In live there is a flash thingy and the ball appears in your hand again after the little flash. but in this video the ball just goes dead in the middle of the paint, then it comes to life and bounces to you. That is like a big no-no. They should seriously address that.

"A big no-no"? I'm sorry, but that's a pretty a trivial detail especially at this stage of development. Even if it remains like that in the finished version...will it really be such a big deal? Assume other areas of the game are greatly improved (gameplay, Dynasty, some of the animations) and it's a real step up...are you still going to be upset about such a small detail? No disrespect intended and you're of course entitled to your own opinions but that seems a bit petty to me, and to call it a "big no-no" seems somewhat of an exaggeration. Surely there are elements of the game that are of greater concern.

Jing wrote:Also. no more of that weird little side passes.. .like when the player turns and sort of shovel passes the ball next to his waist with a weird turning motion. Players dont usually make that pass, and that kind of pass has no power and should not make it across the court untouched at such a high speed.

I definitely agree there, those passes interrupt the flow of the game and usually leads to lost opportunities since the defense has recovered by the time the pass reaches the intended recepient (if it doesn't get picked off). I was hoping to see less of that style of pass, that's one thing that I'd definitely take out or re-work so it's rarely used. Preferably only when it's appropriate.

improved gameplay and dynasty mode thats all ı need

I just want to know the screenshot is PC or PS2,Xbox  ??

I believe that's been answered several times now, but just to clear up any confusion: the screenshots are from the current-gen (PC, PS2, Xbox, Gamecube) version while the video is next-gen (Xbox 360, PS3).

Fri Jun 09, 2006 7:40 pm

Andrew, how do u think, ea planing to apply next-gen tech to PC version or not! to my mind, they're just ignoring pc, they always do cool for xbox, ps...

Fri Jun 09, 2006 7:42 pm

It was rumoured we'd be seeing some next-gen stuff in the PC version but that's yet to be confirmed. I'd expect it to be the same as the current-gen until we hear otherwise.

Fri Jun 09, 2006 7:50 pm

think we'll hear it? :D ea's stuff is too lazy to do so! let patchers integrate next-get tech in da game by themeselfs!

Fri Jun 09, 2006 8:00 pm

I'm sorry, but calling the production team lazy is quite ignorant and certainly disrespectful. I have no doubt a lot of hours of work go into the game. I honestly don't believe the problem is work ethic but rather focus. Please, let's cut out the "EA is lazy" comments.

As for whether they will or not, I've already answered that question as best I can. My guess is as good as yours but since that was only a rumour I'm not counting on it. I'll be pleasantly surprised if the PC version shares some of the more impressive features of the next-gen versions but that probably won't happen until the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube become more outdated and the NBA Live series is closer to no longer being produced for that generation of consoles.

Fri Jun 09, 2006 8:20 pm

Well I'm pretty sure the "dunk-on" animations weren't in Live 06 for next-gen. Remember, the game is VERY early, it seems 90% of you guys expect EA to give us a game that's about to hit the shelves. EA isn't gonna overhaul everything every year, of course they're going to work off the same graphics engine as last years version.

I actually have seen the new dunk on animations in the LIVE 06 for xbox360 and those were it.

They didn't overhaul it. Just the graphics and some new moves that they probably didn't use in the older live versions and they brought back some lay ups and animations from live 2003 and 2004. They always bring new anymations along with like 20% of the moves of 2 live versions before that. I bet in 07 the weird double clutch lay up the guards did in LIVE 2003 will be back too. :)

But that vid is from xbox 360. No way they would spend a year bringing out the same game. EA is bad, but not that bad.

The preview is pretty early, but remember last years preview? with the Demo? it was the same as the game only thing different was that Shaq's Power dunk package was different. The game itself was finished. The major things that is.

I actually was thinking about getting the 360 last month, but i decided to wait. I played the NBA 2K6 on PS2 for the first time and it SUCKED HARD ASS!!!! I don't get how guys say that that game is better than live. The same way you can dunk with live, you can dunk and do windmills with wade all game. And i couldn't even play D except for blocking some shots. I just liked the animations and the different types of shots and moves. also the crowd was better and the commentary. But i liked LVIE 06 better. So i don't think i will like 2K6 on 360 either. Since live 06 is the only 360 BBall game i decided to wait. And if the 360 live 07 looks and plays like that vid( which it wont) i'm not gonna buy the 360 or the PS3.

