March 15, United Center
Oklahoma City Thunder (29-11) @ Chicago Bulls (34-9)
Thunder - Bulls notebook
THE FACTS: Derrick Rose had a huge game. He scored 42 points and added an impressive 12 assists, 6 rebounds and 5 steals! The one man show though was not alone. Carlos Boozer had 12 points, Luol Deng 9 and several players added 8 points, on a match every player in the Chicago Bulls squad scored.
From the Oklahoma City Thunder, Nate Robinson scored 30 points taking advantage of a bad Russell Westbrook but he had to take many shots(was 4-10 from deep) in order to score those points. Kendrick Perkins had 14 points, while Ronnie Brewer and surprisingly Kevin Durant, who was double teamed and closed well all game long, as well added 12 points.
THE STAT: All Chicago Bulls players scored in this one, as the bench was really providing spark keeping the Bulls on the edge.
THE MOMENT:Another White Mamba moment. Brian Scalabrine stole the ball and rushed on the open field for an emphatic two handed slam, and the crowd went nuts!! Not only because of Scal but because the Bulls had passed 100 points with this one, meaning free burger for everyone!!
HOT: Derrick Rose was on fire on this match. He was 18-26 from the field including 3-4 from the 3PT territory. Rose was the man to stop on the match, but no one seemed to be able to handle him.
NOT:Kevin Durant had only 12 points following his 40 points against the Bulls and the 50 points against the Knicks. Chicago played great defense of him making him unable to be a threat.
QUOTABLE:"I'm really happy about how we played today. This was the best defensive game we played the last months and if we didn't want those free burgers and rushed to pass the 100 point mark we would have limited the Thunder to way less points than those they scored."
--Bulls' Coach Tom Thibodeau
QUOTABLE II:"That was just chocking defense on me. I just couldn't bust a move and find the open shot I wanted. Great job from the Bulls on this I have to admit."
--Thunder's Forward Kevin DurantFINAL SCORE: Chicago Bulls - Oklahoma City Thunder 108-96
