NCAA March Madness Basketball 2015?

Postby GoLowDrew on Wed Nov 19, 2014 7:47 am

Any news or rumors on that? I actually left NBA Live a long time ago (2004?), and went to the NCAA title. It's the same game, I know, but just like the college teams. That carried me for a (long while) until the last one 2010, where NCAA Basketball ended (SInce Live and NCAA are connected).

So Live is back for 2015. Any rumors on NCAA March Madness Basketball 2015? The easy answer is yes (because it's the same game.) I'm sure it's more than that meaning it involves big $$$, licenses, rights, logo, etc, etc.

But just wanted to know if you guys read anything "official."

If you haven't read anything, or have not seen any stories, please reply too.

I haven't heard anything about any college video game since the ncaa players sued EA.

Unfortunately the answer is no, due to what you mentioned there: money, licensing, likeness rights, and of course, a lawsuit. Neither EA nor 2K have the NCAA license anymore, so no college basketball games are in the pipeline right now.

What was the lawsuit about?

There is still NCAA Football for 2014. If that is the "last one," better get that. Currently on 2012.

Likeness rights, and EA/the NCAA profiting off college players, who don't see any of that money due to their amateur status.

Yes, those can be used with NBA 2K14 PC. That's what they're for. :)

It is the last one. Ed O'Bannon delivered knockout punch.

NCAA, IF YOU DON'T ALLOW ANY MORE COLLEGE SPORTS VIDEO GAMES, YOU WILL HAVE A LOT OF PROTESTERS PROTESTING AGAINST YOUR SETTLEMENT OF THE LAWSUIT! I DON'T CARE WHAT ED O'BANNON THINKS ABOUT THAT!

Can someone send me tickets to go to Indianapolis? I want to protest to the NCAA office against that settlement. I want a college sports video game for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Cory Machkovich: I would like to see you give EA back the license for NCAA sports.

Mark Emmert: Sorry, but I can't. It won't be the right move to make because of the lawsuit.

Cory Machkovich: It's your call, but we still want college sports video games for the PS4 and the Xbox One, so if you're not going to deal with EA, you will have to deal with a different company then!

Mark Emmert: Oh, I'd better get to work on licensing then!

This is how it is going to go if I go right at Mark Emmert's office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Like my script?
