NBA Roster Cutoff

Sat Sep 23, 2006 2:03 am

Anybody know?

Sat Sep 23, 2006 2:42 am

August 1st is the date i remember.

Which is absolute bullshit. Allan Ray was signed on a guaranteed contract before that. The same contract that Will Bynum got last year before he was cut.

And yet, he's missing from the roster. But Leon Powe is, and he was not signed by the 1st of August.

I know remember the days when live came out about the time the season started. We didnt have all these missing players. But EA said they would come out with a patch later on.

in a PC screenshot i saw Eisley still on the bulls. i also noticed Ersan Ilyasova was not on the bucks roster according the to 360 rosters. I dont know why he didnt make it? He was on their team last year, and i dont think he was a FA.

Garbajosa's not even on the Raptor's roster, and he was signed ages ago. I don't think EA takes the rosters and ratings seriously enough. Actually, they probably think that Andrew and the community could simply do the rest of the work.

I strongly doubt either of those things are even remotely true.

I hope you're right, but according to http://sports.ign.com/nbalive07/toronto.html Garbajosa and Slokar are not even on the roster.

I've been playing Live since 95, and I've grown extremely frustrated with the lack of focus and direction EA had since the release of Live 2001. Every year, there are minor things that doesn't make sense or had been completely disregarded. This year, because sadly, we still have a strong and loyal fan base on the PC, they know that we are a community of patchers and rating fix-it-alls, so if their focus is on profit, they're not going to bother wasting their time with accurate ratings and accurate courts when they could be focusing on the next gen series and watch the money roll. They could care less about us when there's profit involved.

If you have a network adapter you'll be able to download some official updates...or unofficial ones if you have an Action Replay.

so if August 1st is the cutoff, then this
http://www.nba.com/transactions/august2006_trans.html
http://www.nba.com/transactions/current_month_transactions.html
didn't go down in NBA Live?

highlights:
Utah signs second-round pick Paul Millsap.
Utah signs second-round draft pick Dee Brown.
Phoenix signs free agent Jumaine Jones. (was he in 06?)
Houston signs free agent Casey Jacobsen.
Golden State names Don Nelson head coach. :!: :!: :!:
Charlotte signs Walter Herrmann. :!: :!:
Golden State signs Dajuan Wagner. :!:

so I guess Don Nelson isn't in the game?

Sun Sep 24, 2006 8:00 pm

Don Nelson stands a better chance of being in the game than the players. Perhaps their faces and audio will be left in the PC version as easter eggs as in years past.

Sun Sep 24, 2006 8:12 pm

I just don't understand every year after year the rosters cutoff seems to come earlier :? .I remember years back the roster cut-off was the 1st of October. What ever happend to that?
