I need help here....Ive been simming a 90-91 mod season to see if my editing of players/teams..etc...is being accurate to the time of the season....the teams with the highest ratings are having below par/average seasons & easily getting knocked out the playoffs & Utah Jazz who are rated 78...(which will be higher anyway once I edit them)...are consistently winning the NBA championship, Ive messed with certain things in the dbf..like scoring position, defence..etc...but its still happening...anyone have any ideas here?

The sim engine will produce unusual results from time to time. I guess one thing you could look at would be CHEMTYPE as it could be a matter of player chemistry affecting simulation and working against the higher rated teams. You might also want to try disabling player injuries while running your test simulations as they result in Primacy ratings being recalculated and overall ratings not being recalculated, which affects the simulation process.

I gave the chemtype a try...I just set everyones at 0, hasnt really changed anything...the simming still makes Utah the top team at the end of regular season though I had a Bulls - Lakers Final on 1 test (Bulls 4-3) I'll just keep trying different things till I get the regular seasons accurate as possible, thanks for the help

from my experience..usually the highest rated teams make the playoffs that's strange.

Andrew, what value must I give the CHEMTYPE field in order to achieve realistic sim results???

No idea, to be honest I don't touch it. Sorry.
