help!!! with ps2 to usb controller convertor

Hey

So I am kind of new to the whole patching thing and I don’t know if this is possible I have a USB Ps2 controller converter thing for my pc the one you can get from play.com and I just cant seem to use it proper meaning getting the buttons right and stuff I know I can change the buttons myself I have tried but it kinda hard since im stupid could someone help me to get the controller to work like it would on the ps2
