Any comments ?

I actually like it now that I am used to it. The major disadvantage of it to me was moving the pro hop button to the analog. I can never get it to work when I want it to now.

I like it as there's a risk/reward factor in choosing whether to attempt a dunk or layup and leaving it up to the CPU (as in years past) didn't always leave your players making the best decision.

I totally agree with you Andrew !
I like it this way.
This is a very good idea.
Like in real life, we can now choose the right move, a lay up or a dunk.

Yeah I agree, but sometimes it looks that there are more % that you will make a dunk, not a lay-up, that's what I don't like...

That's the entire point. It's a risk/reward system. It's similar to real life in that respect.
Splitting up the dunk and layup buttons was one of the better ideas EA's had recently. I love having the control.

I think also like you guys, but the biggest reason why dont is, it KILLED the pro hop button!

Hmmm, its a good idea, you can decide what type of shot you can use.
and dunk is very much different from a lay-up
but i still adjusting for this new feature

It makes the controls a little tedious at first, but I got used to it. I still occasionally press the dunk button when I'm using a 6 foot point guard with like a 3 dunk rating on a fast break though.

I like it alot. Especially when you try to dunk with a player who can't and...whoopsee!!
I would like them to get rid of the turbo button and take full advantage of the analog controllers. That way they can use it for another function. hey what about the left analog button? They could utilize that, too.

Agreed, that is a downside to the feature. I'd prefer it to be similar to the 360 version which allows you to perform a dunk by tapping the button or a pro hop if you hold it down, if not mapped to another button completely.

That would be great, but I'd rather choose between a dunk or a lay up than make an easy pro hop, IMO.

It's a cool new feature IMO!
But they could replace the dunk button for guys who can't dunk with another layup button instead of atempting a dunk an doing a misserable layup out of it that never hits the basket...

My thoughts exactly, too often I'm on a fastbreak, thinking 'oh..great chance to dunk', and remember at the last minute the guy can't dunk and find it becomes a turnover, because I stuff it up. Risk/Reward like the others have said.

well... it's really realistic the way they have made it, because every guy can attempt a dunk, and most player in the NBA can dunk in the open court, but it doesn't always work in real life and therefore it shouldn't always work in the game. The game should adjust for people who can't remember that Jason Kidd actually or Brevin Knight actually can't dunk...

I'd rather have to tap for a layup and hold down for a dunk, and keep the pro-hop button as it was before.
Mon Nov 27, 2006 10:14 am
I agree with tap for a layup and hold for a dunk. On the 360 version Dunk is X and you have to hold Y for a layup, which I don't like.
Wed Nov 29, 2006 12:27 am
It sounds like a good idea, but I want to have the choice anyway !
That "risk/reward" action is the best feature of this NBA Live.
