Thanks for the news, it was a great read.

I have one questions for you, how was the frame rate on the next gen version?

Hey Andrew, Thanks for a great report. 3 Questions though;
1. Can you break up your mid level exception and give to two players?
2. Can you trade picks during your draft, and 3. trade future draft picks?

Thanks again!

Looked pretty smooth to me. I don't have an exact figure for you though, sorry.

1. I don't think so, unless I missed something.
2. No to both, unfortunately

Mr. Andrew, I have three simple questions:

1. How do you backdown this year ? with the right analog or another button ?

2. That thing of playing time in % ... Do you know if it works for in-game auto-substitutions or only when simulating games?

3. Still is that bug on the net ? I mean... when it messed up... I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. :? :D

Thanks, and you did a great job on the recap. EA Sports and we all should be very glad to have you as webmaster ! (Y)

So, I guess, no new foot-planting technology for old Xbox and PC? We'll still have to deal with skating on the court or maybe they've put some effort into fixing it on current-gen (which is capable of handling "next-gen blah blah" foot-planting technology)?

By the way, did you ask about when they'll try to move PC version to next-gen (and why so late )?

1. It's the same as last year, right analog.
2. Pretty sure it's only simulating
3. No, the animation looks much better this year. :)

It felt like there was less sliding and "waterbug" movements but it's much more noticeable on Next Gen.

I'll answer some more questions tomorrow (well, later today). I need to get up again in less than five hours to go to work. :(

Hi Andrew -great review!!
I have one question:
Is there a wide screen resolution for the pc game (1440x900)? I look forward to the day I can play without any picture corruption And pc wide screens are not that rare anymore (I think…)

OK, I'll do those questions real quick.

They can't say at this time. My understanding is that it depends on sales for the Current Gen console. When they start phasing them out the PC version will hopefully go Next Gen.

The PC version wasn't on display so I can't answer that, sorry.

Whey the hell they moved the backdown to the right analog stick last year and why the hell they maintain it ? I would have asked that if I was there.

Great recap, Andrew. It answered many of my questions and confirmed some of my theories about some stuff (esp. dynasty). I do have some Q's though:

1. The first one is just to get something clarified: you answered an earlier question about the primacy bug that primacy wouldn't affect the game as much as earlier. Is the reason for this the new play time manager? And about this new feature will you only be able to give a player playing time at their primary and secondary position? (or perhaps they've added a tertiary position?) In other words would I only be able to play a player like Joe Johnson at the two guard positions or can I give him time at SF?

2. I understand the problems concerning the legends, but will there be any new legends added this year? (Like Sir Charles)

3. I remember reading somewhere - I think over at IGN - that the players in 07 had almost 3 times as many ratings as previously? What are these new ratings? Are they tendencies or actual abilities?

4. and finally besides the ability to change a CAP's dunk pack were there any other changes in CAP?

The answers will be much appreciated...
And now for something completely different....

Great Report Andrew! For the X-Factor, is it only gonna be the players off the bench such as Horry or Posey or it could be clutch players like Kobe and Melo?

Postby aholbert32 on Wed Aug 16, 2006 4:01 am

Andrew,

is there a season mode in the 360 version and is it like last years game where you could control every team? Thanks.

Fantastic review andrew, the most detailed one I've read yet. Thank's for giving us all the great info, it's much appreciated.

Two quick questions though

1. Have they implemented a save stats patch, or will it have to be created manually like it was this year?

2. Since you didnt demo PC I'm not sure if you know the answer to this but... When you play a direct connect game the person who isnt hosting usually get's funny speech ID's for all their players. For instance, Steve Francis is called Sean Respert. Do you know if this problem has been fixed?

Do you know if the starters come out at halftime, or does the players that were last on the court come out like 06?

Dayumn, that was one hell of an in-depth post Andrew  Thanks for writing such an in-depth review (Y)

One question though:
How's the in-game dunk pack editor?

Did you try create-a-player mode?

I was wondering if you could set a rotation in real-time games as well. That would be a great addition, as it could help in not slowing down the action online, and in dynasty mode. That way all I would need to do is call a timeout and when it was time to give my players a blow they would get a blow.

Andrew good stuff (Y) .It took me a while reading,I am a little lazy, but I would like to thank you on this great report. The gameplay sounds great.About the graphics, hell I don't care much about graphics. They fixed a lot of bugs and hopefully I'll play this game for a while this year.I just have a feeling that people will find something else bad to say about the game and EA.Probably the graphics on next gen  .For now no questions from me.

And thanks again Andrew for your report.
