What about a "ESPN mock draft"? Is that in the game?

Has anyone experienced the following problem? It has happened to me once. I wonder if it happens after the completion of games also (before I can save my statistics and a Win/Loss in my season.

I exit a game in progress (say, in the 2nd quarter)
Then, the game closes and I'm returned to the Windows Desktop.

I also saw this complaint on the EASports NBA live forum.

Do you have the EA Downloader version?

There was a thread or a post from somebody with this problem, but I can't find it.

Thu Sep 28, 2006 3:51 am

Yes, I have the EA Downloader version of NBA Live 07.

Thu Sep 28, 2006 4:48 am

I don't know yet if I will buy the game this year.

39.99 $ it's I think expensive for this type of game.
I bought Nba live 2006 for 29.99 and Nba live 05 for 14.99.

I don't understand why the EA Downloader version is the same price !!! (no support, manuals, shipping, almost no cost !!!)

And unfortunaley, I like the nba live series .

What do you think about the price ?

Thu Sep 28, 2006 5:08 am

Yeah, I don't have any ideas on why that problem would occur, but it's good to know that it's specific to the EA Downloader version at this point.

Maybe if you wait a bit you can get it at a lesser price, or can get it previously owned or something. Or maybe a certain store will run a sale, etc. Good luck.

For example the price for nba live 05 was the regular price and I don't understand why EA did not keep this price
They need to increase the price for the version for XBOX360 and PS3 (80 or 90 bucks) because it's the next generation (Y)
and decrease the price for PC version ;)

The Bad: The PG takes most of the shots again (like an earlier version of Live). I played 1 half of the Pistons vs Timberwolves; Mike James (pg) lit me up for 24 points in one half and took more than half of his teams shots.

That's not unrealistic, that's what he also does in real life.

Thu Sep 28, 2006 9:19 am

You're a little late on that joke.

Thu Sep 28, 2006 10:13 am

Crystallas is absolutely right. Madden and NBA Live seem to be getting worse on PC and it is the developers fault. But in the end it's my fault too for continuing to buy their games. It's too bad there isn't any competion for EA Sports in the PC market.

Thu Sep 28, 2006 11:16 am

Yeah, I didn't bother reading the entire thread because I thought I was a genius that could easily interpret the entire thread and formulate such an amazing joke.

I stayed away from 06, but was pleasantly surprised when I bought 07 today and played it. Only thing I could use is maybe some control configs from someone who has the PS2. Since I'm on the PC it would be very helpful if someone would give me a control config for my PS2 controller. I like this game though, EA has earned back some points this season.

EA has earned back some points this season

I hope you are right

Here's what I think is good:

New graphics/animations
Fewer steals, blocks, turnovers for more realism

And what I think is bad:

Layup and dunk are inverted on offense using direct pass
After a deflection out of bounds by the CPU, the ball is given to the CPU (at least for me)
Every point guard seems to be able to score at will. Speedy Claxton scored 20 on me before half time with 12 min. quarters. Luke Ridnour and Derron Williams did just about as well.
The CPU scores around 70 per half with 12 minute quarters
No subs by CPU

Am I expecting to much or did EA release another unfinshed product?

Thu Sep 28, 2006 1:18 pm

70 per half with 12 minute quarters is about as good as it gets from EA out of the box (without touching sliders). it has been A LOT worse in past years.

The PG problem is not a problem IMO,
to me it is more a result of poor defense.

I used the Lakers, I got lit up by Chris Paul in first half for 22 points!!!!!
Then, I chose not to guard the on ball player anymore and Paul only scored 5 points in the second half.
Moreover, he passed more and Peja got a lot more touch than the first half

I think part of it is the defensive learning curve, but there is definitely an issue with the PG dominating the ball, and even when he's not getting to the hoop, taking an awful lot of jumpers. Fear not, though -- we're working on a fix already. :D

- Fatigue Problem. Bug needs to be fixed and there is no option for fatigue which pisses me off.

- CPU Sub. Don't have to explain about this anymore as it was mention by other users with the same problem.

- PG Dominate the game. Already been mentioned.

- I hate the new Free Throw. It's so cheesy. I rather shoot the free throw manually by the bars moving back and forth like the previous NBA Live games.

- Superstar Mode sucks. Seriously, why didn't they just make it the same as 06' with adding more dunks to the game.

- Player ratings are off a bit. Needs more tweaking.

To sum it all up, this is by far the worst NBA Live game I have played so far. NBA Live 06 was a much better game than NBA Live 07.

I know alot of people are bangin on this year's version of the game alot. I for one disagree. I am stoked. I have only played about 2 exhibitions worth, but this game is about 2 tweaks away from beinig OUTSTANDING. The sub/fatigue thing is definatley unacceptable. Someone had better have gotten fired for that. How does that not come up in testing? Other than that, I think the gameplay is a significant improvement over last year. We have a plethora of talented patchers here at NLCS who will take care of all of the roster issues. I think things like the point guard dominance can be addressed by getting used to the game and tweaking sliders/ratings. The dunk/layup direct pass thing is annoying, but I assume that after playing a dozen games or so, I wont even realize it anymore. Alot of people are bitching about this game. There are alot of areas in which it could be improved. All in all, it is still a very nice upgrade from 06. Also, I am very confidant that EA will come out with a patch for this sub/fatigue thing. I highly doubt the other complaints will be addressed. The sub/fatigue thing was just a big oops.

Thu Sep 28, 2006 3:19 pm

maybe they missed up alot and putted the "old" on print, not the "new" one

i think they have many versions of lives, and the man who puts the "prototyp" on print, choosed the wrong version?

i dont live in USA, but someone who lives, should call to ea sport and ask, if they putted the wrong version of live on print or why they have so many bugs!

bitchin dont healp, but if someone would call, that could help

Thu Sep 28, 2006 4:27 pm

How does that not come up in testing?

The only logical answer is that EA is fucking retarded.

Thu Sep 28, 2006 9:58 pm

They aren't retarded in my opinion. They do seem to have gotten lazy with their PC sports games. Maybe when, or if, they switch to next-gen on the PC, things will change. Does anyone know if next years version of Live will be like the PS3/360 version? I heard Madden 08 will be.

Thu Sep 28, 2006 11:43 pm

I havent played Live yet (im goin to soon), but I think this might be the year that I pick up NBA 2k7 for ps2 instead of Live. I usually stay away from 2k games but this year the game seems like its better than Live.
