andrew, did you ask them about next gen for pc, when it will be or something??
Mon Aug 14, 2006 8:47 pm
This year, PC is Current Gen. It's unclear when it might become Next Gen, though I'd assume it'll happen once the Current Gen consoles are phased out.

welcome back andrew can't wait for your post.

I'm going to have to put off the report until tomorrow as I need to clear the use of some photos with EA. It'll also give me some time to go over my notes again and make sure I've included everything I wanted to cover in my initial article. I think you'll like what I'm putting together though.

Looking forward to it Andrew

one more thing: did you guys got to talk to the QA team of NBA live? i´m sure they are the ones to blame for some of the bugs...
Mon Aug 14, 2006 11:42 pm
No, only the producers.

Well, at the time you wrote that I was several thousand feet over the Pacific Ocean.

I'm back now though, just organising my notes and will be posting a report later today; I have a few things to catch up on as you might expect.
Welcome back Andrew!! (Maybe I should be saying farewell, seeing that I live in Canada and you just left Canada!

) Anyways, I can't wait for your report. Congratulations and I look forward to reading all your posts again. We missed you, and we're all eager to read the information you will give us. I hope for good Dynasty news. Trade block, scouting more realistic generated rookies...etc.

Welcome back, mister Andrew. I hope all was ok in Canada.
Looking forward to your great review, and thanks for mantaining this website.
I hope this years game will be good enough to patch it again. Live 06 really sucked.

There's no trading block feature but there's good news elsewhere in Dynasty Mode.

Are all the arenas in like the contintail airlines arena , td waterhouse center , american airlines arena and what used to be called the fleet center. I read on ign that the all star game will be detailed, any news if the have the actual arena in the game that is going to be used?
Tue Aug 15, 2006 2:44 pm
As far as I can tell, it's the same as last year when it comes to arena naming rights ie. a couple missing due to various licensing issues but the rest should all be correct.

The main thing I want to ask you is did you play the game ?
Just making sure.
Can't wait for the report.

Mr. Begley,
You say you've played the game during your trip to EA. Can you confirm they've fixed the infamous "Midcourt inbounds to backcourt automatic turnover" bug? That of which has plagued this series for years! I want to know the programmer responsible...
I wish I was a play tester for their NBA games, I've found endless bugs over the years and makes me wonder who tests the games for them =/
Sigh...

I didn't notice it, though that's not to say it isn't there. There was a lot to take in across three platforms and as I'm sure you can appreciate, not all scenarios where bugs might occur played out.

That is a NBA rule, not a glitch. However I believe you
can pass into the backcourt with less than two minutes in the half in the NBA but im not sure on the official ruling
Found it
- Code:
team control exists on a throw-in, so if the ball is thrown in from the front court to a player with back court status, it would be a backcourt violation.

You're right.
"EXCEPTION: During the last two minutes of the fourth period and/or any overtime period, the ball may be passed anywhere (frontcourt or backcourt) on the court."
I'm going to test this now in Live.
