Marcusmirx, thanks for notes, great work.
All of your suggestions are good, in fact in RR 3.1 these new setting are in substance present.

Just a specify:
This RR 3.0 have overall players relative at the season 06/07 and summer games (summer league, preseason, eurpoean championship etc...

The RR 3.1 have realistic overall of this beginning season 07/08.

ciao, and sorry for my poor english!

Jermaine O´Neal - His hardiness is too high considering he is injured all the time. And his last injury really affected his game.

http://www.nba.com/playerfile/jermaine_ ... stats.html
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archi ... s_success/

He should recover with time but not fully i think. Also, his strength should be decreased.

Elton Brand - I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt. But his hardiness should go a bit down considering his serious injury. His jumping should probably be a bit lower too.

Josh Howard - His stealing ability is too high. His def.awareness should probably be a bit higher instead.

marcusmirx,
hardiness controls power ability to lower jo's hardiness is like saying that when hes healthy hes not power?
same with brand.

As far as i know hardiness is related to injures and strength has to do with power.

edit: you mean power superstar ability?

Yep, you are right. Brand should have the same hardiness and probably a bit less of dunking.

About JO he has 85 in hardiness and if he goes to 80 he will still have power ability according to this list:

Code: Select all
Offensive FSS:

Playmaker* -- Pass 80, Dribble 80, Offensive Aware 80
There is only one level for this, unless this is a bug, this gets you the top tier of passes (aka potential turn overs)

Highflyer -- Jump 80, Speed 80, Dunk 80
Superstar -- Jump 90, Dunk 90

Power -- Dunk 80, Strength 80, Hardy 80
Superstar -- Dunk 90, Strength 90, Hardy 90

Inside Scorer -- FG 75, Inside Scoring 80, Offensive Aware 80
Superstar -- Inside Scoring 90, Offensive Aware 85

Outside Scorer -- FG 75, Speed 80, Dribble 80, Offensive Aware 80
Superstar -- FG 85, Speed 85, Dribble 85, Offensive Aware 85

Shooter -- FG 80, 3PT 80, FT 80
Superstar -- FG 85, 3PT 85, FT 85

Defensive FSS:

Inside Stopper: Block 75, Defensive Rebounds 75, Defensive Aware 75
Superstar -- Defensive Rebounds 85

Outside Stopper: Steal 75, Quickness 75, Defensive Aware 75
Superstar -- Steal 85, Defensive Aware 85

Some more much less important notes:

Saer Sene: He is rated 55 and he is still very raw but i think he could be a bit better. His blocking, def.rebound and off.awareness should go up. A 60-61 overall is about right. I just mention him because he went very high in last season draft and he could be sonics starting center in some years.

Some players like Maciljauskas and Raul Lopez should be off the fa list.
As far as i know Raul Lopez will never come back to the nba and Arvydas feels pretty comfortable in Europe.

Also, Melvin Sanders is the second worst player. This is totally no factor but i can't to see a player who saw some minutes with the spurs as the 2nd worst players, lol. :o . 55 overall would be more fair.

Then, i will give some more comments. :D

For what i read Jiri welsch , Planicic and Mario Kasun have contracts that expire in 2009 so they should be gone too.

I would keep Ilyasova and Fizer because it is almost sure they will come back to the nba.

Gary Payton and David Wesley are retired. Eddie Griffin is dead...

As far as i know to eliminate a player you need to take him off the players.dbf file. At least, that worked for me before.

-------------------------------------------------

And again, sorry for being repetitive but most rookies are way overrated.
For example, there is no way Rayshawn Terry is better than David Harrison and he is 5 points better. You should consider reducing most rookies 2 or 3 points and 4 points in some cases.

I am trying to help you to make a great roster update because live 08 sim engine sucks big time and we need to keep live 07 alive. :P

Cliff Robinson, Bryon Russell, Allan Houston and Corliss Williamson are retired too. walter McCarty is not retired but he should be.

Jasikevicius signed a 2 years contract in Europe. Spanoulis is gone too.

List of highly overrated rookies: Josh McRoberts, Morris Almond, Guillermo Diaz (released), McGuire, Rayshawn Terry (didn't sign yet), Derrick Byars (released), strawberry.

List of overrated rookies: Luis Scola, Al Thorton, Marco Belinelli, Jared Dudley, Thaddeus Young, Morris Almond, Aaron Brooks, Alando Tucker, Nick Fasekas, Demetris Nichols.

List of underrated rookies: Moon, sean williams, yi, Tiago Splitter although he didn't sign with spurs yet.

Rookies shouldn't have so high ratings because they will improve and not everyone should have 75+ rating. But with those ratings in dinasty they probably will. And they will be way better than the previous draft class as well. For example, Players like McGuire might do as well as Millsap that proved to be a steal last season. Thats not right.

David Harrison: I think the guy never received an update since the time he was signed, lol. His stealing ability should be a bit better as well as his fg.
He has an average of .0.528 fg in his 4 years of career but his fg is still 36.

Sergei Monia and Buford (from wilkipedia : it was discovered that he had failed a drug test during his time in Maccabi Tel-aviv, his third violation in his career. He recently played for the Ukrainian team Azovmash Mariupol, a team for which he played the 2005-06 season, after being banned by FIBA for testing positive in use of Cannabis before a Euroleague game while still playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv[2]. Consequently he left the team in February 2007 after playing just one game.) should be included to the list of gone players as well. Haislip could be in the fa list because he only signed a one year deal in europe and he could be back in the nba, i think. The same goes for Demarr Johnson.

Daniel Gibson: Deserves a good upgrade. All the shooting categories should be updated. His shooting % are just impressive. And his steal and rebound ability could go higher too. 18 in stealing for a guy who is averaging 1 steal per game in 30+ minutes and 0.5 in 19.9 for his career is very low. He should have something more like 50 in stealing and 38 in def. rebound. And 80 in fg, 83 in 3pt and 80 in ft.

marcusmirx,
well in theory the hardiness for a power player is about 15 less of what it ways in the game because the more a player collides with others [such as dunking :D] more likely they are to get injured, changing jo's wont do more then reduce his ability to star....

Andrei Kirilenko: passing ability should go up to something like 66, fg down to 71 and off.awereness down to 63. Thats all for him.

Kirk Hinrich: His stealing should be more like 71 instead of 81. In the last 3 seasons he never averaged more than 1.2 steals per game in 30+ minutes.

Alby, I think theres a glaring mistake though with the ratings for a star player:

Deron Williams is a prototypical star. He just had another great night (24pts 15 ast). People say he is the 3rd or 4th best PG in the league (behind Nash, Kidd, and potentially Davis). Anyways I think the ratings should reflect this particularly the 3 pt ratings (he can drill it from there). Hes shooting ~ 45 percent. He should probably be a 3pt "star" and a playmaker "superstar" in my opinion. In fact Kenny Smith has pegged him as an MVP candidate. Thanks as always! Good luck with you rosters. Best on the site.

Randolph and C.Bosh don't have star or super star sign! why?

They are the best players of their team.

Carmelo, I have to disagree to some extent:

Alby's rosters give the Superstar status only to the, well, superstars/best players. This is what makes Alby's roster so realistic and true to life.

I do however agree with you with regards to chris bosh. He is a top tier player and should at least have "star" inside scorer and inside stopper. Randolph on the other hand is not as high caliber of a player and in real life a most of his points come on solid jumpers or put backs. Just because they are the best on their teams does not mean the are superstar caliber.
