@andrew

thank you very, very much for this roster update. i would like to know when do you plan to release v1.20? i'm asking because i found few issues (regarding rosters and players' appearance - you didn't quite stick to what i wrote in v1.18 announcement thread, you took it only partially, but okay, i hope this time you will take it as i write it). so i would like to know when to start posting what should be fixed in v1.20? i don't want to start with it too early because you might forget something, or on the other hand to start too late, because you might not have enough time to implement that in the game. so tell me when is the "best" time for "what shoud be fixed" thing.

Mon Feb 25, 2008 7:25 am

Sweet! Thanks for this.

Couldn't wait till it came out.

This looks great.

The next update probably won't be a while, huh? Because there aren't going to be any trades.

Oh well. This one should hold me and everyone else for a while.

i hope not.... because other than those few issues i have to point out, we also need to fix new players' rotations after all these trades. in this version, it's all made by assumption. in next upadate (which i hope will be soon) we will have right players' rotations for all teams that have new players in their teams.

Tue Feb 26, 2008 10:06 am

The next update will probably be in two or three weeks. As far as feedback is concerned, any time between now and the next release is the best time. :)

Wed Feb 27, 2008 8:50 am

@andrew

before i put the list of feedback i would like to ask you one thing... why is this happening with hornets (players' name mixing with his number) and suns third jersey (improper circle around the number)? did you edit anything in nba live 07 jerseys or this is EA's bug?

can you please check this out?

It's an art issue, it's nothing I've done.

so you're saying it's a EA's default glitch?

Thu Feb 28, 2008 2:28 am

okay, here i will start with feedback informations for the next release of NLSC nba live 07 roster patch. note: these informations regard only for "UNINJURED" rosters. this time i will skip players' rotations because few players are expected to sign with new teams (one of them already did today - jamal magloire signed with dallas) but i will post it right afer i find correct informatios regarding this issue. so i will will start with this:

ROSTER ISSUES:

- chicago bulls - replace thabo sefolosha with larry hughes as a starting SG and put luol deng as a starting SF instead of andres nocioni

- denver nuggets - replace chucky atkins with anthony carter as a starting PG, atkins infact was never meant to be starting PG

- milwaukee bucks - put charlie villaneueva as a starting PF instead of yi lian

- minnesota timberwolves - replace rashad mccants with randy foye as a starting SG

- dallas mavericks - devean george is SF, not SG because in rotation you have eddie jones, antoine wright as a SG, so switch him to SF (his natural position)

- san antonio spurs - kurt thomas replaced fabricio oberto as a starting center

PLAYERS' ISSUES

- wrong numbers for wally szcerbiak (no 10), malik allen (30), bonzy wells (no 24), mike james (no 5), bobby jackson (no 8) and donyell marshall (no 42), von wafer (24)

- wrong height for danny granger - he's 6-8, not 6-9

- wrong height for delonte west - he's 6-3, not 6-4 (nba.com source)

- missing portrait for c.j. watson

- many other portraits out of date (for example chris webber and allen iverson's portraits are way back from philly and so on), try to update them

- some bio infos are wrong (check the announcement thread for live 08 roster 1.03)

- jason richardson (bobcats) - add the headband and the WHITE sleeve on the left arm

- gerald wallace (bobcats) - change the color of the sleeve to WHITE

- jared dudley (bobcats) - add the headband

- al thorton (clippers) - add the headband

- kobe bryant (lakers) - remove the sleeve from the right arm, elbow band from the left arm, all knee bands/pads and add the long WHITE wristband on right arm

- delonte west (cavs) - add the headband

- lebron james (cavs) - remove the sleeve (he wore it only on two games before all star and on the all star game)

- zydrunas ilgauskas (cavs) - add the WHITE elbow pad on the right arm

- andres nocioni (bulls) - add the BLACK sleeve on the right arm

- drew gooden (bulls) - add the WHITE sleeve on the left arm

- rip hamilton (pistons) - add the BLACK sleeve on the right arm

- rasheed wallace (pistons) - remove all arm bands/pads

- allen iverson (nuggets) - remove the elbowband from the left arm

- chris webber (warriors) - add the headband

- nate robinson (knicks) - remove the elbow band and add the BLACK sleeve on the right arm and TEAM short sleeve on a right calf

- eddy curry (knicks) - remove the headband

- julian wright (hornets) - add the headband

- maurice williams (bucks) - add the TEAM headband

- desmond mason (bucks) - add the TEAM headband

- royal ivey (bucks) - add the WHITE sleeve on the right arm

- hakeem warick (grizzlies) - add the headband and the WHITE sleeve on a right arm

- mike miller (grizzlies) - add the BLACK elbow pad on the left arm, change the wrist band color on the right arm to BLACK, remove calf bands from both legs and add BLACK pads on both knees

- rashad mccants (twolves) - add the headband and WHITE sleeve on a left arm

- kirk snyder (twoves) - add the BLACK sleeve on the right arm

- d.j. strawberry (suns) - add the headband

- leandro barbosa (suns) - remove the lef arm band and add the WHITE sleeve on a left arm

- amare stoudamire (suns) - add the BLACK sleeve on the right arm

- brad miller (kings) - remove the headband

- mikki moore (kings) - remove the headband and add left forearm TEAM band

- matt harpring (jazz) - add the left forearm TEAM band and left wrist TEAM band

- t.j. ford (raptors) - add the headband

- andray blatche (wizards) - add the headband

again, please use the right color for the sleevs, it would not take you too much time though.

