i use 24 for gameplay speed but like i said, i like to play a slow tempo game, its not as slow as versions before so yea i like 24 but its up to your likings...

I got close to being statisfied with my sliders last nite.
I was playing NJ against GS (on PC, in superstar, 10 mn qt), and I lost after OT 112 to 105 I think (99-99 before OT). Despite the no CPU sub thing, most stats were pretty realistic. I forgot to do a screen capture, but here are most of the settings:

Speed: 40 (a bit too fast at the post, but I hate slow fast-breaks)
FT diff.: 50 (finally figured out how to use the new system, with my left thumb on the right stick :roll:, I might increase the difficulty now)
Boundary: 80
Fouls: 55/32/35/84 (might have to increase cuz I still wasn't getting enough FTs)

User:
Steal: 30
Interception: 25
Shot block 50 (still don't get enough)
Dunk/Lay-up Block: 33
Freestyle: 45
Dunk vs. Lay-up Frequency: 25
On-ball Defense Assist: 95 (not sure it makes any difference, CPU still cuts through like butter...)
Offensive Rbd: 2
Defensive Rbd: 99
Short Range: 34
Medium Range: 43
Long Range: 38
Adjusted Shot %: 40
On-ball Physical Defense: 90 (what does it really do??)
Poor Release Shot %: 35
Double-team: 77 (I think two defenders on a player should make a difference, except when it's Shaq or someone like that)

CPU:
Steal: 18 (still too many of them in superstar)
Interception: 18
Shot block 35
Dunk/Lay-up Block: 15 (still too many as well)
Freestyle: 25 (J-Rich dropped 42 pts mostly using FSS moves, even in unrealistic situations)
Dunk vs. Lay-up Frequency: 25
Offensive Rbd: 0 (still too many)
Defensive Rbd: 96
Short Range: 33
Medium Range: 43
Long Range: 37
Adjusted Shot %: 36
On-ball Physical Defense: 35 (still nearly impossible to get past a defender like in '06 in superstar)
Poor Release Shot %: 33
Double-team: 66

Basically, if subs had been made, CPU would have had pretty realistic stats: B-Diddy end up with 26 pts/10 assists (I changed CPU offensive strategy to Power C, as suggested in another thread, but then Foyle was scoring too much and ended with 14pts/17rbds!!), J-Rich 42 pts, Murphy 18 pts/23rbds :? ,...If they don't play 40 mn, it should reasonably go down.
Overall, the flow of the game felt more real than with "06, and if we do get a patch to fix the major bugs, it should be better than expected :wink:

thanks man.

one things for sure im not really an export in photoshop. i lowered the short medium and long range shots and it made a great difference of course you still need to play defense. i'm still working on my sliders ill post it once it's ready.

Im using Kabooms sliders, just tweaked a couple things towards my liking. Sped the game up to 44. The fast breaking needs a little zip to it. other than that, Ive pretty much stopped having the pg problem... scoring wise at least, cause i bring a guy for the double team when he penetrates. only thing is now that he doesnt distrubute properly. And Shooter A has GOT to go. if i watch that dumbass fading jumper animation again I will break my monitor.

Regarding that, which offensive strategy do you guys think would be best for CPU (at least until EA's patch hopefully fixes the issue)?
I've tried Power C, but then the center was definitely too involved in offense (and it was Adonal Foyle :? :? )...

yes, either through .dbf editing or by taking control of the CPU team before/during the game then go to playbook settings.

you can then give the control back to the CPU and the plays will stay.

I think u can do that in the .dbf file, but I do it at the start of each game for now (just by switching teams to the assigned controller) :?

I just played the rookie/sophomore game with el badman's sliders on all-star level (which i was struggling on with the ''out-the-box'' sliders) and beat the sophomore team 137-110... 8 minute quarters

I found the threes just kept on falling as soon as I got in a roll I couldn't miss (thats what I hate about the game) and the CPU couldn't hit anything. I think the score is a little high but it should sort itself out when I play the game on superstar.

JJ Redick high scored for me with 46 points (10/17 threes) and Aldridge pulled down 24 boards (but only 14 points) but like I say the score was a little high.

Yeah it's more than a little high :?
Weird, in superstar with my sliders (and 10 mn quarters), I never had anything so unrealistic regarding 3 pts, for the user or the CPU... I guess you would have to lower some % if you play in all-star.

besides the FG% and the PTS scored, i suggest we give primary consideration to FIELD GOALS ATTEMPTED. A real NBA team takes an average of about 80 shots per game or both opposing teams a total of 150-160 field goal attempts a game.

Those sliders are the somewhat mysterious ones.

Boundary force field supposedly prevents you from accidentally dribbling out of bounds by creating a slight invisible barrier, but I can't really tell if it works.

On-Ball Defense Assist gives you a better chance of causing the little bounce-off dribbling collision thing instead of having a player drive right by you.

Freestyle Effectiveness is also strange - it's been in the game since Live 2003, so I think it only affects Freestyle dribbling, and not Freestyle Superstars. It's basically how easy it is to get by an opponent using the right stick dribbling moves.

I believe this is the consensus view but I'm not positive.

Huh, I thought Freestyle Effectiveness affected mostly the efficiency of FSS moves (which is way too high usually), but if it's only for dribbling I'll probably increase it, seeing as how hard it is to pass by a CPU defender in "07... :?

Can you hit threes with that cuz I have a problem. No matter how much I raise the long range shooting slider, 3pt hitters make like 2 out of 10. That didn't happen in 06.

What i mean if i increase the boundary force field slider up, does it mean that i will not go out of bounds easily even the defender bump the player with ball or acidentally dribble out of bounds or the other way around

Who knows how to change default sliders in online playing?
EXMPl i made all cpu sliders to 99, but when i create game and play with my friends, those sliders become defaults (long range shooting goes down to 25)
and there's no chances to make a 3 pts :(
I m not talking about mach vs pc, i m talking about game in lan.
So how to change default sliders?

If I'm not reading or rocking out, I'm probably walking or watching others walk.

Yeah, I really don't understand. 0 offensive and 100 defensive ought to solve that problem, and a bunch of people tried to say that offensive rebounding was redone, which it isn't. I'm not sure what other sliders would affect that. If you take control of a PF/C you can grab almost every defensive rebound, which leads to 17-rebound halfs for certain guys, unfortunately. It's far from perfect in this regard.

Thanks to Bigkaboom2's Sliders i can post my own because his are very realistic but just a bit too high scoring. These Sliders work very well on 12 minutes and is very realistic scores. Most of the time the score doesn't go past 30 in the quarter but exceptions for the last quarter.
