Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

i find that ESPN Integration stuff pretty boring hearing same stuff over and over again and after first time on madden 07. they should concentrate on gameplay implementing Traning Mode and Superstar Mode.

if it is true this is bullshit mann..
thanksss...
Sad to say that it is true. It's Next Gen only.
cocobee wrote:Andrew, thanks for the impressions. I have a 360 question, are you able to pause the game and look at an instant replay. I know last year they took that option out.I'm hoping they put it back in.
You certainly can.

I don't know how Madden utilises ESPN Integration but NBA Live 07 downloads real life results, news stories and video clips so it wouldn't be repetitive (unless you kept listening to the same updates while waiting for the new ones to come in every 20 minutes). They're not fake stories based on your Dynasty game.

Thanks for replying to all our questions. A couple of 360 questions:
1. Are the camera angles the same as 06 or are they improved?? (Better Press angle and sideline).
2. Can you select any jersey you want??? For example I'm playing at home but I want my team to wear their road jerseys???
3. Is the team chemistry and intensity realistic? Or does it go over-board or seem fake?
4. Can you intervene during simulation?
5. During the season in Dynasty, can you edit your players number, what they wear (headband, armband, etc)?
6. Is there a managers statement so you can view everyone's contracts from your team and other teams??
7. Is there any feature that will replace X Factor from the current gen?? Why did they leave out X Factor from 360??
8. Will players like Jay Williams or Charles Oakley be in the game in the free agent pool??? How does that work, who's in and who isn't???
Thanks again.

I just have a quick question. They said you can edit dunks for each player, is there any ways you can prevent say a Level 3 dunks (360, Windmills etc) in The Next Gen version? Cause I think it would be a positive for me if I can take out some of those ugly dunks they have in the game

I didn't spend as much time with Next Gen as I did Current Gen so I'm not 100% certain on some of these. There was a lot to take in across all three platforms so while I tried to be as thorough as possible there's some things I didn't really notice. I'll try to answer those as best as possible though.
1. I can't compare sorry, I didn't play NBA Live 06 on the Xbox 360.
2. I think so. I know that alternates are in the game but no throwbacks.
3. It seems good but you really have to play the game for a lot longer than we were did to get a really good idea of how well it's implemented.
4. I think so.
5. I'm 99.9% sure you can.
6. Yes, all the Dynasty Mode features from Current Gen are there.
7. Yes, "in the zone". I covered that in the other thread but for those who haven't seen it, it's similar to X-Factor in that the player must be kept in the offense throughout the game so he's in a rhythm come crunch time but unlike X-Factor it applies to all players (whereas certain players are designated as X-Factors on Current Gen). While they will play better once they get "in the zone" they won't temporarily gain FSS abilities as X-Factor players do on Current Gen.
8. No; players who are not signed to an NBA contract by the cutoff date cannot be included in the game. However, there seems to be a bit of leeway as far as including them for one year after they've stopped playing or if they failed to re-sign in the offseason.

I believe so, if you take the time to edit all the Superstar High Flyers' dunk packages.

Hi Andrew,
Great review!!!
1. May question is about the graphics. Are the players "hand" still open all the time?
2. Do you have any idea, why they didn't showcase the PC version of NBA Live? Is it because it's the exact duplicate of the xbox version?
3. Usually when do they announce if the product already have gone GOLD.
4. How about the "catch and shoot" scenario? Can you make a basket in 0.4 seconds? In 2006, i failed trying to shoot in 1 sec. It's always not counted.
Thanks.

1. Yes, they were.
2. I'd say so.
3. Close to the release. The game ships on the 25th, and will be on store shelves on the 26th.
4. I didn't really get an opportunity to test that out. There's a lot of scenarios that could be played out and there just wasn't enough time to see all of them, sorry.

No. A feature like that would have been announced a long, long time ago; that's not something they'd announce a month before the release. It would be a selling point, a back of the box feature. If/when such a mode is added to NBA Live, we'll hear about it and we'll hear about it in early previews.
NBA Live 08 is not in production yet. No information will be available on that for a long while yet.

can u give us some examples
Tue Aug 29, 2006 11:43 pm
I'm not sure you understood what I'm saying there. There's a lot of potential scenarios that can happen playing the game - both basketball related and bugs with the game - and it's impossible to see all of them played out so there's some questions I can't really answer having only played the game for a couple of hours.
I guess one example would be...in NBA Live 2005 and NBA Live 06 I had games where the CPU won on a buzzer beating tip-ins that clearly didn't come until after time expired and should not have counted. Now, those are isolated incidents and do not happen every game. As I didn't encounter that scenario while playing the game at the Community Day I couldn't say whether the issue has been resolved in NBA Live 07 or not.

Hi wat is the date of the rosters updated in pc?

"It seems that EA's reaching the limits of what can be achieved on the Current Gen platforms though I assume they (and most game developers) will begin to phase them out over the next couple of years."
What limits? Current PC's and video cards are more powerful than the now year old XBox 360, which is really a PC that can't be upgraded. Extra graphics etc. on next gen is a matter of time spent for marketing purposes, not capability of the hardware.
"Next Gen" is a marketing phrase. For example, the XBox 360 is now old technology compared to PC's. What makes a 360 "next gen" compared to a more advanced machine? How much more advanced, powerful, and based on newer technology will a PC have to be before it's considered "next gen?"

In my opinion, most PC users don't have that much power in their PCs. But I'd definetely can't wait to see next gen on the PC.
Wed Aug 30, 2006 8:11 am
ignatu: Current Gen is PS2 and XBox as well. It is those that reaching their limits, and since PC is a port from those, PC will under the same laws. Or at least until, as Andrew said, they will begin to get phased out..

Andrew will players have signature freestyle moves or will most have the same for nextgen?

As Andreas said, the limits refer to the PS2 and Xbox consoles and as the PC version is a port of that version, it too is being held back by those limits.

A lot of players will have signature jumpshot styles but they won't have any other signature moves apart from that.

Not as yet, sorry.

Hey Andrew, (sorry if this was asked before) , why does the next gen graphics for player faces look so terrible? PC's player faces look extremely close to what the players look like in real life. Next gen's graphics look awesome except for the player faces.
Fri Sep 01, 2006 3:15 pm
Couple Q's for you Andrew if you don't mind:
1)How were the bench player animation in current gen? I dont' know about '04 but '05 and 6 have completely static benchies. Do they react to misses/turnovers/dunk/3's etc. like in 2003 and next gen? Are coach movements more realistic as they tended to do this crouch animation pop whenever they turned.
2) Is the player's going to the wrong bench after quarter's bug fixed?
3)Is the opening presentation's of each game better? You mentioned the player intros were new but do they do warmups and stuff like next-gen 2k6 did or is it a couple of practice shots, then straight to intros?
4)Please tell me Marion's shot is in current gen!?
5)Did you shoot free throws with Nash? Did he do his whole pretend-to-shoot-without-ball thing 2/3 times like he does before the ref gives him the ball?
6) Does Nash do his finger licking in current gen? (I realize if you didnt play the suns then I lost a bunch of questions:)

I wouldn't deem the faces terrible myself but in any event I can't really answer that question because I didn't make the game.
cobbb11: I've answered each of those questions in-depth elsewhere in the thread.
Fri Sep 01, 2006 4:56 pm
They said six players will use their own dunks and lay-ups from using the motion capture thing.
Fri Sep 01, 2006 11:00 pm
Andrew, thanks for answering my first question.
Will NBA Live 2007 (360) make us pay for alternate and retro jerseys ala Madden and NCAA football?
It seems like that will be the trend for these EA games.
