2008 Draftees Ratings

Postby Andrew on Tue Aug 05, 2008 11:07 pm

Just to update everyone, I am still working on the roster updates for NBA Live 08, 07 and 06. I still cannot set dates for their release but I am working hard to get them out as soon as possible. The post Draft update is one of the most tedious and time consuming but I'm certainly making progress and will do my best not to keep everyone waiting too much longer.

In the meantime, I've finished creating this year's sixty draftees and have completed a first pass through their ratings. I've decided to post a spreadsheet with their ratings so that I can get your feedback and any corrections for players who should be left handed (I've already noticed a couple) before the rosters actually come out. If any other roster patchers would like to use any of these ratings as a base, please feel free to do so.

Rookie Ratings

Please note that I'm looking for honest, constructive and intelligent feedback here on all ratings, not just the overalls. I can also do without the childish "lol omg these ratings suck" nonsense; if you see something that doesn't look right, by all means point it out and suggest new ratings but please do it without the attitude. Thanks.

Love needs to have a lower dunk rating

Thanks for your feedback. The reason I've given players like Rose a lower dunk rating is that a lot of times those smaller players don't dunk quite as often when they get to the NBA but I'll certainly take another look at those players. Thanks again. :)

whats up andrew

the ratings are pretty much cool, maybe i would give gallinari a higher dunk rating - seen his mixtape after knicks selected him and boy was dunkin on some people like a beast..

besides that, just wanna say huge huge thanx, been playin nba live since 94 when it first came out and EA are pretty much killin it lately (no 09, that sim problem with 08) so 07 is the only one im playin and your amazing patches are the main reason for it. so once more huge thanx man, cant wait for the release
thanx :D :D :D (Y)

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the last paragraph in my original post, where I addressed some of the less constructive feedback I sometimes receive.

I guess I need to work on my sarcasm :P

Brook Lopez and Marreese Speights should have higher FG ratings, and I think you can also lower Eric Gordon's FG a little(or keep it the same) and instead raise his 3PT up to 70(+)

But that's just my opinion. You really don't need to make any changes at all because you've taken a lot of time considering many factors doing this while someone like me will just do a quick scan and decide if it's good or not

Yes, which is one of the reasons why the offseason updates are taking so long. Updating three seperate games is very time consuming and often tedious work, but once I've finished the 08 update it'll make things easier since I have ratings and whatnot to work from.

Faces will, but I believe headshapes need to be converted. Rosters won't.

It's not a patch. It's a listing of the ratings that you can provide feedback on, you'll need Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet program to open the .xls file.

The only other way to use it would be to create the rookies yourself and use it as a guide for their ratings. However, that's what the roster update will do for you when it's released.
