FREE AGENCY Days 1-10
The DALLAS MAVERICKS makes the first move in free agency by signing veteran Vince Carter to a 1 year $5.33M contract.
When the LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS acquired Andre Iguodala, it meant that Restricted Free Agent Wilson Chandler was available for the WASHINGTON WIZARDS, who would also land one of the biggest free agents on the market, Zach Randolph. With DeAndre Jordan still on the market the LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS signed two big men in Kris Humphries and Chuck Hayes. But so far they have had no luck signing a backup swingman as two of their rumored targets, J.R. Smith and Allen Iverson have decided to sign with other teams. Smith decided to take a starting gig with the NEW JERSEY NETS, who have also given Glen Davis the starting role he wanted. With Iverson choosing the LOS ANGELES LAKERS and backing up Kobe Bryant, free agent Shannon Brown will be starting next to Chris Paul and the NEW ORLEANS HORNETS.

FREE AGENCY Days 11-20
Free agency has been a frenzy recently with the NEW YORK KNICKS adding Kelenna Azubuike after signing a 4 year $27.54M contract. Azubuike is giving New York another chance after not being able to play there long from the Melo trade last season, and another former Knick giving the team another chance is Tracy McGrady signing a 3 year deal with a team option.
The NEW JERSEY NETS continue their signing frenzy by adding Rodney Stuckey to their backcourt that already features Deron Williams and J.R. Smith. Andrei Kirilenko will now enjoy a 6th man role off the bench after agreeing to play behind Trevor Ariza on the NEW ORLEANS HORNETS
Signings Days 11-20:
8/3 - NEW YORK KNICKS sign Kelenna Azubuike - 4Yrs/$27.54M
8/5 - NEW JERSEY NETS sign Rodney Stuckey - 5Yrs/$45.64M

8/12 - LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS sign Peja Stojakovic - 1Yr/$480K
FREE AGENCY Days 21-23
The free agency period is nearly over with teams making last minute signings such as the GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS signing Arron Afflalo to a 4 year $23.71M contract. The DENVER NUGGETS were also able to pray away Thaddeus Young.
The LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS finally came to an agreement with their starting center DeAndre Jordan and then rounded out the roster with veteran Ricky Davis, who played overseas last season after being with the Clippers for half of a season before that. Nick Young is also back with the team, but only with the qualifying offer. Sources say owner Donald T. Sterling forced GM KidJustin to stay under the cap, which made it impossible for GM KidJustin to offer Young anything more. Hopefully next season they will have a chance to keep Young, who will then be an unrestricted free agent.
There are still many free agents that have not been signed, mainly due to teams not as willing to spend from the down economy. But many believe most of the big names, such as Tayshuan Prince, Reggie Williams, Mike Bibby, Michael Redd, Matt Barnes, Mickael Pietrus, and Brandon Wright will surely find a team soon enough.
Signings Days 21-23:
