That's totally impossible for current gen systems. If they add all those hi-tech chips, cards and all that stuff is not only because showing better graphics, the CPU works so much faster and with "more quality" data. A PS2 can't run that technology.

I don't think it's impossible. Other sports games on current gen don't have that skating problem NBA Live's got. But at this point, i don't think it's likley they'll spend their resources on fixing that problem.

It's not totally impossible. NBA 2k6 has their "Hex-motion" which is the same thing.

The custom free throw animations are in the current gen version(PC). The foot planting technology is not.

The foot planting tech looks really smooth by now in the videos. Let's see if they can put good transitions there so there won't be skating when you change the running animation into the shooting one. If they can do it and add a pair of basic post moves the game will be great (98/10) now that we know all those cool ESPN features and game modes. Still lookin' forward to dynasty mode on next gen.

well....madden had it the last time i played it and NHL gaes ofcourse have it, but then you have to have it. soccergames have it a little when gamespeed is pulled up, i think.

Bball is a fastpaced sport thats why its hard to eliminate skating from PC versions.

I highly doubt that the current-gen versions will feature the feet planting technology. But it will feature free-throw rituals.
