How can I get my money back?

Postby caml17 on Sun Oct 01, 2006 3:19 pm

(This is to be taken seriously, not sarastically)

Well I'm not going to rant about how horrible the game is, I'm sure nobody wants to hear about it if they haven't already. But honestly the bugs make the game virtually unplayable, in my opinion, and I think Ea have treated PC customers with no respect whatsoever.

Anyways, how can i get my money back, if I have already played the game? Can I somehow send it back to EA, and get them to send me money back (customer satisfaction)? Or can I just return it back to the walmart I bought it at, even if I have played it already. Also how can I contact EA to ask questions and let them know my complaints. Thanks. This question is not just for me, but hopefully will help the many customers that have bought the game, who also deserve their money back.
I have not been one to ever download a game illegally, because I respect what goes into making a quality game. but buying something like this makes it hard to resist.

return it to where you got it. if they won't take it, either trade it in or sell it to someone stupider than you.

dont send it back to EA, because you'd never get your money back, and you wouldnt have the game either. Maybe try to get in contact with them, ask them what you can do. if nothing else, it will show that you mean business.

also, try taking it back to walmart, see what they can do. they might just give you a credit though.

Its not that easy to just download the game though...it could be hard to find the right link for the torrent
If only it were as easy as messaging someone who knew it - and were giving out the link due to their utter contempt with EA...

Most places in Australia dont do refunds on computer games because of Piracy - so unless its different over there, your best bet would probly be ebay

Yeah, that person would find themselves banned fairly quickly though. Viva la revolution or not.

Sell it on eBay would be your only choice.

There's a three step process for getting a refund through EA's accounting department. Initially, when I downloaded LIVE 07 from the EA downloader, the file was either corrupt ot invalid. Needless to say, without being able to D/L the game, I opted to buy a hard copy of the DVD version.

I notified EA's customer support and they transfered me over to their accounting section. I explained the problem to them and verified my purchase with my receipt and CC number. After a bit of dialoque, they agreed to credit me back my money that was initially used for the digital download.

Now here's the bad part: It is entirely up to EA to whether or not refund or credit you back your money. If you simply say that the game 'sucks' or you just didn't like it, they will not honor that. Lucky for me, I really had technical issues with their digital distribution model that warranted a full and uncompromising refund. In fact, I would not have gotten off the phone until -MY- money was back in my bank account.

it's incredibly easy, and a safe option in my opinion: if a game sucks you didn't lose any money, and if it is really good... and you want to play online or something you can go buy it

try 1st buy later, that is what I have always done with EA's games

You can download it, then if it's good and want to play online or something, then buy it.

May I introduce myself? Moron DesDope, nice to meet you :)

I practiced the "try-then-buy" method for quite some time back in my more active gaming days. When I like the effort a gaming company put into some product I actually like to support them and reward them for a job well done. Otherwise I might have played the game for a while (although it obviously wasn't worth paying for) and then deleted and uninstalled it altogether again.

You may take a guess what will happen with this year's NBA Live edition ;)

If they make a patch to fix stuff in the game, will you needed a registered version of the game? Or will it work with a d/l version

This live 07 is taking the worst from everyone. People who signed in the forums a lot time ago and only made some few posts are coming back just to show how much they dislike the game.

desdope only made 5 posts in 2 years and half. :o