PRIMACY ISSUES:

- lakers - pau gasol takes only 2 FG attempts per game (2min quarter period), derek fisher, lamar odom and andrew bynum take 5-6 shots per game and kobe brayant 10-11 (all this in 2min quarter). you need to increase pau gasol's FG attempts and to reduce fisher's, so the primacy list for lakers starting five should go like this:

1. bryant
2. gasol
3. odom
4. bynum
5. fisher

- hornets - peđa stojaković takes only 2-3 FG attempts per game (2min quarter) , while morris peterson takes 9-10 FG per game (2min quarter). you should reduce his FG attempts, and increase peđa's. the primacy list for the hornets starting five acording to stats should go like this:

1. west
2. paul
3. stojaković
4. peterson
5. chandler

- mavericks - dirk nowitzki takes only 3-4FG attempts per game and you should try to fix dallas mavericks primacy order. it should go like this:

1. nowitzki
2. howard
3. terry
4. kidd
5. dampier

- spurs - again tim duncan is taking only 2-3FG per game in 2min quarter, while tony parker and manu ginobili take 9-11FG per game. sometimes i get even oberto to take more shots than duncan so this also needs to be fixed. stats say this about primacy order:

1. duncan
2. ginobili
3. parker
4. bowen
5. oberto

NBA ARENA'S ISSUES

while it's becoming more and more obvious that we will not have a patch with full nba live 07 courts update in near future, i think it's the best that you rename all star arena (new orleans arena) to thomas&mack center (las vegas) like it was in v1.18 version

again, i must aks you to be kind to implement all of this into the game itself exactly like i wrote it. i guess you'll have enough time to do so until roster release. also i would like you to check this list frequently because i will provide you all new infos. (Y)

Yes. It's nothing I've done.

Thanks for the latest info, I'll certainly check this thread for feedback whenever it's posted. That's what it's for, after all. :)

Fri Feb 29, 2008 1:52 am

feedback list is updated.

Sat Mar 01, 2008 9:56 am

Thanks. For future reference though, I do keep up with the transactions; it would defeat the purpose of updating the rosters if I didn't make the trades and signings. ;) I did miss a transaction in the last updates but that was an issue of timing and sources that weren't updated.

Sun Mar 02, 2008 12:56 am

regarding rosters, i'm waiting to see what will happen when free agents (dale davis, brent barry, theo ratliff, gordan giriček, ira newble...etc) sign with new teams.

so far i have updated players' appearance list.

Sun Mar 02, 2008 9:24 am

Thanks.

Just a reminder, I don't make face or portrait patches so unfortunately I can't address those issues. I am aware that there are currently players who are using generic faces and do not have portraits; they're like that because I don't have correct art for them.

I watch a lot of Laker games in L.A. Here are some of my observations of what I saw this year.

Bynum:

- Odom was the 3rd option when Bynum was healthy. He's more of an inside scorer than Odom. His role was similar to Chandler on this team for the first few months (lobs, dunking), but as he became a starter and Phil asked the team to throw the ball more of Bynum, he became the clear cut inside post option on the team. That combined with an improvement in post moves (right/left hook, jump hook bank shot, quick spins). He's not at the level of a Gasol or Jefferson by any means, but better than Odom at scoring inside.

- Pretty good leaper. He's similar to Tyson Chandler physically. He was 2nd in the league dunks converted behind Howard before going down. Not a "power" dunker but he can get above the rim.

- Solid rebounder. Bynum = Odom in rebound effectiveness pretty much on this team. Their rebounding stats are similar which reflects that. Bynum's long arms helps him in this aspect as well.

- Was leading the league in FG% at 63%. Even when teams started to close more on his lobbing opportunities as the season progressed, his post moves allowed him to continue the efficiency. The attention Kobe attracts helps too. He's a good finisher.

- Not a very strong base so he gets pushed around by bigger players. He can back down Cs like Biedrins but guys with bulky bodies like Perkins in the Celtics can push him out of the block.

- Best defender on this team besides Kobe. Good man-to-man defense and weak side defense. Very efficient shotblocker.

Gasol:

- Softer rebounder than I anticipated for his stats. When he's paired with a strong rebounder like Lamar, it seems he averages 6-8 instead of 8-10 like he was in Memphis.

