Or this was the reaction he was anticipating...

Ive been thinking about this whole sueing EA thing, and while a law suit is out of the question, I think this is something that could be put to the Comsumer Standards Authority. Im just cloud talking at the moment since I didnt read many of the official previews, but is there anything that EA said would be included in the final product that wasn't. If so that is a case of false advertising.

But since I dont take Law I dunno how it works with games, I imagine there is some way EA would be able to get around the false advertising thing anyway.

Anyway enough of my rambling, I look forward to hearing what their reply was to you Donatello (Y)

yeah in the US we have something called the Better Business Bureau. What it does exactly, I'm not sure but I think they could help.

I just didn't have time to disect the email for you guys earlier.

I still don't really, but it just basically is adressing both Andrew and I (CC) letting us know that things ARE being looked at, and he wanted to know who the primary contact for this should be.

Tue Oct 03, 2006 10:28 am

That sounds (Y) . I am content.

Tue Oct 03, 2006 10:31 am

Nice job, hopefully that'll lead somewhere (Y)

Tue Oct 03, 2006 10:37 am

Yeah that sounds much better, hopefully it results in a fix (Y)

Tue Oct 03, 2006 11:04 am

Good stuff. With the petition and Benji's letter, Andrew should be able to drive the point home.

Tue Oct 03, 2006 11:11 am

For EA to ignore the complaints and voices of even the higher ups in this community would really mean they dont care about their fans. They need to take us seriously.

Well the reveiws are in on all platforms, And what a suprise LIVE 07 is shit!!!

I would hate to be on the Live production team, because they are responible for this rubbish. They're the one's who have to answer to the EA bosses, because at the end of the day, to EA it's all about dollars and this game is going to rake in diddily squat!!! compared to the lives of the past.

I wonder what the thinking right now, because they've fucked themselves over for next years 08 too, Who's going to buy it?, Were not going to be sucked into the hype again, as stated by others, "this was the last straw"!!!

It's funny if you think about it, EA's only salvation will be to fix the PC version with a patch.

Thats right the PC version!!!, because if they do, we will be the ones who give them a chance next year, no one else will especially the console owners, their totally screwed because they can''t be patched and i don't think EA will recall them.

So "Tim" please stop crying, take your thumb out of your mouth and get up off the floor, forget about telling the EA boss that "someone sent the 50% build by mistake to production", and START WORKING ON OUR FUCKING PATCH!!!!

I don't know why, but that part made me burst out laughing. I've been in a bad mood all day, so that was nice :)

We should keep the pressure up until they actually make a good game again. Without the bugs Live is still merely mediocre. The bugs are the pinnacle of the lack of attention EA paid this title, the true display of that is how 2004-05 records come up in "Play Now!" or a large amount of the players have the same data in the players.dbf that they had in Live 06.

Can't be agreed more, we need to do something to go public on media, it's not about "If you don't like it, don't buy it", it's about loyalty and consumer's right.

A class action suit against EA would make some waves. But if its on the grounds of falsely advertising NBA Live 07 it would get tossed in the trash. Every single ad that I have seen in video or print especially on EA's website, like the interviews for features refers to the the game as NBA Live 07 "NEXT GEN" when discussing the so called new great features. Thats BIG COPORATIONS way of saying "If you don't have access to Next Gen technology then you don't have these features. Its the same thing as when you see a car commercial and the narrator is discussing all the great safety features and neat new gadgets, but on the bottom of the screen there is a little blurb that says "blah blah blah Model shown" Which is usually the stripped down model with none of those features. EA has pulled the same bait & switch tactic sales people have been using for years.

I admittedly am as frustrated or more so than anyone else. I could tolerate many of th ebugs the cpu sub issue make the game completely unplayable. Being one of the few boneheads that aquired the EA Downloader version its pratically unreturnable. The only upside is the few times I played it in various modes I haven't experienced a single crash. But its small conselation for having been tricked into buying garbage.

they have advertised sig shots for current gen. something can be done with that, whether it be a lawsuit (highly unlikely/impossible) or some cinsumer protection authority.

My bad. Still new here. Thanks for telling me.

As far as I know, they only put up a game information page on their website with all consoles having the same information, and that's it. How is that advertising sig shots for current gen? That's just the webmaster being a bit lazy...

Unless you know someone specific on the dev team, your complaint emails never reach them. Also, regarding a patch, EA will only do one if it is in their best interest financially. It's like the movie Fight Club, when he's talking about when they recall a car and that they only do so when the profits outweigh the cost.

This is the kind of game you get when the devs only have 7 months to work on it. They started in January, probably went beta sometime in early August. Crunch time for 5 of those 7 months wouldn't be out of the question. I feel bad for them because they work within the time they are given, and that's just not enough time to do anything good, especially when they are developing the "EA Way" (Need to get a game done and fast? Throw an extra 300 people on the project = bad).

if there was something there saying that there were sig shots, and it was on a current gen page/under a current gen heading, it's false advertising. lazy or not.

beside that, andrew confirmed in his community day thread (several times) that there would be sig shots in current gen. i doubt he drew this conclusion out of absolutely no basis.

I think it'd be more accurate to say it like that: EA did not mention that sig shots wouldn't be for current gen. The website was indeed very misleading, it really felt like some sig shots would be on current gen, but once you get the DVD box, surprise! no fucking sig shots...
They were not clear enough about the distinction between current and next gen, and it pretty much confused everyone... :?

Tuomas - send your avatar and sig to EA , maybe then they will do something

If you truly think that that could end in something substantial, you're either a child or just dillusional and have no idea how the law works. That'd be a hell of a lot of trouble to have some webmaster laid off (that would be the best case scneario), and would result in no change...

Let's think a little before we type from now on, eh? That goes for quite a few people...

When did Andrew say that? Cause i don't remember reading that. Could you quote it? Don't Slander.
