i think they tried very hard to make the ps2 version look as bad as possible in that screen comparing the ps2and ps3 version.... don't you tihnk it looks a little forced? Looks like an early version of a ps2 game.

Actually ceewah does bring up a valid point. There's no question Kobe's a great player, one of the best (if not the best) player in the league right now. However, the rape allegations have damaged his image and he has lost some of his marketability as a result. In any case, he would appear to still be under contract with another developer in which he case he couldn't legally appear on the cover of NBA Live anyway.

LeBron was rumoured a couple of months ago but the fact T-Mac has been featured in a lot of the early preview media alongside last year's cover player Dwyane Wade suggests he's not a bad guess at this point.

Vince Carter only played 43 games in 02-03 and they made him the coverboy for 04. I suppose anyone can be chosen.

Mind you he was still selected to the All-Star team that year showing how popular he remained with the fans so it was still a good decision in terms of his marketability.
