Sat Sep 30, 2006 10:03 am

Holy moly... damn EA, this game is going down pretty fast... :|

Sat Sep 30, 2006 10:04 am

Haha, crazy bug, Im sure we can fix that though, maybe they just stuffed up when entering the players information in the rosters...

Sat Sep 30, 2006 10:18 am

oh yea this makes more sense now. There was a rumor in the game that Josh Boone will retire, which i thought was odd.

Sat Sep 30, 2006 10:19 am

He's got enough money, wouldn't surprise me.

Sat Sep 30, 2006 11:50 am

OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!

This is getting ridiculous. Did EA simply release the beta version without even trying to remove the bugs?

Sat Sep 30, 2006 7:53 pm

Oh man, maybe I should just save my money.... this is ridiculous, I have never seen this bad reactions immediately after the release.

While I agree that many bugs are annoying, this one is just one line in the roster file, so it is easily fixed...

Sat Sep 30, 2006 8:43 pm

57 years old and a rookie   thats good

Shouldn't be there in the first place.

This isn't some small high school programming game.... this is a massive company.. although churning out shit. But thats not here nor there.

I might just forget 07 and wait till next year. Hopefully EA pulls something half decent out their ass.

It ssucks because I wanted to play out Rudy Gays rookie year.... :(

That's the mentality that gives EA the power they have! If you haven't bought Live 07 already - don't, at least not until a patch is released, a patch that will fix all of the mistakes that shouldn't even be there in the first place. If they won't do that, then buy 2k7 or sign the petition to bring 2k8 to the PCs: http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic41939.php.

Maybe we should make a huge megamod to update NBA Live 2004 to this season and stick with it.

Sat Sep 30, 2006 10:33 pm

I have a strong feeling this game is done.

While I agree in principle, let's keep things in perspective please. I am as annoyed as the next guy about the major bugs, but something as insignificant as this is bound to happen with software - anyone who has worked in software development (or even bought some software on a regular basis) will know that.

Of course it is up to EA now to show commitment and fix the large & small bugs in a patch or multiple patches. Although, knowing their history, I am not getting my hopes up too high. Let's face it, the PC sports games market is a) more a nuissance than a big revenue generator due to the huge amounts of illegal copies and b) without any competition for EA, so all PC users have to buy EA products if they want games about the major sports. In a nutshell, they can really do as they please.

how about EA take a year off from the thing they call making NBA Live and put 3x the effort into there next game(Live 09) i wouldn't care if they had a year off

Maybe they're trying to be funny, having a 57 year old rookie just for laughs, like putting in the occasional EA programmers in.

Actually, this reminds me: You know the penis that was in The Little Mermaid? That was done by the artists who were pissed at the higher-ups at Disney because they weren't getting paid enough. Maybe that's EA's programmers way of telling us that those higher-ups at EA are screwing everyone over.

So your theory is that the programmers made a shitty product on purpose? I understand the jokes a la the John Carmack one in Quake or Doom (Carmack's co-workers made a secret room so everytime you tried to shoot at the boss of a certain level, you hit Carmack's head behind him), but this... I didn't imagine in my wildest dreams that a company like EA can afford to fall this low in terms of quality and the terms of customer relationships. One would think that the right bussines decision would be to apologize and make a patch, but no, they continue to ignore us and they continue to alienate their fanbase. I wan't 2k8 to be available for the PC, goddamnit.

Lol, i can already imagine the next bug. After season one in dinasty, Parker's face shape changes to the one of Shawn Bradley and Longoria leaves him.

check the player.dbf
josh boone is giving the dob of 19500713
just change it to 19841121

Naw, I'm just saying that there's a possibility that the programmers are sticking it up to their bosses since we keep hearing about the horror stories of what the programmers had to go through. What matters in the end, though, is that there is change. They took advantage of us for too long.
