What ads are you talking about? Lots of stuff you can download from "NBA Live 08 Patch Releases & Previews" forum section. They work fine in Live 07.

The updates you want to look for specifically are usually called dorna updates.

That depends. If they are already .fsh files - just put them to your sgsm folder. But if they only are graphic files (in .png, .bmp, or even .dds file) you have to import them by yourself - using FshX for example.
