That guy looks like the next Jordan getting drafted 3rd,

And the same players thing happened in 06, I always drafted Cameron Rand and Jamal Brett, two pretty good late pick PGs and they were always exactly the same everytime.

best guy i drafted was Dirk Moore a 6'1 shooting guard who's overall was 82. I got him at the third pick and he was already a superstar highflyer. His potential was good and yet he lost his superstar ability entirely next season :(

Sounds like a player who drank too much nets4life :P

Anyways... wats with the crazy birth places?

Sun Oct 22, 2006 8:36 am

I think EA has overdone this "bigger rookie impact" thing. Sure it sucked that the 1st overall pick never was rated higher than 75 in previous Lives but this is ridiculous. 93 overall?!? LeBron was great and hyped up in his rookie season but noway he was 93! Something like a 85 rookie should happen every 2 or 3 years not be a late second round pick every year...

in the mean time - developing potential should play a higher role.

I drafted d.humphrey with 2nd overall pick. he was rated 87.

Ashman23,

I was thinking the same thing. I can't believe the game also created basically the same player twice as it's meant to be all randomized, same name and height and birthplace. Weird.

man, it can happen... i was playing Live 2005 and i was playing with charlotte and i had a Rookie called Antawn Dampier which is 6'11'' and playing SF(his second position was PF). He was rated 84 and he had studied in Tulsa. Then i stopped playing it and started a new one with Live 2006. I was Bobcats again and Antawn Dampier with 6'11'' height, 84 rating appeared again. He had studied in Tulsa and he was SF(his second position was PF)... Same person in both games (Live 05 and Live 06)...

Post your highest rookie ratings.

edit: my highest so far = 82

Tue Nov 14, 2006 3:59 am

My highest was 87 - he was a star shooter...

Best draft I've ever had so far:
I'd traded for an extra first round draft pick and therefore had two choices in the first round in a Very Strong draft.

I drafted a 7'0" center rated 80 with SuperStar Power FSS
AND I drafted a 6'6" SF who I placed at SG rated 80 with SuperStar Highflyer FSS

Highest rated overall in that draft was 84, some guy called Rafael

Nice, I suppose your dynasty became boring easy though...

In '06 i drafted a rookie, who's name was :

Kobe James.

how come?

Rookies are too good. From a strong projected draft, all 1st drafters are rated over 70. Some are already over 90s in their 2nd year.

Sat Nov 25, 2006 6:38 am

I'll say thats more real. In '06 the best rookie was about 70-75 Ovrl.

Lebron and others were over 90's their second, meybe even first year.

Sun Nov 26, 2006 1:01 am

Yeah but not every class has guys like LeBron/Wade/Carmelo/etc...

See the next years draft for example, definately no 90's there, maybe a mid 80 but no more than that.

Wed Nov 29, 2006 6:39 am

I got a 30th pick.

And ovrl was 75. (Was Top 20.)

I'll say it's like a draft "steal".

In 06 I had a long dynasty with Miami. I played(simmed actually)till 2020 which is when I got tired of 3 things:
1.people's names(Whitman Lindow? Kebu Buford? Haji Tam? Marius Grayson?Mbembe? Camara?).
2.mismatch between height and position(I saw a 7'1 SF and a 6'5 PF wtf).
3.same people in different drafts.

The 3rd one was actually funny though, because In 2014-17 the MVP was that Lindow guy,and in 2017 draft i saw this name again, and I drafted him, winning 3 consecutive championships with him being 3 times in a row MVP and DPOY.

It's good to see that this year's Draftees are better than last year's(even though a drafted 93 overall is a little too much)and I hope that the 3 issues I've mentioned above are solved, because I can't wait to get this game already...

Marquis, i've the same dude! i guess he's a supstar highflyer?! it's a great bug!

Why can't EA think of better names?? IMO there are too many international players generated. (omg im sounding like a yank... )

Actually this is what the League aims for and what might affect what names EA puts in game. NBA is trying constantly to go more and more international, especially in an era where international leagues have developed in basketball quality quite, quite a bit. It is quite likely that in next ten or so years you'll see more and more internationals coming to the league

Fri Dec 01, 2006 8:56 pm

Yeah i agree, i just think its a bit unrealistic to have 5 African players in one draft class.

Fri Dec 01, 2006 9:02 pm

I really couldn't care less where they came from, as long as I don't get 6'1" SG's, 7'2" SF's and 6'4" PF's who have 90 speed and 30 quickness or weigh 270ish and have 30 strength.
