You said that now you can RELIVE the 2006 NBA Draft right.... SO, lets say that I created a player and he is in the free agent pool when I start a dynasty mode, can I draft that created player???
Also, can you save a replay?
Can you choose a dunk package in Next gen for a player, just like current gen?
How are the FS dunks in Next Gen? Are they different then current gen dunks or the same?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

There will be an option to play the game with all athletes fully nude. They did mo-caps for that too.

Lol @ cameron, that scandinavian midget.
Great article Andrew, it's amazing how much you we're able to bring back to us from that trip. Sounds very good, I might consider buying the game for pc, if I haven't got myself a next gen console by then.

Andrew, i remember that in live 03 or 04 we see a cut scene animation when we trade or sign plaers to team. in the animation the player comes to the locker room and one of the major player welcome him.
can you tell us if ea make some new nimation like this or a deferent one?
when the draft is starting is a fast one or like i saying above we can see a cut scene like in the past?

It definitely does seem like something I'd consider buying (unlike last year when it didn't even cross my mind) but there is one thing that is really bothering me, and that is dynasty mode. From what you've said there's very very few additions, and the only real change (apart from the chemistry thing which will undoubtedly get old) is the MLE, which for me frankly isn't enough. With ESPN on board I was really expecting alot from dynasty mode, the possibilities are seriously endless but I'm guessing/hoping it's just a case of them wanting to focus more on the game play and not just thinking dynasty mode is fine as it is.
I completely agree with you. It seems that MLE is the only thing they added, and everything else is all hype and marketing. I'm very happy with MLE, chemistry, ESPN rumors, player evolution, and FSS, but I'm not too impressed with the inability to hire and fire your head coach, no trade block, the off season is still linear, you can't save during the off season or in games, no sign and trade, no contract extensions, only two days of box scores during the season and not any during the playoffs, and no accepting of a trade after you offered one to another team and they accepted. They could have done more to improve especially the Dynasty, although improvments were made, I have to say they did try hard this year, but for some reason it just seems like its all marketing. I could be a little picky here, but come on, several games like FIFA, Madden, and MVP had these features. Why doesn't LIVE???
yeah, I feel a bit the same in that regard....I'm glad they've added new features, but it would've been nice to see them clean up a few things that just weren't working well (i.e. no off-season save, stat bug, box scores etc)....

Thanks for the feedback Andrew. I have one more question. In NBA Live 06 you could tip-in (and miss) and tip-in and tip-in etc on one possesion so you could had about 10 offensive rebounds with one guy on one possesion if you wanted. When you would hit the tip-in button your guy (almost) always jumped higher than the defensive rebounder. So I was some games able to have like 40 off rebounds (just to test how many I can get) on a 8 minute quarter game.
How about NBA Live 07? Is this annoying thing still present? They should have tone the tip-in off rebound down or at least make the second, third, 4th ... etc jump for the rebound lower and lower, so that's not possible to do this again and the defensive rebounder to actually ... rebound.
So how is this in NBA Live 07? The same 50+ rebs per game for one player if you want?

Thanks Andrew for the report. Seems by reading all these posts that interest is getting high. I'm sure EA would be welcoming the fact you visited and gave us this info.

Andrew,
You mentioned that you experimented by trading Dwayne Wade to Chicago for Chris Duhon and a 1st round draft pick. How did this affect your team chemistry? Beyond what the "bars" may have said about player feelings, did you see or feel a difference with the team on-court?

