From the guys who went to the event from EA boards.

Sun Aug 13, 2006 5:10 pm

Hey guys we made it back safely....the trip was awesome..... Smoothie did a great job and i tip my hat off to him for everything he did i really appreciate it man.... I'm Mad tired so i won't be recapping until the evening but lets just say that ALL OF THE ISSUES HAVE BEEN FIXED. I can honestly say that i don't have a single gripe about the game....On all the systems it's great.... PSP has a mode called 2ball.....You could spend hours playing that by it's self.... Next Gen is looking Phenominal.....The skin textures have been redone to make it look super real...The AI has been rewritten from scratch....they even have SHAWN MARIONS JUMPSHOT....the foot planting technology has really taken the game to another level as far is realism is concerned and your going to have to use good tactics to score because it won't be easy.... For all the current gen players you can forget about thinking all your gonna do is abuse the free style SS...NOT GONNA HAPPEN...it's been fixed....the animations are extremely impressive... the collision animations are really going to set this game apart from 2k.... The game is great on all levels.....No more doing a bunch of spin moves thinking your gonna score easy.....MAn i have a lot to type but as i said i'll do a full recap this evening.....So chew on that tid bit i dropped until i come on later....

DaKiNg.... PS picks will be up later

Good. That's a positive sign. Let's hope this is really true.

Sun Aug 13, 2006 5:31 pm

Man this sounds excellent. Maybe for once EA has gotten it somewhat right.

Sun Aug 13, 2006 7:08 pm

If only they could pick someone who can type properly... but seriously, Shawn Marions jumpshot, streaming ESPN shows and footplanting don't have me convinced this game will be worth getting let alone better then nba 2k.

I'm happy to hear that from a guy who tested the game, but ... well... let's see how it is exactly. Good work anyways. (Y)

I'm with Matthew, I don't trust someone who doesn't have that great a grasp on the English language....I'll wait for someone who does, like Andrew, to come back & report....

it's probably not really the English, it's more the source....I'd like a more reputable source....I don't really see this guy as a reputable source....it's like whether you're going to believe some story some lady from an old wive's group tells you....I just want to see what Andrew says....although I do believe, as any good business will do, EA will just feed Andrew & all the other attendees what they want them to see, all positives, no negatives....and besides, based on what this guy has said, he hasn't told us anything new or groundbreaking at this point, so I don't see the point in really going over it....

Sun Aug 13, 2006 10:17 pm

It may be that they are not allowed to talk about everything... That has always been an issue with EAsports... Like when Andrew has had the opportunity to ask some questions, he has had a lot of stuff on the table that the guys are not willing/allowed to answer. There are many secrets there... Stuff that the competition will not be allowed to see.

The quick review is good news... It is encouraging... I've been sold a long time ago (around Live 98), but will wait and hear what Andrew has to say about it (as he knows what we all care about and what are our major gripes on the previous games) and I'm anxious to hear a more complete review from the this Harlem guy too...

Any information is good information... Atleast it seems...

As it is with the rest of you... I'll be convinced with Andrews view on the game... Completely convinced.

Sun Aug 13, 2006 10:18 pm

The funny thing is, last year Shane came back and basically said the exact same thing... everything has been fixed, the game is great etc.

Sun Aug 13, 2006 11:09 pm

I'm skeptical of a review unless someone has played the game for at least 7 days.

But thanks for the info so far.

This is a guy who hated Live 06 so I beleive him and if Andrew come back and say the samething it really put the lock on the door.

I hope you realize M_Harlem didn't write that. It was by some other guy on another forum. M_Harlem just gave us a heads up

Mon Aug 14, 2006 2:00 am

i think most of the "problems" they are fixing are not even that big of a deal, atl least not to me. crap like foot planting i have never cared about and thats all i keep hearing about. then again i am all about dynasty myself with gameplay coming second and the few bits i have heard about dynasty have gotten me rather excited. anyone hear anything about mid game saves yet?

Mon Aug 14, 2006 2:31 am

nothing of mid game saves, so i take it that option is not available.

Mon Aug 14, 2006 4:38 am

Yeah, this guy is a legit source. I visit the EA boards quite often (although they have gotten ridiculous over the past week or two), and this guy got to fly up with another guy to the event.

Whether or not he knows what he is talking about, that's another story. I just know he really did attend the event. :D

I'm looking forward to hearing the review from him, but I'm even more ready to hear what Andrew has to say about the game.

I wish they would bring back the ability to sim a whole game without having to press continue after every quarter.

you can do that check your sim options.

Mon Aug 14, 2006 5:10 am

this is already in dynasty settings

Mon Aug 14, 2006 5:16 am

I am talking about exhibition games, not in dynasty.