Wait wait.. If this video is from SuXBox360 and PS3 so where is step-planting and so ? We saw one video from PS3 Live 07 and it was nothing like this.

So.. There will be different versions for 360 and PS3, or this video was for PC...

damn, they should hire some of the talented patchers here

Okay here is the deal.....this vid posted is NOT from LIVE 07 from the next gen. It's the NBA LIVE 06 from the next gen.
The PS3 and xbox360 LIVE 07 will be different than this. I know for sure now that the vid is LIVE 06 and since no one here seen or has LIVE 06 on xbox360 just takeit from me. I played it a little. It isn't that bad, but not great either.

The PC and the next gen will probably be the same what gameplay is concerned. They won't develope different games for different consoles or platforms. Look at PSP version. its the same as the PS2 , xbox and PC games. Graphics is theonly difference.

Whatever that video is on the main page, it looks quite crap imo. The players move WAY too slow, and the jumpshots are ridiculous....
I really hope it isnt '07.

That's the media we have been sent by EA Sports previewing NBA Live 07 with a 2006 Finals tie-in, explicitly stating that all media was taken from NBA Live 07 in addition to the results. So I'm sorry, but unless you've received information to that effect from EA that I have not, I'm afraid you are mistaken.

Also I'm sure a couple of people have played the Xbox 360 version, I know for a fact Matthew has and for what it's worth he did not draw the same conclusion. You're free to believe what you like but the information I'm passing on comes straight from the horse's mouth as the expression goes, the media's from NBA Live 07. If you choose to believe it's from NBA Live 06 fair enough, but personally I choose to believe the information accompanying the media when it was sent to me.

yeah i read that , which was weird to me. I am not calling you a liar or anything at all. if anything EA just gave out the wrong info on the vid. The live i played was exactly like this, that's why i'm so convinced that this is live 06.
I just hope it isn't LIve 07  Please don't let it be true. If they just brought out the same game only with dynasty etc. I would really consider not playing live at all............really..................i think.

Sat Jun 10, 2006 1:44 am

I suppose anything is possible but in this case, I highly doubt it. If there has been a mistake, I'm yet to receive a retraction/correction.

Sat Jun 10, 2006 1:55 am

If that's the type of graphics the next gen consoles have, I'd be surprised if we didn't get it this year. Sure, the players are sweating and the jerseys are moving, the reflections are nice and the public is 3D, but there's nothing so tehnically advanced that a three years old computer couldn't handle it.

Sat Jun 10, 2006 2:38 am

I hope you're kidding me. Have you even read anything about the next-gen consoles? This is the FIRST year that PC would not be able to handle next-gen gaming. And have you read the stuff about PS3? A video card for PC that is just a step slower than the one in PS3 costs $550! Show me a PC game that looks next gen that you can run on a three year old computer.

Sat Jun 10, 2006 2:44 am

People are saying that the last year's 360 version looks exactly like this and quite frankly, I don't see any new additions that were presented to us at E3. Sliding is there, player models aren't exactly as improved as they could be (advanced facial animation?), etc., etc.. Sure, it's only June, but THIS kind of graphics should be easily handled by our PCs. I'm not talking about things that they will or at least say they will implement, I'm just describing the situation that we can see in this (low-resolution) video.

Sat Jun 10, 2006 5:11 am

I seriously doubt they could be easily handled by our PCs. Heck, some people have a hard enough time running Live 06 right now as it is. Current Gen Live 06 requires a 1 gb processor at the minimum. I seriously doubt that next-gen Live could be handled on a 1 gb processor with an ATI Radeon 7500 gfx card.

Sat Jun 10, 2006 5:28 am

I was able to run maxed out Live 06@1280x1024 on Athlon 1800+, 512 mb RAM and Radeon 8500 when it came out. With Radeon 9550 I can even turn antialiasing on. Considering my comp is quite old, I shouldn't be able to that sort of things with new games. You're forgetting how graphically unimpressive Live 06 (PC version) is compared to other games of our time.

Sat Jun 10, 2006 5:30 am

It's too early to say anything about anything. Those who whine are just too eager for their own good.

Sat Jun 10, 2006 11:50 am

Well SHAFT23, I owe you a retraction. ;) Turns out the video was indeed from NBA Live 06. So, my apologies for the error but the literature accompanying all the media identified the video as being from NBA Live 07.

The screenshots however are from the current-gen version of NBA Live 07.
