i've had a suspicion some of the pg domination problem resided in the teams.dbf strategies not setup correctly; as some of the others.
i also had a suspicion there was a problem in how the plays were mapped out in plays.dbf
last night i made some changes to the plays.dbf:
for example:
there are columns for each position (i.e Center CX,CY, CR) and then P1,P2, P3
in the CR there is either a "3" or a "0" throughout the map. in P1,P2 and P3 there are the positions listed; i.e PG, SG,etc.
what i did was matched, frame by frame (if you look at the columns you'll see a series of frames per set or play); if a position was listed in either P1,P2 or P3 i put in a "3" in the "R" column of the position. if the position was not listed in P1,P2, and P3, i put a zero in the "R" column.
i have no screenshots at the moment (i'm busy with work), but the gameplay is remarkably improved. players pass, drive more intelligently, and i've never seen NBA Live play this well, personally. In fact, the design concept behind this is great. hats off to EA for that.
i would upload my dbfs for others to try if someone can tell me who would be willing to host them.
ps i made no changes to players.dbf; i did make changes in defplays.dbf and playmap.dbf. i used "Starter" with all sliders set at 50 except for dunk vs layup and Adjusted shot percentage; those were at 5. the combination of all of this produced better gameplay. note: the defensive plays are not setup correctly from what i see in defplays, playmap and team.dbf. those i had to fix with the current play numbers that are in plays.dbf. i think some of these settings were left over from previous versions of NBA Live.
