That's what the producers said. . .They didn't change much, they just focused on the gamplay. I don't know why people are acting so suprised. These vids still play better than the next gen. I don't know If I'm even considering next gen live this year, I didn't mind 06, and if they improved the gameplay of 06, then I'm totally fine with it!!!

Check out those tutorial videos in the 4 package in the other post in this forum. Some of the normal dunks/layups and even some more simple alley-oop dunks seem apparent. With approriate sliders, and some modifications, Live 07 is going to be quite a joy to play, if I do say so myself.

Is Not a Basketball game site???

NLSC is a EA fan site??? NBA Live have negative points, sorry if this site don´t see the two sides! :?

If i posted Live is Great, Live is perfect you like? Cmon! Thats sound stupid think! Ridiculous.....

I play NBA Live since 1994 (for Genesis) i like this game, every year, i play this game, but i´m not idiot! EA and NBA Live have problems....

Lord knows I'm just as much of a critic as anyone. You are just posting negative things about the game, which you have the right to do. But you are saying things like

-DIE EA SPORTS!

There's just no need for that.

Dadamafia- I totally agree- they blow at the game.

That's something that I feel a lot of people aren't realizing. I was just re-watching a video of Nuggets vs. Sixers, and basically one guy was just using AI and driving and throwing up a shot/layup with collision every time, and the other guy was doing the same with Miller. There were clear outlets for passing, dishes, etc. but these guys sucked.

As I've been saying, based on what we've seen animation wise (some sweet new off-balance shot animations as well), Live 07 with proper slider modifications and some mod tweaking, is going to be the best Live in quite some time. Count on it.

I do see a lot of new moves and dunks and some of the dunks i liked in 04 and 05 that are back. If they just stop the easy dunks this year it will be a lot better. And it looks like they have and otherwise with soe rating tweas it should be good. I like what i have seen. The game animations look pretty smooth too in the videos. The 360 still is choppy, but i think they'll finish that efore bringing it out on the market.
#EDIT#
By the way. I'm now talking about the videos on IGN .

All the complaints from Live haters in these threads sound exactly like going through an 82 game season and hearing Marv and Steve banter about the same action in the gameplay over and over again. I for one would love a lot more variety in the commentary, voice overs, in game organ music etc... How exciting would the game be if you had 'Highlight" games (xmas game/playoff/rivalry) with different announcers/commentators with fresh new commentary done in a completely different manner. I think there is more room to add this kind of feature in current gen which would satisfy most people's requests for a deeper game with better replay value. As we all are sick of hearing people complain about the same things, Its always refreshing to hear a new perspective even if negative. But than again, people played mario bros. for sooo long with the same crappy music. Maybe i'm asking too much. We shall see.

Most of the commentary I've heard in the videos is brand new... how can a claim like this be made when the game's not even out and we've had limited audio exposure to the game??

commentary isn't really important. The crowd and ambiance are more important to me. I mean i've watched probably a thousand games in my life and i still enjoy Marv Albert saying the same things in regular NBA games so you get used to it and eventually you don't even hear it.

some people are stupid enough to think that the negative comments are based on "EA/NBA live hate" or "2K love".

its pretty safe to say that 99% of this so called NBA live haters are longtime live fans that still buy the game but get frustrated by the ultra slow or non-existant evolution of this series. there are many PC gamers that don't have any other option and buy this game only to see their hopes of having a decent bball sim on the PC platform get destroyed year after year by this franchise.

most of the newer players don't understand that arguably, this game was closer to emulate a basketball game six years ago than it is now. this new fanbase of NBA live doesn't know that this game had features like in-game saves, drop down menus, the ability to see a displayed diagramm for each play in the playcalling screen, the ability to manually set up a pick when playing locked on a specific position, stats saving, etc...

most of the harshest critics to NBA Live come from longtime patchers, moderators and old school live players that would absolutely LOVE to have fun playing NBA live after all this years buying the game and spending so much time on it.

some of you fail to realize that every year that passes, it gets harder to accept the fact that EA adds features to improve the game and in the process they take away a much needed feature or add a new "game-killing previously non-existing" bug to the game (like overpowered moves, deflection turnovers, offensive rebounds, into the stands blocking, players getting stuck with each other, etc).

just my 2cents

peace out.

I agree. I have high expectations for this year... as in every other year. I like how they're actually focusing on gameplay this year, but I hope it'll be a better simulation than last year's. I don't care if they marginally improve everything else, but if gameplay comes closer to "real-life" then I'll be happier.

