couple of problems while trying to create rookies

Postby Ricardo on Sat Jul 12, 2008 2:10 pm

Hey there. I have two questions:

1) I had already created beasley and rose on my roster even before the draft, using the lame face generator from the game. Noe, a couple of days ago I downloaded their cyberfaces but I'm not sure how to make my created players have these faces. I have already managed to get their portraits into the game (by setting ISCREATED to false and so on) but had no luck with the cf.

2) I had the "brilliant" idea of making some other rookies over some never used free agents. It worked ok for mario chalmers which I used a jon doe whose last name was also chalmers. At first his body turned white but I was able to overcome that by editing the appearance database. Now, when I tried to create joe alexander over a greek player(printezis - because they are both 6'8" SF) his cf disappeared. Once again, his portrait is ok, but once game play starts he has a silver cf.

anyway, I'd be really glad if anyone could give me any tips on these

thanks andrew.

the tutorial made me realize what the problem was with joe alexander (when I renamed his PLAYERPKG to get the portrait I also should have renamed the fsh file.

I didn't help me though with the rookies. All the things from the tutorial were already set up like that. is there anything else I can do?

thanks in advance

Hello ricardo

To see the new rookies in you game
1- create them in your roster (save roster)
2- Download CF & portrait (example of files needed for Joe Alexander : joalexa.dbf, joalexaB.ebo, plyrprts~JOALEXA.big) add them to your sgsm folder
3-Modify the dbf files (players.dbf and appearance.dbf : players.dbf, change playerpkg to JOALEXA, appearance.dbf, change face ID to -1and playerID to JOALEXA)
4- upload the saved roster
5- enjoy

I think it´s 4th from the left, it was called ID7 in 05´, I don´t know about 07´ tho, probably something similar

It's called APPEARID in appearance.dbf, but it corresponds to the same value under PLAYERID in players.dbf.

hello all, thanks for the help... I've been trying to learn some new things ehich have brought me new questions... hopefully you won't grow tired of answering them :)

I tried re-doing 4 rookies (rose, beasley, mayo and love) while only having CFs for the rose and beasley. All of Sudden their CFs work. So, I come here to try to find CFs for both mayo and love but when I put them on the folder, nothing happens.

My question, then, is: Do I need to have the CFs in the SGSM folder before creating the rookie?

I ask this because the problem I'm having is creating a rookie and only after that trying to make its CF work.

No, it doesn't matter the order in which you do things as long as the art files are present in the sgsm folder and the roster you have loaded has all the appropriate changes made to the database.
