The Need-Need-To-Knows for DBF

Postby TSquared on Fri Apr 06, 2007 8:20 am

Guys...just wanna ask about this problem of mine..Here's the situation:

--> What do i do if i want just a single player from rosterA to rosterB
--> I tried opening players.dbf but i can't seem to make it work
--> I want a record to be added from rosterB to rosterA

Make it a step by step process please.. So it'd be easy to understand..
Thanks!!

I suggest using DB Commander for this since you can open two dbf files, one in each pane.

1. Make a backup of all the files you are working with.

2. Open the players.dbf file you wish to edit in the left pane.

3. Open the players.dbf file you wish to copy from in the right pane.

4. Locate the player whose info you wish to copy in the right pane.

5. Scroll to the bottom of the database in the left pane and press the Down arrow key.

6. Begin copying the information from the right window. Note that one value you may have to change is PLAYERID if the player you are copying has the same ID as a player in the destination database.

7. To successfully copy a player, you will need to repeat the same process with appearance.dbf.

8. Exit DB Commander. Next time you load the file from within the game, the new player should be added.
