Jersey Patching?

I recently came across some university of oregon jerseys off of the ncaa mod site that doesn't seem to get much traffic anymore (at least so it seems by looking at the forum). I noticed that some of the authors of the mods over there are on this site regularly.

Anyway, I was wondering if I can patch those jerseys onto an already existing team, i.e the sonics, twolves, whatever. I've taken a look at the tutorial guides for jersey patching and the best I can tell is that I'd be coming in halfway through the process since they are already in bitmap form. As I have never patched anything before I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to help me out.

I noticed they were made for 06 also. Does that create issues for patching with 07?

You can use 2006 uniforms for NBA Live07 but you have to convert them. There are two major differences. 1) 2007 uses an alpha channel, which is used for lighting effects. 2) 2007 normally uses a 256x256 texture. You can create 512x512 textures but you will have to make new numbers but for 2007 that is a lot of extra work (100 files instead of 2006's 10)

Here's what to do.
Using FshX open the 2006 fsh file. Export the uniform as test06.dds. Take the 2007 uniform (I'll use bosthome.fsh as an example) and open it with FshX. Export as bosthome.dds. Open bosthome.dds with your paint program. Open test06.dds with your paint program. Re-size to 256x256. Copy this layer. Paste the 06 layer to bosthome.dds. Save bosthome.dds. Using FshX import bosthome.dds to bosthome.fsh and save. Fshx should now show the new uniform and it should have a bluish tinge which is the alpha channel. Place the bosthome.fsh file in the SGSM folder. You can also make a new preview if you want.

I hope the directions are correct, I haven't made any 2007 uniforms since January.
