Want to be in the official '07 guide? Author needs fan input

Sat Jul 22, 2006 12:48 pm

Hey everyone,

My name is Fernando Bueno, I am the author for the upcoming NBA Live 2007 Prima Official Game Guide. This year, we want the guide to be more fan-centric. Because of that, I am here trying to get some fan blurbs to possibly feature in the team section for the guide. The idea is to have something by a fan next to the team stats, history, and info for EVERY team.

If you're submission is accepted you may have your words glorifying your favorite team in the upcoming guide (with your name next to it, of course.)

Keep in mind, the submission must highlight a positive aspect of your team and cannot bash, flame, or "trashtalk" any other team or player.

Basically keep responses relegated to what you like best; your team's favorite era, notable figure, achievement, greatest moment, etc.

If you choose to participate, please do so by emailing NBALiveGuide@gmail.com with the name of your team, your name (real and/or forum username), age, and Blurb.
Subject line should read yours and your favorite team's name.

Example: Sacramento Kings, Fernando "Red Star" Bueno

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!

PS
Please respond to the email only. I will not be able to check in on every forum for responses. If you would all be so kind as to bump this topic up so it doesn't go unnoticed, I would greatly appreciate it.

Too hard to do the email thing, si I am going to do it here:

Toronto Raptors, Hipn (name later)

The team went through some changes. Front office and team. They recieved the 1st overal pick, and the GM, Brian Colangelo (sp?) selected a future star for this team. Expect the Raptors to make the playoffs this season.

Emails aren't any more difficult than posting in a forum. :? Fernando did ask specifically to be emailed about this as he won't have time to check every forum he's posting at.

Anyway, I'll sticky this thread so it won't have to be bumped.

Thanks Andrew. I just stopped by one more time to say thanks for stickying this.

I wouldn't trust half of you guys to write a school newsletter let alone be published in an official video game guide.

Wed Jul 26, 2006 1:35 am

I think I may try my hand at this. Later I'll sit down and write a mini-paragraph about the Lakers then hopefully I'll get picked.

Jae probably wrote his already and is just trying to discourage you from sending in yours so his can be picked.

Wed Jul 26, 2006 1:36 am

Nah I haven't written one, I just took note of the amount of illiterate spammers volunteering their services.

Wed Jul 26, 2006 1:43 am

I think you should do one for the Bucks and your homeboy Bogut. Demonstate how stupendous your literary skills are to these youngns. Just for kicks. (Y)

:D Good to see such a positive response. People chosen will definitely be notified.

Cheers all, and keep 'em coming!

Umm...will you mention something about the nlsc in your guide? I think it's only fair....cause we are the largest nba live related site.

I'm sure its too early to tell...

I havent made many decisions on who was chosen because I'm still waiting on a few more to come in. If you havent submitted something yet, trust me, its not too late. Though I've been getting a lot of responses, many of them sound like they've been googled. haha. Let me know why YOU like your team. Here is an example of one I have chosen for sure. (sorry bulls fans)

“I was there, when they won 6 championships. I was there when they drafted Marcus Fizer. I was there when we traded Elton Brand for Tyson Chandler. I was there in the Tim Floyd years. I was there when J will broke fans’ hearts by riding that bike. I was there for it all.
I love the Bulls for several reasons, but nothing compares with their desire to win and will to compete. They’re young, athletic, and they play amazing defense for a team this young. They remind me of a college team or an old school NBA team. Most of their core players are under the age of 26; that’s amazing when you consider that they made the playoffs two years in a row, and that’s without a player that is ranked in the NBA’s top 50. They prove that there is not always a need for a superstar and that defense and scrappy play can get it done. This is why I bleed red, black, and white.”

Keep in mind, I'm still looking to hear from Celtic fans, Hawks fans, Bobcats, etc. Its clear to see there are plenty of Lakers, Bulls, and Heat fans out there. lol.

Thanks again, everyone. I truly appreciate it.

This is pretty cool. (Y) I'll send a few in for the teams without many fans just for the sake of helping out, along with sending one for my suns.

That is very cool. Very well written, as a bulls fan, you had me shouting my agreement. The neighbours are looking at me again.

Marcus Fizer, fantastic stuff.

Yes, I got them. Thank you very much. I encourage everyone to do the same. You might not be in your favorite team's profile, but you might be in another.

Thanks again.

Ive sent one for the Sixers. This idea looks great. Any idea of when the Prima Guide will be in stores?

I'm a little worried that the supposed author of this strategy guide typed this:

If you're submission is accepted you may have your words glorifying your favorite team in the upcoming guide (with your name next to it, of course.)

"you're"? Oh, lord.

Oh shut the fuck up, Donatello.

Who cares?
