Court Files and what we know

Thanks to JonathanAU for sending me the court files for the practice gym and the dunkpack gym.

What we know

Stadium files for the practice gyms can still be edited in the EBO editor
All textures are equal or lesser quality than in 06
All Arena Files are backwards compadible with 06
There is a new file for courts called "xxxxstd_flash.o"
Courts use the same lightmap techniques
Courts use the same lighting effects for the house lights
Court EBOs are still editable
Court FSH files are still editable
The new backboard is backward compadible with 06 (and damn sexy if you ask me)
The xxxxstd_scriptor.o still puts benchplayers in the middle of the court if you try and play a 5v5 game on the practice courts
06 courts will need no converting process to work in the game

The purpose for this thread is just to post what I know already about the court files without owning this game. I will edit this post with more knowledge when I actually get my hands on the game, and later in the year I will convert this thread into a new EBO tutorial.


I have the game and started to mess around with it,

my courts fit right into the new game!


so that works, the new cameras go into the walls more now, but I can fix that later

Looking good. Is that the 07 Practice gym?

screenshots shown are the DunkPack editing gym i believe (prac.viv)

the practice gym I think is still the Tandy court (pgym.viv) and is exactly the same as 06 except the floors are even less detailed.

All textures are equal or lesser quality than in 06

Wonder why they did that?

01 had better textures than 03
03 was better than 04
04 was better than 05
05 had some better than 06
and 06's are actually better than 07's

I loved live 2001 and 2000.


Imho 2000/2001 were the best versions.

How about we say fuck you to EA canada and actually get some ex-Madden guys to write NBA Live?


At least they didn't make a shitfest of the menus like in NHL 07

How about we say screw EA alltogether.. figure it out for outselves. And make the baddest ass updates ever!

There was a great site for MVP baseball that tried to make a MVP 06 that was just a lot of mods over the 05 version. Seeing how EA rebadges older versions with some improvements, then trys to stretch the release for 3 years or so.. this wasnt so bad I kinda thought that it was better than what EA would have done if they were lisenced to release 06. Their problem was that the guys who were developing the homebrew patch lost interest, and time on the project. So the project went down hill, but what was released was very good.

Which files are for the lines?

on the court? the textures are in xxxcrt.fsh, the position / logical way to do the color is xxxcrt.ebo.

Sorry but it doesnt work for me...
As I remeber: I had open miamcrt.fsh by Lagoa
Then I replaced all the 3 black files with the resoluton 64*32 by a white 64*32 picture,but ingame its still black!
