Fix PG primacy and collision factors

As long as Ea seems to read this board: it just seems that on Live the opposing PG and anyone else with a head of steam just bowls you over and goes for the hoop even with defensive assist and on-ball assist at maximum. It doesn't matter if you double team or whatever. I'm telling you I've been a loyal Live fan for years but this one is a piece; 2K7 is just a much better game, too bad it is produced for PC. I think EA is getting stretched too far with too many platforms--Tiger for the PC is a bug riddled piece which is totally unplayable for anyone with an ATI card. I'm losing the will.

The NBA 2007 of this year has left with some defect makes that another one but is not nothing that cannot be solved with a good patch.

That's true, and NLSC seems to be one source they listen to. Another thing they could do is create a profile so you could save your camera view, and strategy settings/plays so you didn't have to set them every time. EA is a good company with some nice games, but so far this isn't one of them IMHO.

You say it. I have TW PGA Tour 07, and it crashes back to the desktop randomly, and thus is unplayable and unpleasant respectively. The same issue with the gameplay in Live 07. I am truly disappointed... instead of Electronic Arts, their name should be Electronic Bugs... EB Sports.

seriously am i the only one who doesnt get lit up by PG's? a lotta ppl have this problem but really i have played 12min quarter games and no opposing PG has dropped more than 22pts on me...maybe ppl are just sticking so close to the CPU PG and getting burnt when the "riding" animation takes over(NO LANCE)...play better

For those complaining about PG domination, use Jimmy's fix in the announcements section. Follow Directions!!!!

1)place the teams.dbf and playmap.dbf in your MyDocuments\NBA Live 07\database\originaldb and workingdb and currentdb folders. Also place these files in any saves folders you might have(actual roster downloads or saves).

2)put settings.dat in your MyDocuments\NBA Live 07\settings folder. Feel free to edit the settings to your liking then, but make sure you start with what Jimmy has.

3)put aiact file in c:\program files\easports\nbalive07\ai\act folder.

If your wise enough, make backups of all the files you are about to replace. I have been using Jimmy's fix for awhile now and it works just great.

If it works for some, good for them, but I tried this fix and I still get the same problems.

I am just trying to help as many as possible. Also, I think these directions can be somewhat difficult to follow if you don't know much about unzipping files, copying, pasting, the specific Live directories, etc. If I help only a couple people it will be worth it.

lol el but seriously theres this PG myth in Live that i havent witnessed in the Live series since 2005 to date..and im still waiting on playmakers to update his team specific plays so the stars on each team will do as they are supposed to....my suggestion for people experiencing the PG dominance is to back off the PG,dont stick so close to them thats all it takes really

There's one thing I don't get: you said that Jimmy's settings can be changed to one's liking, but modifying the sliders for example would probably affect the efficiency of this patch, don't you think?

I tried backing off the PG, double and triple teaming the PG.

Allen Iverson had 39 points in the first quarter. It was something to see him barreling through three players (C, PF and PG,), knocking down both the C and PG and then shooting a leaning jumper, also knocking down the PF, no foul.

On another play I had the PG in front of him, suddenly the PG warped to behind AI who ran in for the easy score, over the C and PF.

Philly's backup guard also had no trouble driving the lane. None of their PGs had any trouble flinging up shots from tight double team coverage, for 65% shooting.

The bottom line is the dev and testing teams have done shameful work with this game.

I think I'm good at defence but still... I can't imagine how a point guard could score 40 on me in a single quarter. I agree that point guards look to score more than they should but...damn. Could it be that some experience this bug while others don't for some unknown reasons?

It was in a game where I decided to focus on stopping the PG. No matter what I did, he'd score. If I stopped his dribble, he'd fling up threes from way beyond the arc and hit them, even with CPU outside shooting turned down to 30. He drove over people, had fast break baskets on nearly every one of my missed shots, even if I tried stopping him with different people.

Forget about leaving CPU on point guard for those of you who play locked. If your PG is CPU, the opposing PG will score nearly every time down the floor.

My goal with any game is to give me the most realistic results- score wise, shooting percentage etc. Now I'm not a great player and I only play on Starter Level right now, but I have adjusted the sliders to my skill level which includes my on ball defense at 100%. Work the sliders to your liking and pick up the PG around the 3 point line and I don't have too many problems. Playing a season with the Bucks (12 min qtrs)--- Arenas had 34 in a game. That is realistic as he averaged 29 last year. TJ Ford now with Toronto had 14 points, Billups 21. It is a difficult game at the higher levels. I'm not smart enough to do all that reddcharliev explained so I will live with what I got for now. I did get the patch to work so that is a bonus.
