i dont think so, i traded a few players to one team and their original jersey numbers changed. I had to edit them back. But that is strange.

ah, the gameplay
vs computer (on superstar)
boring... every off possesion starts with a drive to the hoop, if you defend well it mostly ends with defensive foul... that's about it from the computer... i'll try and stick computer to the PG and I'll guard the post with a shot blocker, but it seems the same
vs human... direct ip
ther's no fatigue, you can play all the game with your starters, i guess that can be easily fixed with roster changes...
the gameplay is actually quite enjoyable, there are some concers about dunkers, we'll have to check more... shooters don't seem to strong... yet... OR are ok, there's no ridiculous come back code. there are still some block on the break from the foul line - battier on delonte west but the actual game looks just fine

I've finally got the game - just played a half on 8-minute quarters as the Clippers against the Lakers. Some of the stuff I've heard in this thread seems to be completely wrong. There were definitely no CPU substitutions and no sliders for them, but a few things didn't match up at all with what I heard.
The offensive rebound problem is barely any better. I gave up 4 in the half and none of them looked normal. Kwame came out of nowhere to grab three of them when Brand was right there. Shades of '06.
And the point guard domination thing.....it doesn't show up in my game at all. Smush Parker went 2/5 in the first half while Kobe went 13/20 and torched me for 27. CPU seemed to be running plays most of the time. The only time Smush went to the basket is if he somehow beat me down the court, in which case the turbo button no longer allows you to catch up with the PG - you'll just run at exactly the same speed as him, given that most PGs have similar speed ratings.
Other than these the gameplay is FANTASTIC. I've never had so much fun out of the box with a Live game. There are so many different ways to shoot that it's making me dizzy, and there's a definite sense of momentum.
Free throw shooting is very intuitive, and the rituals look great. The new FSS moves are probably the highlight of the game for me because they are incredibly varied and not overpowering at all.
I can answer any questions about the PC game for people.

I'd say that its alot easier to stay in front of a guy now. When he gets pretty close more than likely you will begin to body him up and slow down his drive. If he is quicker than you then he will eventually get that extra step to get to the basket but they never just blow by you. Additionally the help defender may come over to shut down the drive.
Basically stopping the PG/SG is not as hard as it used to be in 06 and in many occasions you can consistently force him to give up the ball or throw up a tough shot. The in-air collision animations are pretty nice and the fouls are called a bit more consistently.
Lastly, its not impossible to shut down a guy late in the game when your opponent is attempting a comeback. So many occasions last year you would guard the hell out of a guy only to see him hit 3s with guys all in his face (Then turn around and miss a point blank layup yourself). If you play good D you will win the game (no apparent cheating). If your blowing out a guy for 3 and a 1/2 quarters by 25 you wont end up winning by only 6 (unless you intentionally screw around).
Playing good, hard D is alot more rewarding.
P. Remember I only played one game so initial opinions may change..

Nice review, BigKaboom!
Can you start a dynasty and trade some players?
Because from what I read in the Dynasty Issue section,
after you trade your players to the other teams,
you can STILL use them at the next match......

I hate when you stand to take a charge, and are clearly out of the circle under the hoop, yet still get called for blocking. Even if your a second or two before the guy gets there.
Also sometimes i go to take a charge but my player gets sucked into defending the guy right by him...thats pretty annoying.

erm...so overall, live 07 is better than 06?...... but these stupid bugs...make me don want to try 07 out until they are fixed...

Ok, I'm seeing two extremes here: Point guard dominates vs. point guard isn't as much as a factor.
I really would like to hear more from dadamafia and BigKaboom2 regarding the point guard "domination issue" if you're able to play more games, against tough point guards and regular point guards.
I'm still trying to figure out if it's a primacy issue or a lack of tough, solid man to man defense.

Maybe this game is anti-Smush. Just played again against Hinrich - he would run a play, and if I shut the play down, whoever he gave it to would pass it back out to him. Then, as the shot clock ran down, he would start freestyle dribbling all over the place and then eventually hit one right in my grill.
I don't think it's an issue for every PG, but I don't have time to test right now. I'll post some more impressions in the next couple of hours.
EDIT: EA is definitely trying to force the Baseline camera on everyone - the only available 5 on 5 cameras are Baseline High, Baseline Medium, Baseline Low, and Press Box. Press box is not available in practice or dunk practice however. I use Press Box exclusively so it doesn't bother me too much, but there's probably someone who doesn't like this selection.

Played 3 games yet and in none of them PG was dominating..

Just played against the Lakers and neither Smush nor Sasha dominated. It was all Kobe all the time. However, Baron Davis dominated offensively scoring when I played Golden State.
I am finding that as I learn to play better on-ball
and help defense in stopping the penetration, the PG is spraying the ball around more, but still not as much as he ought to be.

Can anybody tell me if there are replays in the game? Are they same as in 06, or in the best old school style?
Thu Sep 28, 2006 7:03 am
Yo can you change the FSS abilities, for instance can I change like lebron from a
superstar outside stopper to not being able to be one at all?

So has Andrew made his sliders yet?
But seriously, are you still only able to control 1 team in Franchise mode?
Can you at least reorder the other teams lineup in franchise mode?
Are the computer generated players more realistic? (NOt haveing 3 7'5 guys in a draft and all 6'1 sg's)

Andrew hasn't made any sliders yet, I doubt that he even has the game yet.
You can only controll 1 team in Franchise mode but you can readjust the lineup in the rosters before you start a dynasty
Not sure about the computer generated players being more realistic because I haven't started a dynasty yet

maybe im repeating myself but didnt get the answer.
How are the replays in 07? 06-kind or good-old-school-kind?

The regular replays are the same, but the FSS replays are no longer as cool. They move at regular speed instead of slow-mo like the '06 ones, which removes some of the drama, and they rarely give you a good view of the ball going into the hoop - just a close up on the player.
Thu Sep 28, 2006 8:58 am
so... maybe im gettin annoing with this (sorry) but to be sure... there ARE the REGULAR replays? If yes, than thats cool, cause in 06 there was no such thing and it hurt me a lot.
