What's up with this?

I was playing 1 on 1 with Spud and Nate when Spud had a pretty strange dunk attempt:

Is it just me or these break-away rims bend down a lot (especially when a 130 lbs guy hangs on it)?

BTW- I happend two more times to me

Just an animation glitch, not unlike players hanging onto the net (or thin air) in years gone by.