Donatello wrote:Please stop bashing EA all over an EA fansite. Thanks.

:shake: I'd be offended to be a poster on an "EA fansite." I'm not here to suck on EA's balls, but as Voxel said, to be critics. While Lagoa took it to the extreme, there's nothing wrong with bashing EA for some constructive criticism.

Cool, they even have a commentary description (during foul shots) for Eric Snow. Hopefully they have for more roleplayers like that.

Criticism seems to be the only way to make change, unfortunately. Why do you have a wishlist EVERY YEAR if the game doesn't deserve to be criticized? You'll continue to get a subpar product if you just "accept" everything they throw at you. What better and more honest criticism can EA get than the criticisms from the NBA Live fans? Most of us complaining ARE/WERE loyalists to the franchise. It's not about 2k, its about EA's turtle like progression.

I went from blindly buying the game on the release date to having to rent or preview before I spend my money. I realize that the only way to give a credible critique of the game is to play it. But it ain't looking good right now...at all...particularly Next Gen.

voxel you're right.....but in my case for example...i play live since live 98, 2000 was the best in my opinion so far*lol*.....but hey....look at the new features this year.....how can someone call that "slow evolution" this time??
this are huuuge steps away from 06.....it looks so much more real and the dynasty is the deepest ever!....are all of the complaining about the little steps wich are done on graphics??....hell most of the TRUE live fans here don't really care about graphics if the gameplay and dynasty is fine! and this seems to be the deal this year.....!!

and everyone who things live 06 pc should look like next gen.....hm.-..well.....compare your pc hardware to this:

xbox 360:
-two 5ghz corez....so its got abaout 10 ghz!

-about 12 gb of ram!

-and a graphic gard that is at the level of 8 ati radeon X1900 xt's!!!!

if you think theres such an pc out there....and you can afford it...go get it....THAN you may are able to think about playing next gen games on your pc!!!!

Thats nuts  Thanks for the info, i had no idea...

Despite my earlier thoughts, im impressed by how this game is looking. I like the look of the gameplay, and the player models still look great on current gen. But none of that matters until i actually play it

i play this game since more or less that time too, i still miss the ISO cam angle that was there for ages and they took it out some years ago (just to name an example of features we had that went AWOL).

i certainly agree on nba live 2000 beeing the best, that's why i've said "six years ago, bla bla".

the slow evolution part i refer to, is that the gameplay part of the game (not the graphics, which i don't care about at all) it doesn't basically improve, it just takes different turns. some examples of this are:

-one year the game is all fast breaks, the next year there are no fast breaks at all.

-one year there are too many blocked jumpers, the next there are no blocks on jumpers at all.

-one year pro-hop is overpowered, the next year pro-hop is useless.

-the offensive rebounds are about right, the next year there are too few, then the next year there are too many and then we pray to god it doesn't kill this years version.

see... what i've meant with my post is that the harshest critics come from people who are tired of buying the game hoping for a new feature to be implemented correctly and then having to wait 2 more years till they get those features right... and in the process taking out other things they did correctly years ago!!

they said live 06 was too arcadish and they've tried to fix it this year... well live 2000 and live 2005 were not arcadish so what we are getting is not evolution, it's just taking turns. this year they are going to be close to great, then they will screw up with another feature next year only to fix in the other year....... this is what i call "slow evolution".

well.....i think my way of thinking about things is different from most people here^^

you can complain about no real new features...every year....you can be angry about the missing REAL evolution...

OR

you can be happy with what you get....and i believe we're getting the best live....at least since 2000 if not the best ever!...

or you can just decide not to buy it anymore...or get a console and play 2k6....or just no ball game..... but i and i believe many others here....are really looking forward to the game.....and it's really annoying me to see all this people who are complaining about every little thing.....exept of looking forward to an muuuuuch better game than 06 was!

as they said.....this year they focus were 90% at realism and gameplay.......if someone isn't happy with that.....please don't ruin the happyness of the ones who are......

and voxel.....don't think i don't understand you......

but i can understand the ways of ea.......

if they put ALL new things in.....advanced all star game(skill challange etc)....more modes (2 on 2.....3 on 3....streetball...).....creation zone....

and so one
then we get an perfect game....and then???.....what should they bring up in without getting away from a realistic authentic nba game???

i agree that they will put some new stuff in in live 08....if 07 plays as well as it seems

and hey....to all who are complaining about ea

this year they really REACTED to our complains about live 06!!!