Andrew wrote:Denmack wrote:You answered someone that the back down control is the same as last year (pulling down on the right analog stick). But how can that co-exist with the FSS trigger (which works with the same stick) and switching between FSS types? Let's say I'm playing with the Spurs and backing down some PF with Timmy D now when I start my back down his FSS is Power but I want to switch to Inside Scorer, how is that possible? And also if you're allways pulling down the left analog stick while backing down then pressing the FSS trigger would allways result in the same FSS move... As you can tell I'm a bit puzzled over this
I already answered this one and I'm not sure how I can explain it any simpler than I did before, but here goes:
To change FSS movsets:Hold down the FSS trigger and press the right analog
button. That's when you push the right analog stick in. If you've played the GTA series on the PS2, that's the R3 button (how you initiate Taxi/Vigilante missions). In NBA Live 06, you hold it down to initiate Off-Ball control.
Off-Ball control is still available and will be activated if you don't hold down the FSS trigger.
To back downThe exact same as last year. Hold down (or back, if you prefer) on the right analog stick while moving the player with the left stick.
Okay, I understand all this. So that's not my question. I don't know if it's because I can't explain it well enough in English. I don't know if you read my conversation with Andreas, but I think I explained it a little more accurately:
Denmack wrote:Ehm, I know he did but read my entire post and you'll see that I want to know how it's possible to back down someone (holding the right analog stick down) and switch to an ability without pulling of a move. When I go over it in my mind as soon as you press the FSS trigger while backing down you'd automatically pull off which ever FSS move corresponds to pulling down on the stick
Denmack wrote:Andreas Dahl wrote:Hmm, well from what I've gathered is that you switch FSS abilities by pushing the right analog stick button only. The superstar trigger (which isn't the right analog stick button) is only involved when you want to make a FSS move. So the trigger isn't involved in switching FSS abilities, so there's no risk of pulling off a move when trying to do something else. Might have gotten it wrong tho..
FSS move = FSS trigger + Right analog stick in any direction
FSS switch = Right analog stick button
Back down = Right analog stick direction down
Yeah, I've gathered as much as well. But, okay, lets say that you're backing down an opponent and you want to do some kind of FSS move during the back down, then the moment you press down the trigger while backing down your man you'd only be able to do
one shot/dunk/whatever - namely FSS trigger + Right analog stick down. That's how I picture it in theory and I don't understand how the back down control can still be on the right analog stick. I want to know how this works in real life
So just to recap I do get which buttons do what and how they work together. What I don't get is, when you back someone down and press the FSS trigger you'd always pull off the same move (the move depending on which FSS type your player currently is) and it also seems like it would be impossible to switch FSS type (that is press R3) while backing down an opponent. I don't know how else to explain it than what I've written in the quoted posts. But if you can't understand what I mean you don't have to respond to this post - I'll just have to wait until September

Just a quick question: Will we be able to use cyberfaces and headshapes from Live 06 for Live 07?
Sat Aug 19, 2006 12:48 am
Hey andrew,
from that picture of yours with tim, i realized i never had good imagination. i always thought all along that you looked like conan o'brien in your sig. peace.
kidding aside, seeing as melo and wade had their moves mo-capped, (1) did lebron james also has his sig jumpshot? or his power dunks? (2) also, since there is a concept of weight in the game, i would assume he could overpower his opponents on the drive? Of course, not to the point of abusing it.
(3) also, did manu have his sig moves, or his flopping moves? i think you said earlier that most of the superstars in the game will have their sig shots (so that means not all).
from a gameplay standpoint, (4) will real play calling be implemented, as in for example teams will use a significant amount of their shotclock setting up plays? also, and i think this is more important, (5) will play calling be a necessity to win? because as you may know, in last year's game (or in other previous versions of live), you can win without calling a single play.
btw, i'm glad positional defense will be key this time around.
from what i've read in your review, and being a gameplay-over-anything else fan, i think i would very much enjoy this game. thanks.

I asked this earlier and it was answered. Andrew said it's extremely unlikely to be able to use headshapes, but bheads is a possiblity.

I think I know what you mean, but if you played Live 06, you remember how if you took your thumb off of the right analog (backdown) to do a FSS move, he would still backdown for an extra second to give you time to make a move. That's probably how it is. Same with performing FSS moves. You'll have to release the analog for a second while you activate FSS control and your player will continue to back down. Then you have to do the move quickly before he comes out of his position.

Thanks. I really didn't want to go through four pages after reading Andrew's recap.

Well, how could I know that? I saw that there are four pages, and I just read the first and last.

Seeing as it was mid-way down the
first page, as was said... no you didn't.
Also... why should you be rewarded for your laziness? It was a mistake on my part... people who are lazy deserve nothing, and these forums are crawling with them, and it annoys me to no end.

Very detailed recap/preview. I must say, I am hyped for the curren-gen evrsion, but the only dissapointing thing is the ESPN features. Also, I am happy to hear that the players heads and model have been fixed up and are now better. I am EXTREMELY happy to hear the defence has been fixed and that the AI does not recover too quickly.
Thnaks for this detailed preview.

thanks for the review
My biggest question is concerning PC requirements. I currently have a Pentium M 2GIG CPU, 1 GIG of RAM & ATI Mobility RADEON X300 laptop that runs 2006 fine on medium detail settings
.... what are the chances of running 2007 ?

Andrew I have a question and please forgive me if you've answered this somewhere that i didnt' see but
IS There Multi Player Dynasty Mode? why i ask this I would love to challenge my friend in GM skills in this game. IF not I hope they would add this for 2008. From what Ive been reading those Im pretty impressed with adding team chemistry and an ESPN Mock Draft.
