May 26, 2011

New York, NY -- It may have come to the last day of the deadline but Chauncey Billups will remain as a Knick after all.
The New York Knicks management have finally agreed to pick up Billups' team option that will pay him $14.2 million
next season. The good news came when Chauncey agreed to speak with reporters after a workout at the Knicks'
practice facility at Greenburg, New York.
"They called me early in the morning and said that my option was picked up," said Billups. "After receiving the news I
immediately scheduled a session with our shooting coach, just wanted to get some shots up. I'm glad that I'll be
staying here and play with Melo and Amar'e."
Billups will be turning 35 in September and will be on his 15th season next year. His scoring number was down to 12.8
points per game last season but his assists went up to 8.2 a night.
The Knicks roster now stands at 9.
