Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

well, besides patching and editing, the PC always had the graphics edge over consoles, well until the next gen stuff came out that is. But most people over here have been playing Live for a couple of years, and the next gen stuff pretty much just came out. So lets see, PC: Highly Customizalbe, Better Graphics, On-line Play... I really don't see any reason to buy a console version of Live.
But all this next gen stuff is crazy, I know that the PC has the graphics and processing power to match a next gen console. However, as only a few people own a 3~4,000$ PC capable of all that, this year's PC version is really toned down compaired to what I've seen of the Xbox360 version. All this is really getting me tempted to buy a Xbox360 + Live07, which all together would still be cheaper than to upgrade my PC to a next gen contender.
Oh yeah, about the TV issue, I'm pretty sure you can hook up the 360 to your monitor.
Anybody thinking the same around here?

Can someone who has extensively played it on PC and Xbox/PS2 comment on the differences/similarities when it comes to gameplay... the controller issues etc?
You can use the ps2/xbox controller on pc if ur used to 1.

the controller i use for my pc is an exact copy of the ps2 controller

you have to be retarded to play a game on the computer
Thu Sep 07, 2006 10:26 am
And you'd have to be retarded to say stuff like that. You better change your attitude or you are gonna be on the NLSC banned list in a matter of hours.

PC is great! As everyone has said; it is basically the most convenient of all platforms for needs like dynasty stories, editing, etc...
And to that Hey 8itch guy... change ur name man..

I don't know where you live and stuff costs there, but you can easily get a really powerful PC for 1500 euros... That's about 1800 dollars in Finland... When talking about the machine it self... Not including monitor, keyboard, mouse etc. other stuff... And that is top of the line pretty much. If you want to go overboard, you can pay anything you wish for a computer, but over 1500 is pretty much over kill... In Finland. If you have to pay 3-4000 dollars for a computer and 500 dollars for a console, I can see where you are coming from, but the CPU prices have come down a lot in the last couple of years... Actually...
And a computer is easier to sneak by the wife at home... You can "work" on it from home...
And its not like you need a top notch computer to play NBA Live 07...

Can someone post the computer specs needed to play live on the PC i am concidering it........
Question about roster updates:
Xbox provides updates as well, however the main problem is, lets say u already started a dynasty... you cant very well change the rosters mid season.. at least xbox u cant... can u in PC?
thanx

If you're good at editing dbf's then yes. Even then, it'll take a whole lot of work since you'll have to edit them manually outside of the game. Oh yeah, the PC version doesn't have official updates from EA like the XBOX version. Most of the updates we get are from patchers like Andrew. A number of people prefer that since it's done by people who focus more on the rosters and do this out of passion rather than some EA employee who's somewhat doing this out of obligation.
About the specs. I think you can find it in the main site under the 06. 05, 06 and probably 07 will have more or less the same spec requirements.

Strange, I've never experience this -- espeically if you play after a fresh system restart.

like every one hear, i love to play this game on pc.
the patching of the game is one of the reason that the pc its best for me.
i buy ps2 befor 2 munts...the reason that i buy this consul was nba 2k6 and wwe smack vs raw 2006, this 2 games didnt get a pc version and regretfully i neded to buy the ps2 consul to play this 2 amazing game
i have the nba live 06 in ps2 and and in the pc virsion in my opinion the pc version is the best.
and now one question, most of the pepole playing in the pc version why EA prefer to to invest in the consul and not in the pc version ?
Sun Sep 10, 2006 2:09 am
I sayI'm usually in front of the pc anyways so why not play it there.

id have to say, pc version, i mean for me, i use to be a heavy console version player, but in 04 thats when i got hooked, a friend showe dme the nlsc and been here every since, i gotta say, i had the pleasure of chating with a few gr8 patches in the community, and seeing the work that has transpired over the years shows the dedication.
im looking to next few weeks in upgrading my pc, i can not change my processor because it's intergrated, but i was speaking with my cousin, and he was telling me i need more ram, im currently running a nvidia 6200 card, and my processor is 1.3 ghz, question is though when adding ram and a new hard drive will that make my pc faster is processing terms or ?
what i would like to get is atleast that 7800 card, 512 ram ( at 256 now) and atleast 100 gig hard drive only have 33 gigs total, and now down to like 14. so any help on that would be cool?
as for back tot he topic hey, like i said there many great things you can say about useing a pc, over a console, but as it was stated earlier, it's a convienence, to have the pc, movies, recorded tv, live tv, music, games, endless amounts of activity.
i was a heavy console person, but i dont think ill go back to them, there getting way to over priced, in buying the system's ect..., being that these system's seem to becoming out about every 5-7 seven years, i just cant justify now spending $500 ( 360 ) $800 +( ps3 ), id rather put that money into a new pc or upgrade slowly to mine.

Pardon me if this was said before, but I didn't read all the replies in this thread, as I don't really care about the technical mumbo-jumbo.
I believe the real reason that alot of people on this internet forum play the PC version is because this is an internet forum. Computer geeks frequent internet forums, so of course their preference is more than likely going to be the PC version of a game.

I think I may finally convert to PC. Every year I make classic 80's teams but they only allow you to make about 70 players. On PC its seems like you can basically do just about anything. I know nothing about patching but I find this very exciting. I heard that the 360 was supposed to allow you to patch. Is this true?
Mon Sep 18, 2006 2:31 pm
coz after a season or two, (or even right on your first season if you want) i can hack the roster (via MS access) af all teams and make super players (usually out of the rookies) and make super teams (i usually make 2-3 super rivals) thus making the games really challenging..
right now, on live '05, on my 11th season, i created a super blazers and a super knicks (i play the bulls) and last season, all three of us finished with 70+ wins..got to game 7 on the conf finals and finals..(won game 7 by only a point on 2 ots..

)

Nay my good sir.
Technically it's possible but if you want to do more than just update your rooster

then you have to mod your 360.

For myself I play Live on the PC because of League play. You can create your own league however you like it and keep track of scores stats, wins and whatever else you care about. I used to run UNLL league and it was fun because it was like the real thing. We had regular season, playoffs and analysis of the games played, weekly power rankings, trades. The cool thing is you would have a forum to trashtalk or congradulate each other. You don't have that with consoles.

PC is straight up wack, Xbox is where its at
