Old and young assistants

Why is it that its mainly the young assistants that are free spirits? Sometimes when i try to hire an assistant who's under the age of 50, especially when i have to fight with another team for the same assistant, he goes to the other team. Shouldn't young assistants want more years at least most of the time? And should assistants who are 50 years and older be the ones who want 1 year? The 50 and over assistants should be thinking about retirement and the the younger assistants should want 2 or more years. BUt most of the assistants under the age of 50 most of the time, just want 1 year, they want to be free spirits, i don't get this.

Coaches aren't like players. Although the years have seen their fair share of younger coaches, it's not uncommon for coaches (assistants or otherwise) to be in their 50s or 60s. As for why they don't want long term deals in NBA Live, the most convenient answer would be that video games aren't perfect and strange things happen, but as far as an answer that parallels real life I'd suggest that the younger coaches are keen for experience but would like to try new opportunities in the hopes that they can work their way up to a head coaching job (although this of course is not possible in NBA Live as yet) whereas the older assistants are more content with their role and/or do not want the stress of a head coaching role.

If I really want to get a specific asst coach, I try to match their ideal terms, I usually increase my salary offer because I've noticed that changing the years usually makes the coach reject the contract and eventually go to another team.
