i understand koberulez, and matt too. again i wasn't trying to be defensive, nor insulting. that's not me. i admit i'm a bit tired and wasn't really concerned with how what i typed looked, and for those it is an eyesore to, i'm man enough to apologize for. so i apologize to you all.

reading about the bugs is nothing new, there are always gripes that are just. but all of you who buy this game have a right to better treatment than to just be given a statement that maybe something will be done, or maybe not. that response made me feel as if they look at the buyers as a field of cattle with money attached that they can just pluck off and then leave you out to pasture. i don't know any of you, and i've never taken a penny of your money for anything, but looking at it that way made me feel bad for everyone who buys this game.

i just don't want to see you all build up steam, get hope when an avenue seems to open up to fix things, only to have it blocked because of things that are minor concerns or details to those who've spent their money already, but seem more important to them than trying to give you the game you paid for, like the content of an email response, or contact info that might actually lead to someone who sees you as more than the 40 or 50 dollars they got from you. that response seemed alot like the don't call us, we'll call you snub, and what they released this year is not enough to give them that right.

for once i think they need to recognize you as people, not consumers, and maybe have someone who is willing to listen finally treat you that way.

mr. fitzy and mr. crystallas who's the registered smartass crybaby you're referring to?

Mon Oct 02, 2006 12:23 am

my custom title, and a random insult related thereto.

Mon Oct 02, 2006 12:28 am

i guess i'm really old then, i didn't take that much out of what you posted, and again i'm sorry if it came out that way or portrayed you as a smartass. it's not what i think, whether that matters or not. what i mean often comes out differently than intended.

Mon Oct 02, 2006 12:45 am

Alright, let's stop ruining this thread with petty infighting.

As of now, we're weak. It's a bunch of "forum hooligans" whining about bugs and a crappy game. We should, as a community, craft a press release to send to sites like OS, IGN, GameSpy, Joystiq, etc. We should set up a site for the sole purpose of displaying it so as to avoid presenting the things like just happened above with the more mature release.

We should agree on the language and the list of our grievances, acquire a prominant initial number of signatures, then present it. The we can keep gathering signatures and keep submitting it to EA. (We should leave the major media sites alone after the initial informing as they'd probably tire of us quickly.)

I don't think this is the thread to start crafting such a thing, I'm just floating the idea here.

Mon Oct 02, 2006 1:05 am

I'm for the idea. I'm not sure how involved the NLSC as a site will want to get involved but from me alone, I'm all for it.

I'd like to be able to help in any way possible, anything to bring some change, this is getting absurd. The formal letter to the big gaming sites, this might actually make EA sit up and consider bringing some change.

This way more people will be aware of it and not only a handful of forum members. I like the initiative you're taking, if there is anything I can add besides my signature, just let me know.

It's about time we stood for what we deserve as a community.

Mon Oct 02, 2006 1:33 am

Yeah, our thinking is pretty much in tune here Jackal. I'm going to get a domain to publish the letter on. Since all our "prominent" members are here on the NLSC (or easily contactable) I was going to debate it on here. I'm writing up a draft of it, I will make a new thread with the letter and a place for us to debate additions, subtractions, modifications. My plan as it is now, is to submit the letter as prominent community members, then add more signatures (of just regular community joe's) and resend it to EA.

I'll have that thread up in a little bit.

Jackal wrote:
I'm sure they are gonna look at this year, and REALLY step their game up next year.

I'm certain a handful of people shared the same sentiment. Last year.

There were people that went "oh, Live 06 isn't so good, watch them explode with 07". Footplanting? Whoo fucking hoo. It is the fans that keep making excuses for EA and in return EA gives you a shoddy product for you to make more excuses for them. Oh, Live 08 will suck and then we'll say now wait and watch, they will re-introduce layups in Live 09.

All the while EA goes, hmm, add footplanting & remove subbing, you win some, you lose some. Ha ha.

I'm yet to find an answer as to why the in game saves from Live 2000 were removed.

I have no problem with the current gen version. . .But the next gen, I had so much hype for it and it went down the drain when I seen those 1st vids. I knew it was going to be shit.

All I'm saying is, EA has their name to protect, so i doubt next year they are going to release another flop title like this for Next Gen (3 strikes, n your out). If they do, I'm not buy Live next Gen until I know it's going to be good. All the fans should have known that next gen was going to be shit, when EA was stalling to release gameplay videos. . especially after Andrew and em came back from the community day thing. Next year, if EA shows improvement by promoting the game early, with some new vids, there migth be some hope that they atleast worked on improving the game drastically!!

Next year is Do or Die, with me and EA, if they don't show improvements, especially in next gen, I'm done and going towards 2k8.

BTW, I hope they don't release the same bullshit for the ps3. . cause that would be the worst thing they can do

Mon Oct 02, 2006 1:54 am

I'd be happy to help in anyway as well Benji, and I'm glad somebody is stepping up to try to fix the issue.

