Dynasty: has it improved?

I am still considering buying this game, but one issue remains a mistery to me as I play mostly in Dynasty mode. I am still longing for a mode that would work as flawlessly as the '00 version

So, I would like to ask you people who have played in dynasty how is it working this year?

Stats wise ( will kobe average 19 ppg for the rest of his carrer?),

contract wise ( no more good players remaining unsigned, I hope...)

mid level,

Do the ratings of declining players reflect declining stats, unlike the 05 version? ( no 39 year old Shaq averaging 20 and 10, please...),

how good is the trade AI, How good are the rookies, do the teams get good players unsigned to keep a 39 rated 2nd round rookie, and so on...

I would really appreciate if you could give me some insight on this matters... Thanks!

I can tell you one thing, i really like the new dynasty. The AI trade is excellent. They do a lot more trades than the previous years, but nothing crazy. Draft picks are much easier to trade now, and the "interest" bar for it actually works now as the season progress. Player chemistery is also another factor makes dynasty a better. Mid level is there, but you have to use all of it at once. You can't split it like in real life. I also see a lot of players demanding equal to or less than the minimum(1.07mil), which is great considering every FAs last year demanded huge salaries. There's more stuff.

Guess a good dynasty can't make for a crappy game. I haven't bought a Live since 05... Dreaming for a good game ever since the live 00. Oh boy

Mid level is there, but you have to use all of it at once. You can't split it like in real life. I also see a lot of players demanding equal to or less than the minimum(1.07mil), which is great considering every FAs last year demanded huge salaries.

Salary demands are still huge though; Jamison, being rated 75 after two years, wanting 12 million a year and the likes. You can't get a quality starter for the MLE; I have yet to get someone rated 70 or higher accept it.
Players still remain unsigned for a full year even though I offer them the MLE weeks into the season, with no team having cap room (and I am talking guys like Bonzi, Jamison, Ridnour...).

The Rookie generation also has been majorly overhauled this year and you can get Freestyle Superstars in the lottery. We had the Number 1 pick and got a guy who was an 87 OVR his first year with Excellent Potential.

Not saying it's perfect, but I honestly think Dynasty Mode is the best I've ever played.

The thing is, in real life they can potentially get it, if they can convince the teams to do a sign&trade, which is not in NBA Live. So the signing logic and the player demands have to be changed accordingly IMHO.

And once they see they cannot get the money they want, adjust the players so they are willing to sign short-term deals below market value (RL example: see Wells, Bonzi). You can't tell me Antawn Jamison would sit out a year now just because no team wants to pay him 12 million

AI is really not very good:
the free agent problems and the stupid trades are the wrost problems (detroit tradet sheed for big ben in december of my first season very funny). and lets not talk about in game AI and bugs here

but the worst mistake EA made in this years dynasty mode ist the stats simulation... i am able to igrore the other things but the fact that its impossilble to have an nba topscorer with more than 25 ppg is just killing any realism (Lebron never managed to do more than 20 in any season I already played)

Does anybody have any suggestions for PC games that have a decent dynasty mode (past or present)? NBA Live has always been weak in that department and after reading the comments here I don't know if I want to waste my time with 07. I've heard good things about the mode in NHL 2004 and there are mods for MVP 2005 that improve player progression.

Improvements have been made but the stats engine is no better than last year which was disappointing. Crazy as it sounds I kind of miss the days of Dstats.

New highlight for me - in my fantasy dynasty Golden State offered their first rounder for Jordan Farmar, who was basically my 12th man. I accepted the trade and then found out that they have the worst record in the league at the moment (7-19).