- Average defender and he doesn't have a strong base so he gets pushed around by stronger players. He's a nice weak-side blocker so he still averages a nice amount of blocks. Not an intimidating shot blocker like Bynum was for this team. I don't know about him having that superstar inside stopper status? It doesn't seem right from what I've seen.

- I noticed he had a 80 defensive awareness which is the same as Kobe. I agree last year that Kobe was getting lit up by the guys as he didn't put as energy into defense from the knee surgery. But this year Kobe has been more active on defense in both man-to-man and in help defense disrupting the passing lanes. His steals are up from 1.4 to 2.0 this year so far.

- I think he should have the superstar inside scorer status. JO has one and Gasol has more post moves + shoots at a higher FG% than him.

Kobe:

- The defensive rating I mentioned above.

- FT% dropped this year from 87 to 85 overall.

Fisher:

- A bit of an increase in FG% and 3PT% compared to last year where he was awful. 44% in FG and about 40% in 3pt. Last year it was 38% in FG and 30% in 3pt. Streaky still.

- FT% increased to almost 88 this year.

Farmar

- He can dunk. Example: http://youtube.com/watch?v=gBKOIAI0enk I find him similar to Smush in dunking except Smush was dunking more as a Laker. Besides that, Farmar gets off the floor faster than Smush.

- Shooting is similar to Fisher but a bit better in FG% because he finishes better than him near the hole.

Sasha:

- I think this year he deserves a shooter status like Vladimir. Both of them are the best shot-up shooters on the Lakers. Vladimir's at 41% and Sasha's at 43%

- FT shooting not as good as last year surprisingly. From 88% to 83%.

I think the primacy order should be this:

1) Kobe
2) Gasol
3) Bynum
4) Odom
5) Fisher

......

Just my .02. What do you think? I hope it helps you out in the ratings. Besides the Lakers, I also keep up with a lot of Suns games.

Do ratings have a strong factor in how teams play out in dynasty mode? I found the Hornets missing the playoffs, Jazz barely or missing the playoffs, and the Celtics being a lower seed in my dynasty games. I use the Supreme mod and always update the primacy ratings. Is it the player ratings?

Mon Mar 03, 2008 1:19 am

i'm glad that i'm not the only one to provide feedbacks for NLSC live 07 roster patch but i disagree about bynum having a primacy order before odom. i also watch lots of games and i'm reading reports and statistics from various sites and everything i write, i write with reason. odom is having more FG attempts per game than bynum so my primacy order is more accurate.

and for the andrew... i have updated feedbacks list again (some players signed with new teams, some are expected to sign tomorrow, some changes in starting lineups and i also removed some players from the players' appearance list because they have their old - default look but i added few more with new look).

I see what you're about the stats. I know technically he's averaging more shot attempts (10.4) to Bynum's 8.5, but he does average significantly more minutes. Odom averages 37.0 MPG to Bynum's 28.8. Bynum generally gets the ball when he's in the game over Odom.

Mon Mar 03, 2008 8:26 am

Thanks for the latest guys. Another reminder though, you don't need to post the transactions; I know I need to make those, it would defeat the purpose of updating the rosters if I didn't make the transactions. ;) And again, I'm aware that some players are missing portraits. If I don't have a portrait to use, I can't do much about that.

I'd still prefer to have Odom ahead of Bynum in terms of Primacy, since ultimately that's the most important rating in terms of distributing the shots with simulated stats (as well as gameplay). I see where you're coming from, but sometimes you've got to work with what the game gives you.

The player ratings do contribute to a team's overall rating but that doesn't guarantee certain results in Dynasty Mode. Some Dynasty games play or sim through better than others and player injuries certainly are a factor as well so the results aren't always what you'd expect. Given the random nature, it's difficult to control.

regarding portraits, maybe you should get in touch with guy with a nickname "Albys". he has all the portraits and all of them are new.

regarding lakers' primacy, that's what i have said, odom is the third attackig option in lakers (after kobe and pau).

okay, i'll stop listing transactions, we will leave that to you.

my feedback list is updated again.

Ah ok. I see what you're saying. What's the current primacy settings for the Suns now? Amare has become a major focal point on the offense ever since Shaq joined.

Also the elite point guards in my game while simulating seem to have trouble averaging 10 assists. For example, Nash averages 7-8 for most of the season even though he plays a lot of minutes and games. Is there a way to control that?

Mon Mar 03, 2008 10:20 am

The portraits aren't my main concern but I'll certainly consider that.

Amare has the highest Primacy rating on the Suns.

The short answer in regards to the assists is that NBA Live 07's simulation engine is far from perfect. Ideally, players like Nash should be averaging over 10 assists but the CPU players tend to level out at around 7-8, as you noted. The ratings players like Nash have are already what they should be to average the most assists the sim engine will allow.
