which eventually wasn't enough.
QUOTABLE:"It's an amazing feeling beating the buzzer at a game like this and giving your team the win. We proved that we're too hard to be beaten, especially in our homecourt!"
--Derrick Rose
THE MOMENT: With 1.8 seconds on the clock at the OT, Bulls call a time out. Joakim Noah gets to the inbound, trying to found an open teammate. Derrick Rose makes a really swift switch of direction going to the left corner, takes the ball from Noah and shots a really quick release shot, which seems to be coming short. But the ball takes the lucky bounce and goes into the basket, while United Center went crazy!
GOOD MOVE:Stan Van Gundy focused his offense on the shooting guard spot and Vince Carter and Mickael Pietrus. Both were a huge trouble for McGrady and Iverson.
HOT:Derrick Rose with his 43 points and a 19-30 shooting was just amazing. Great game from the Chicago native.
NOT:Dwight Howard had only 10 points and 10 rebounds on Game 1. Joakim Noah managed to turn off Howard on offense, and Bulls did a good job limiting his rebounding as well.FINAL SCORE: Chicago Bulls - Orlando Magic 107-104

Bulls - Magic notebook
THE FACTS:Despite another huge performance by Derrick Rose ,the Bulls couldn't repeat the story and manage to handle another run by the Magic on the end. This time, Derrick Rose missed the buzzer beater with 1.1 seconds remaining ,that could give Bulls the win and the 2-0 lead in the series. Rose had 39 points,6 steals and 5 assists, but came up shorts on the last attempt, despite giving Bulls the lead with only 7.8 seconds remaining with a dunk over Dwight Howard. Rose had little to no help from the rest of the Bulls though. Kyle Korver with 11 points was the second scorer, while McGrady had 9 points and Noah had 9 points with 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
For the Magic, Vince Carter was the high scorer and also was the one who gave Magic the win.He had 24 points ,4 assists and 3 steals. Gilbert Arenas was the leader for the Magic though. 20 points ,10 assists and 4 steals for the player out of Arizona. Mickael Pietrus had 14 points and Dwight Howard 10 points and 15 rebounds.
QUOTABLE:"I'm disappointed about how this game ended. We had this on our hands and we let it slip away. It's my fault as well. I know I could have taken a better shot. Now we're going for at least 1 win in Orlando in order to hold again our own luck in our hands."
--Derrick Rose
THE STAT: Less turnovers and more assists for the Magic. Those were the keys for Van Gundy's team in order to not let the game slip and stay in it until the end and eventually win it.
TURNING POINT:With less than two minutes remaining in the game , Orlando went on a quick 6-0 run to make the game a thriller and cut the lead down to 1 point. Then the two teams were trading leads in the last minute until going to the last 10 seconds and after a quick dunk by Rose,Vince Carter scored a three pointer that made the final score of the game, 92-90FINAL SCORE:Chicago Bulls - Orlando Magic 90-92