Mon Oct 02, 2006 1:56 am

Please stop arguing about paragraphs.

Totally back on subject, please. (Y)

Great idea Benji, I am behind that idea 100%.

mmm i get the feeling that they have that message saved on word or something then copy & paste it.

So they read there own forums for feedback? funny because there seems to be alot of threads over there listing the bugs but not a single reply from any member of the EA team.

Mon Oct 02, 2006 2:16 am

we here at technical support does not have any information regarding that

Reel good spellsing.

Secondly, that's probably the most polite "Go fuck yourself, quit bugging me, but I understand your problems." e-mail I've ever read. Amazing.

Then again, atleast you got a reply, I'm still waiting for mine.

Mon Oct 02, 2006 5:02 am

there isn't too much about bugs for ps2 on ea's forums. it's obvious pc got fuuuuucked over

hmm.....

Mon Oct 02, 2006 6:06 am

....I sent in a request to BOTH technical support AND customer support. Here's what they gave me back. I asked only one question, whether they could or WOULD confirm a patch for this game.

Hello,

Thanks for contacting EA Technical Support and for your interest with the NBA Live 07! I’m sorry for the difficulty that you are having with the game.

Unfortunately, this information is not available to us as you have reached technical support. I really would not have any means of even redirecting your question to the development team. It's their decision and we do not have any control of it.

The best thing I could offer is for you to please post on the appropriate game forum. These forums are maintained and monitored by the community leaders and production team. I really think we should start a petition to see whether we should persue a lawsuit. The mere fact EA misrepresented and falsely advertised features within the game that were CLEARLY only XBOX 360 related, yet choose to portray ALL VERSIONS as having said features on it's main pages and features list, already allows the grounds for a False Advertising, and malicious fraud(proving deliberate attempt to discieve the public is something any first year law student would take one second with, they hung themselves). I honestly do not believe EA is gonna do ANYTHING. Had they considered it, they'd have difussed the situatation by posting a patch to be released like in the XBOX360 sections of their respective forums. Essentially IF we want this game fixed, we're gonna have to hope we find out which scripts contain the settings sliders, and basically cross our fingers that 06's scripts plug right in like most of the game.

Forget addons and this boards since anything is dependent on a PATCH. I do not believe EA gives 2 shits about us and will not PATCH this. The ONLY way you make EA notice you is to hurt them in their pocketbooks. The only way now is thru LAWSUIT, word of mouth to every gaming mag etc(I've sent letters to every gaming onling magazine stating the bugs etc(unfortunately EA pays most of them heavy advertising dollars so most will NOT say anything negative). The grounds for lawsuits have been put in play by EA themselves. Now all of you have to decide IF you will do it, who will lead, and who will the plantiff's be. THAT will bite em, win or lose in the ass, bad press. That and THAT alone will push them to at least acknowledge the piece of dung that is Live 07PC.....(since all gaming magazines are ripping the XBOX360 version a new one on their own, that's hurting them too)

the game itself dont matter what platform, is pure crap. piece of garbage game

Agreed. I spent like 8 hours with this game and I can't play... It's a game based on Sebastian Telfair. I mean... you drive to the basket, and you draw the foul, score or pass the ball to a three point shooter and score. There's no midrange game like EA announced. The defense it's ok, but if you can't play offence ... it's just boring. The perfect NBA live was 05. If that game had fastbreaks it would be perfect.

Laxation wrote:he said it because people from phillapines are fucking useless, with very few exceptions. It is just proved again and again with the ones who post here

Geez Laxation, at least spell Philippines correctly. Matthew did.
The game wil still sell to little kids

I doubt little kids can play a complex game with 3 buttons just for putting the ball in the hoop, and a Freestyle control that is whack.

Just visited NBA Live 07 site, and the advertisements and features they hype about the game seems more like a joke now because of the major flaws.

Mon Oct 02, 2006 6:49 am

I don't know why they have to separate the shooting in three different buttons... I mean, when you're at the perimeter there are two useless buttons, and when you're on a fastbreak you won't shoot unless you're far... My point is that there should be one shooting button, like in NBA 2K series, and the CPU will select how to shoot depending on the situation. That should be applied to the "freestyle superstars". Instead of putting complex controls, just the FSS button combined with the pass, shoot, steal, block or even rebound buttons, and each time the CPU will select the most appropiate animation.

Life's simple, games should be simple, WE are simple

JUST WII THE LIFE !!

That's an interesting proposition. I can see it now: The people of NLSC vs. EA Sports.

Mon Oct 02, 2006 7:28 am

Or more like consumers vs. company.

I proposed that idea first, ha. I mean, they certainly robbed everyone who bought the game.

Mon Oct 02, 2006 8:58 am

I guess you could put forward a case of fraud.

Mon Oct 02, 2006 9:14 am

Deception of the consumer is something that's taken quite seriously at the courts in the Hague.
